Visited for lunch with my wife, no customers when we arrived, but 4 groups of 8 people came after us. Background music was Jpop♪ There are 3 parking spaces at the nearby hospital. The restaurant is a bit dark inside, so I used the night mode on my smartphone camera. The tatami seating had very thin cushions. I ordered the pork cutlet and my wife had the seafood bowl, both with less rice. The seafood bowl arrived in 10 minutes and it was delicious with salmon scraps in the vinegared rice and tasty miso soup. My wife was not impressed because she had sweet shrimp with flying fish roe the day before. After waiting for 25 minutes (even though all the other customers had already finished eating), I had to ask for my pork cutlet. It was a bit cold, but the soft rice and miso soup were delicious, so I enjoyed it. It's an izakaya, so I guess the experience would be better for dinner. The pork cutlet set was 890 yen and the seafood bowl was 890 yen. Thank you for the meal! (^^)v

I had been there a long time ago, but I decided to use my premium ticket for a revisit. I ordered the red wine stewed rib roast and Catalana. The first thing that came was the potato salad appetizer. I took one bite and didn't like it, so I left it uneaten. I didn't appreciate being charged for something I didn't want or enjoy! The rib roast stewed in red wine that came next was quite delicious. The Catalana that came last was neither great nor terrible, just average. If it wasn't for the appetizer, my rating would have been higher...

This is a traditional izakaya in Horobetsu. I think the seafood here is delicious. I highly recommend the raw turban shell! It is really tasty. Give it a try, you won't be disappointed. The Atka mackerel is also delicious! If you ask, they can also bring you yakitori from the neighboring yakitori shop. (The recommended one is the pork skewers from Muroran yakitori. So tasty! Pork is the best for yakitori, right?) Although the dishes are a bit pricey, they are all delicious. I love this place. The interior of the restaurant is also beautiful.

"Hogebetsu's famous izakaya 'Guuchokipa' has been around for a long time. It is a popular spot for salarymen in Hogebetsu to relax, and you can often see families coming here for dinner. The owner, who loves golf, and his son, the second generation, run this very cozy and welcoming restaurant. When you come here, you somehow feel at ease. The menu mainly consists of seafood dishes, along with fried foods and typical izakaya menu items. The prices are very reasonable, catering to the strong demand of salarymen in Hogebetsu. From what I observed, they seem to be a bit lacking in their selection of shochu, considering the variety of dishes on the menu."

The menu is extensive and the cost performance is great!

It's already mid-December, and the year is coming to an end in just half a month. It's the season for year-end parties, and I have had four events this month, making it a tough end of the year with all the expenses. One of the events I want to write about is a drinking party I attended last month at a restaurant called "Izakaya Kuichidokoi Guuchokipa" in Noboribetsu City. The event cost 4,000 yen per person, including drinks (the food was a 3,500 yen course). The restaurant is located right in front of Horobetsu Station. The food served was excellent, starting with a sashimi platter with salmon, ikura, and grated daikon. It was delicious. There was also tachipon, which I have recently come to enjoy. The creamy taste is starting to grow on me. Then, there was a dish with anglerfish on top, which had a light and tasty flavor. Unfortunately, the hot pot got cold as we were talking too much. I'm sure it would have been delicious if it had stayed warm. The braised pork was tender, and the grilled rice balls were also very tasty. Each dish was of high quality and delicious. I would love to visit this restaurant again in a more relaxed setting. Thank you for the wonderful meal. Izakaya Kuichidokoi Guuchokipa in Noboribetsu City is definitely a place worth visiting.
