The customer service was not very friendly, they kept telling us to move our chairs in a certain way, which was a bit annoying haha. We had a reservation for around 7 pm, but reservations are a must and many groups were being turned away. I had high expectations because it's supposed to be a famous gyoza restaurant, but personally, it didn't quite live up to the many famous gyoza places in Sannomiya. It felt more like a high-level Chinese restaurant than a gyoza place. We had two stir-fried dishes (leek and vegetable stir-fry) and they were delicious with great seasoning. The fried chicken was also tasty, but the gyoza seemed average to me.

We stopped by with our usual group after work. Even though we work in the service industry, we couldn't resist the temptation of the gyoza and ended up devouring 5 servings right away. We also polished off the refill gyoza along with some beers. Other dishes besides the gyoza were also delicious. As always, chatting with the female owner was enjoyable.

On Saturday night around 8 o'clock, I decided to go out for dinner with friends. While wandering around Umeda, I suddenly remembered about Hige and decided to give them a call. Luckily, they had an opening at that time. Hige always welcomes us with a warm and friendly atmosphere, no matter when we visit. The cost performance is great, and the food is delicious. I have no complaints at all. I am truly grateful to everyone at Hige. I actually made a reservation for my next visit during my last visit, so I plan to come again soon. The total for 4 people was about 20,000 yen. The dumplings had a slight scent of cilantro but were easy to eat with a crispy skin. Several walk-in customers were turned away (although they mentioned that walk-ins without reservations could be accommodated later in the evening). The menu items are all priced below 1000 yen, making it very affordable. We ordered: dumplings, shredded pork with green peppers, fried liver, leek and bean sprout stir-fry, spring rolls, spicy stir-fried squid and vegetables, and crab meatballs. We also had beer and highballs (not listed on the menu, but available upon inquiry). The restaurant is run by a couple, so drinks may take some time to arrive, but be patient. The pickled vegetables came out quickly and we enjoyed them while waiting. The dumplings had thin skins and a light taste. Luckily, they had availability until 6:30 pm. I made it! I did it all by myself! I started with a refreshing draft beer. Since I can't eat much, I ordered the classic combo of gyoza and fried rice. The gyoza was soft and light, easy to eat. But with 7 pieces in a serving, it was more than enough for me. The fried rice was tasty and came in a generous portion. I think it's best to order a variety of dishes and share them with friends here. After about 20 minutes, I paid around 2000 yen and left.
