[Takeout] When driving along Route 12 near the confluence of the Chitose River and Ishikari River, you will notice a large building - the Ebetsu River Disaster Prevention Station's shop. You can buy various local products from Ebetsu City there. The shop is located on the first floor of the Ebetsu River Disaster Prevention Station building. If coming from the Higashimitsucho side, you can cross the railroad crossing towards the disaster prevention station. It is a short walk of about 15 to 20 minutes from JR Ebetsu Station. On this day, I had an exciting experience as dark clouds loomed while leaving Kitamura Onsen. I managed to reach the disaster prevention station before the rain hit, and celebrated with some drinks and snacks. The milk sold here is cheaper and comes in larger quantities compared to the 500ml bottled milk. Despite the taste and flavor not being as good as bottled milk, it was a satisfying and budget-friendly choice. The unique feature of Machimura Milk is its rich sweetness even in the summer, which is quite rare.

[Takeout] Driving along Route 12 near the confluence of the Chitose River and Ishikari River, there is a conspicuous large building, the souvenir shop at Ebetsu River Disaster Prevention Station. You can buy various local products from Ebetsu City here. The shop is located on the first floor of the Ebetsu River Disaster Prevention Station building. If coming from Route 12, it is just a short distance from the bridge over the Chitose River towards Iwamizawa. It is a large building located right there. If approaching from Higashimitsucho, you can reach the disaster prevention station by crossing the railroad crossing. It is about a 15 to 20-minute walk from JR Ebetsu Station. I revisited during the day on July 19, 2023. I visit this place very often, about 2 to 3 times a week, so I don't remember the specific circumstances of this visit. It was hot, so I came to get some milk, but they were out of stock because it was Wednesday, so I ended up buying some meat to take home. The salted tongue meat had a firm texture and a salty flavor that went well with rice. The meat from Sakaki Meat is really delicious. Even with this amount, I finished two bowls of rice in no time. Sakaki Meat's meat is delicious.

This place is interesting!! You can buy specialty products from Ebetsu, and there are delicious jellies and puddings on sale. I bought a tasty bite-sized sweet made with Anno sweet potatoes and a Japanese-style pudding. The Anno sweet potato sweet was incredibly delicious, and the Japanese-style pudding was as the name suggests, a fusion of Japanese and Western flavors (lol). I wanted to try the soft serve ice cream too, but I was too full from eating at the cafeteria. I had a great time shopping at the agricultural products direct sales store, the general store, and eating at the cafeteria. I'll definitely come back. Thank you for the meal.

You can buy various local products from Ebetsu City here. The shop is located a little off Route 12, just after crossing the Chitose River bridge towards Iwamizawa. It is a large building located just a short walk from Higashimitsucho. If you approach from the Higashimitsucho side, you can reach the disaster prevention station by crossing the railroad crossing. It is about a 15-20 minute walk from JR Ebetsu Station.Visited during the day on August 28, 2022, on the way back from Iwamizawa on a hot summer day. I stopped by to shop for vegetables and take a break. Can you guess what I bought at this shop? It's the usual Mamura Milk, but in a different size. Normally, I go for the 1L size. If I had to choose between drinking ice-cold beer from a tankard or a bottle of milk after cycling over 100 km, soaking in a hot spring for over an hour, or taking a half-body bath, I would definitely choose the milk. Ice cream or soft serve may make my stomach rumble within 10 minutes, but I can drink about 500 ml of milk without any issues. It may seem like a hassle, but I pretend to be lactose intolerant externally. In fact, the milk is rich and creamy even in the summer, so they must be feeding the cows more than just grass. By the way, milk tastes lighter in the summer and richer in the winter because of the cows' diet - green grass in the summer and dried hay in the winter.

[Takeout] While driving along Route 12 near the confluence of the Chitose River and Ishikari River, there is a big noticeable building - the souvenir shop at Ebetsu River Disaster Prevention Station. You can buy various local products from Ebetsu city here. The shop is located on the first floor of the Ebetsu River Disaster Prevention Station building. If approaching from Higashimitsucho side, cross the railroad crossing to reach the Disaster Prevention Station. It's about a 15-20 minute walk from JR Ebetsu Station. [Revisit on July 7, 2022, before 5 pm] I usually drink bottled milk here, but this time I decided to go for the paper pack. The taste is definitely better with the bottled milk, but they raised the price this year, so I opted for the paper pack this time (laughs). With the paper pack, the milk tends to absorb some of the paper flavor, but with this being 500ml, it's perfect for quickly quenching thirst during the hot summer days when I sweat a lot. I gulp it down in no time. Enjoy your summer! (#^.^#)

[Takeout available] Near the confluence of the Chitose River and Ishikari River, along Route 12, there is a prominent large building - the gift shop at the Ebetsu River Disaster Prevention Station. You can buy various local products from Ebetsu City. The shop is located on the ground floor of the Ebetsu River Disaster Prevention Station building. If coming from National Route 12, cross the Chitose River bridge towards Iwamizawa, and you will find the large building just ahead. If approaching from Higashimitsucho, cross the railroad crossing towards the Disaster Prevention Station. It is about a 15-20 minute walk from JR Ebetsu Station. I passed by this place on my bicycle on June 4, 2022, and decided to stop by after greeting the staff at the shop. Although this is not a Michi no Eki (Roadside Station), it is one of my favorite spots in town, with more customers than the Michi no Eki in Usubetsu. I visit this facility about 20-30 times a year, and it is always a grateful place for me. Today, as always, the mysterious creature, Mogu, appeared in light clothing out of season. I will have some milk today. This time, for the purpose of a review, I chose the bottled milk for 200 yen. Although the paper pack of 500ml is a better deal, I prefer the image of the bottle, and the taste is completely different. When you take the bottled milk to go, they will charge you for the bottle. But if you inform them that you will drink it there, they will open it for you at the register, which is helpful for someone like me who is not good with their hands. Now, the 130ml bottle of Mamura Milk. It is originally sweet and rich, but in a bottle, it is exceptionally sweet and rich, with a flavor reminiscent of hay and corn feed. The blue grassy Cahors is not there yet. It's reassuring that the taste doesn't change much even if it's from a single ranch. After this, there are no more shops, so here is the usual review of Mogutan for the day. From Shin-Sapporo via Sunrise, through Ebetsu Disaster Station to Minamihoro, Nagano, and Kitahiroshima cycling road. Total riding time: 2 hours 24 minutes, distance: 47.49 km, average speed: 19.7 km/h, maximum speed: 48.6 km/h. In the past week, my legs have suddenly become thicker, and my weight is increasing. I'm getting closer to my career-high weight. Just a little more to go.

I visited here to see a replica of a steamship that used to operate on the Ishikari River in the past, as featured in the popular manga Golden Kamuy. It was exciting to see the Meiji-era steamship replica from below, it was quite impressive! I also visited the attached shop and was pleasantly surprised by the variety of products available. I enjoyed the local products such as milk and drinking yogurt from the Choson Village Farm, as well as soft serve ice cream in the summer. The famous Ebetsu horumon, Genghis Khan frozen meat, and bagged noodles from the local noodle maker Kikusui, as well as Haruyutaka pasta, were all very good quality and reasonably priced. The cold dried ramen from Yamataro was only 150 yen, discounted from 310 yen, and I also bought discounted curry ramen from Ajinomoto and traditional noodles from the long-established Hachiya in Asahikawa. The original cold dried ramen was a great deal at 210 yen for 2 servings, very affordable! I have never seen such an interesting shop in a public facility before, and I was very impressed. It was not crowded on this weekday afternoon, but the vegetable market, the Horumon restaurant on the second floor, and the soft serve ice cream from Choson Village Farm seem to be popular spots for families to enjoy. Overall, it was a fun experience! Personally, I liked Hachiya the most.

I stopped by the riverside disaster prevention station in Ebetsu for a restroom break on my way to work. The second floor has a restaurant, but I had already eaten lunch so I skipped it. This facility also features exhibits on local rivers and folklore, which I personally enjoy. Next, I explored the shop on the first floor. They sell typical souvenirs as well as frozen meat products like hormone and Genghis Khan. I couldn't carry them with me, so I passed on those. However, the shop offers great deals on various items. I bought a bottle of "Machimura Milk" for 160 yen. When I paid at the counter, the staff opened the bottle for me, just like I remember from old public baths. I've had this milk before, and its rich, creamy taste with high fat content never disappoints. It's been a while since I've had such delicious milk. Thank you for the meal!

I've visited this place many times. I thought I had already posted a review of the soft serve ice cream here, but it turns out I hadn't. So, while I'm here at the Horumon Shokudo, should I post a review? I ordered the soft serve ice cream from the shop, which is made with milk from Machimura Farm. It's light and delicious. This disaster prevention station could use some improvements, like having 24-hour accessible toilets. Maybe they could consider outsourcing to a private company. Anyway, I'll definitely visit this place again soon. Maybe I'll even buy an Ebetun strap next time.(笑)♫

There is a vegetable direct sales store and a restaurant that looks like a roadside station but is not actually a roadside station. It seems to be used as an evacuation center and temporary rest area for workers during disasters. It would be better if it is not used for such purposes. It is also used as a place for providing river information, and many people take a break here like a roadside station because there is a restaurant. I also bought soft serve ice cream at the store and enjoyed it very much. Thank you.

This is the Ebe River Disaster Prevention Station located along the line on August 12, 2016. It is a large facility with a spacious parking lot. The grounds are also spacious, so I visited with my beloved dog for a walk. Behind the disaster prevention station flows the Chitose River, which was quite muddy and swollen due to the recent typhoon. On the first floor of the disaster prevention station, there is a shop selling local products from Ebetsu. I bought melon jelly and cold-dried ramen. These products seem to be manufactured in Ebetsu. The Yubari melon jelly is rich in melon flavor. The cold-dried ramen comes in soy sauce, miso, and salt flavors, with one pack being enough for two servings. I tried the soy sauce ramen and found the noodles to have a good texture and quite delicious. The soup is also rich and savory. Thank you for the meal! ✿ฺ(๑´ڡ`๑)✿ฺ.

This is a shop on the 1st floor of the Ebetsu River Flood Control Station. I often stop by while visiting the vegetable direct sales store next door. Inside the shop, they sell dairy products and processed meat products made with Ebetsu city's ingredients, as well as jellies, sweets (including brick mochi), and dried noodles at very reasonable prices. You can also order town's soft serve ice cream or North Live Coffee at the register, and enjoy it in the lobby. This time, I bought various items and also ordered a hot North Live Coffee for 150 yen. The staff brew each cup individually, so I think it's worth more than the price. I also like the friendly and polite customer service from the staff.

The specialty products of Ebetsu, ranging from history books to plastic models, are lined up in the study. However, the attitude of the employees, being operated by the city, is extremely poor (visited several times). They are constantly chatting and seem bored. Ebetsu Horumon restaurant opened this year, and the tonkatsu set for 1,000 yen is a good deal. It comes with two pieces of tonkatsu made from meat from a butcher, so it's reasonably tasty. However, the way it's cut and served is unbelievable - the tonkatsu is cut into 2-4 cm chunks, which I've never seen before. The steak is tough! My jaw got tired (laughs). The sides are burnt and wrinkled, with only four thin potato sticks and thickly sliced glazed carrots. Maybe it's better to eat soft serve at the Milk Garden in Atsubetsu town - the taste changes with the cleaning of the machine. It's a shame that such a large and beautiful building is going to waste. They should come up with ways to attract more customers. What do they think their job is?

【Takeout】If you drive along Route 12 near the confluence of the Chitose River and the Ishikari River, you will notice a large building - the Ebetsu River Disaster Prevention Station's shop. You can buy various local products from Ebetsu City here. For the location of the shop, please refer to the first review if it is a one-story building of the Ebetsu River Disaster Prevention Station. Visited again on October 14, 2018, at 10:30 am. I happened to pass by on my bicycle and saw an event happening, so I decided to stop by on my way back. In the outdoor parking area, three shops from Ebetsu City are selling mainly produce harvested by local farmers. All the shops were popular, and even though it was sunny, the temperature was low, so I only bought items that I could enjoy without sweating too much. I tried the Tonden Farm's Frankfurter Sausage with garlic for 250 yen. It was cooked on a charcoal grill, crispy on the outside, and juicy on the inside. The garlic flavor was not too strong, making it easy to eat. Maybe it's because I'm used to it as a local? On that day, I also couldn't resist buying a bottle of Murai Milk for only 100 yen each! I ended up drinking two bottles. The taste of milk becomes richer as it gets colder, but I love the gentle sweetness unique to Murai milk. After this, it had been over two weeks since my usual cycling of over 50 km, and I felt that my muscle strength had decreased, feeling almost like an ordinary person. This day was sunny, so I decided to try a high-intensity training course from Shin-Sapporo to the hot spring Yurara in Iwamizawa round trip. I tried to ride at a high pace from Shin-Sapporo to Yurara on the outbound route. Along the way, I saw a group of three cyclists - two road bikes and one cross bike. The third rider seemed to be doing some cardio training. They were riding at 25-30 km/h, so I pushed to 40 km/h to overtake them. After all that, the travel time from Shin-Sapporo to Yurara was 57 minutes, covering 27.3 km at an average speed of 28.8 km/h and a maximum speed of 40.2 km/h. It seems I exerted too much effort, as I couldn't maintain the speed on the way back, taking 1 hour and 24 minutes.
