Continuing with the reviews of 2022, this is a chain izakaya located along the Kotoni-Sakaecho Street between the JR and subway stations in the Kotoni area. I had dinner here as I was nearby for shopping. The restaurant has counter seats, table seats, and private rooms, with a lively and bright atmosphere thanks to the energetic staff. When I entered, it was during the first round of drinks, so the place was bustling with many customers. They offer a wide range of typical izakaya menu items, with a focus on seasonal seafood dishes as indicated by the restaurant's name. My wife and I had dinner here, ordering the all-you-can-drink soft drinks (638 yen) and dishes such as aged dried Atka mackerel (979 yen), mackerel sashimi (759 yen), shredded potato fries (429 yen), potato with cheese (429 yen), spicy pork kimchi hot pot (small, 979 yen), teppanyaki sauce yakisoba (759 yen), 10 kinds of assorted salad (649 yen), salmon rice ball (209 yen), cookie cream ice cream (319 yen), and vanilla ice cream (319 yen). The prices may be slightly higher compared to major izakaya chains, but all the dishes we ordered were delicious. Personally, I really enjoyed the fatty Atka mackerel and the shredded fried potatoes. They also have private rooms available, and the all-you-can-drink alcohol option is reasonably priced, making it a good choice for parties and gatherings.

It's worth entering just for the specialty dish. First, order the Sankai Maki (half size for ¥869) and then cheers with a drink. Take advantage of the all-you-can-drink deal and have a chatty gathering. The clientele is diverse, with even children's high-pitched voices heard. The interior has private rooms and partitions separating the rest. The staff handle customers with ease, providing a sense of security. It's a casual place with a wide variety of tasty menu options. It was delicious. Thank you for the meal.

I wanted to have dinner at a place with a nice atmosphere, and I was craving some fish. I remembered that there was a restaurant called Kaisan Kai in Kotoni, so I decided to stop by. Looking at the menu, they had a good variety of sashimi. I ordered a sashimi platter and live octopus. The live octopus was surprisingly generous in portion and had a nice chewy texture. It felt quite luxurious for a casual izakaya. I was quite satisfied with the meal. If you come here, I recommend trying the sashimi.

Midsummer is in full swing! I am looking for a place to have lunch where I can escape the heat and I am focusing on quality rather than quantity. Among the many izakayas and restaurants in the Kotoni area, I walk along the bustling Kotoni Hon-dori for a while. I arrive at "Katsunisakana Shun-gyo Sankai" after walking briskly along Kotoni Hon-dori. Previously only open at night, like many other izakayas, they have now started serving lunch during this pandemic. I arrive just in time during the lunchtime hours to have a chance to eat inside the restaurant. The one-coin lunch set has variations based on the choice of Zangi, with options like Oily Chicken and Chicken Nanban sets priced at 600 yen and 700 yen respectively. Nevertheless, the cheap izakaya lunch set is still attractive. I have a relatively high personal expectation and interest in the deliciousness of "Katsunisakana Shun-gyo Sankai", so I am looking forward to it as I decide which set to choose. The Three-Color Zangi Set includes white, black, and red Zangi, each with a generous portion and freshly fried to perfection. The red Zangi is marinated in red chili peppers, giving it a crispy and spicy coating. All the Zangi pieces are crispy and flavorful, without being too salty. The set also comes with salad and pickles, providing a bit of vegetable intake. The rice and miso soup are refillable and self-service. Although I have some concerns about self-service during the pandemic, the rice is delicious and enhances the overall enjoyment of the meal when paired with the Zangi. Having miso soup also makes it feel more like a traditional set meal, which is not often included in takeout bento boxes. I did not ask for refills, but the generous portion of Zangi and the large size of the set meal left me feeling satisfied both in terms of taste and fullness.

Since the first restaurant I visited didn't have sushi dishes for the finale, I decided to go to Sankaizushi for my second choice. From the name of the restaurant, I could tell that they have a wide variety of sushi dishes, and I was excited to see a lineup comparable to a sushi restaurant. I ordered their recommended specialty, the Sankaizushi roll. It was filled with so many ingredients that I was taken aback by its thickness, but I thoroughly enjoyed it!

The person initially planned to go to a yakitori restaurant but ended up at a different restaurant due to smoking restrictions with children. The restaurant manager at the new place reserved a seat for them. The menu was different from what they were used to, with a variety of dishes. They started with all-you-can-drink, enjoyed dishes like chicken skewers and steamed clams, and found the flavors to be delicious. They wished there was more wasabi and that the scallops were more frozen. The butter sautéed scallops and steak were also tasty, with good seasoning. The steak was a bit tough if not eaten quickly but still delicious. The miso soup with scallops was a perfect way to end the meal. The menu had recently been updated, with a slightly higher price range but a good selection of dishes to enjoy with drinks.

Three of us visited the restaurant and a friend joined us later. We opted for a drink-all-you-can plan that does not include draft beer. The condition was to order one dish per person. The red wiener tofu plum crystal grain dish was average. The service from the part-time female college student was excellent. It was a completely different experience from the previous restaurant we visited. (March 2019)

Shakotan, after drinking at Kotoni Bar, the remaining members and their friends, a total of 4 people, had a second round at another place. We left Kotoni Bar a bit late, which resulted in several missed calls, but we arrived safely. We informed the staff about the change in the number of people and were guided to our seats. We didn't take many photos at this point, and we didn't take pictures of the menu, but I remember it was 780 yen per person for all-you-can-drink beer with one drink included. We also received the rights to drink beer for others who couldn't drink. The appetizer was mountain jellyfish at 320 yen each. For food orders, each person ordered one dish: cheese tofu for 390 yen, umesuisho for 390 yen, red wiener for 390 yen, and grilled wheat for 450 yen. The waitress was efficient and provided good service, which left a positive impression. Since I was a member, I received points for my purchase. The total bill was 6,501 yen including tax. After drinking for about an hour, the drinking party in Kotoni came to an end! Thank you, everyone. I took the subway without transferring and arrived home in 30 minutes without sleeping!

Visited on Saturday at 6:00 PM with a reservation for 6 people. It was a New Year's party with high school friends, and I was not the organizer. The restaurant was almost full. It is located between Kotonui Station on the subway and JR Kotonui Station. The main branch is in Tsukisamu Higashi, and there are 7 other branches in Sapporo. We ordered the "Chicken Breast Meat and Rich Soy Milk Hot Pot with Boat Assortment Course (3-hour all-you-can-drink)" for 4000 yen. The all-you-can-drink menu included bottled beer, but it was served in a glass. At first, the glasses were frozen. Despite the heavy snow outside... The food included: - Chicken Breast Meat and Rich Soy Milk Hot Pot - Boat Assortment with 5 kinds of sashimi - Cabbage and Bacon Salad These were prepared on the table first. Then, the following dishes were served in order: - Assorted Snack Plate with 5 items - Tempura of Shrimp and White Fish - Three-Point Pork Steak with Aromatic Sauce - 3 pieces of Nigiri Sushi - Ramen as the last dish - Seasonal Sorbet I tried the soy milk hot pot for the first time, and it was surprisingly light. The boat assortment included tuna, sea bream, salmon, octopus, and scallops, one piece each. The nigiri sushi was tuna, sea bream, and salmon, similar to the boat assortment but in a different style. The snack plate included meatballs, french fries, edamame, flavored quail eggs, and 3 types of pickles. The tempura was the most delicious, with shrimp, white fish, and pumpkin with matcha salt. The pork steak was quite tough. The sorbet was raspberry, I think. It was okay. The restaurant felt like a typical chain izakaya, but for 4000 yen for 3 hours, it was relatively cheap. We were quite full by the end, and the all-you-can-drink refills came fairly quickly.

On December 3, 2021, the drink-all-you-can course for one person at 3,500 yen was a bit challenging as they only had bottled beer. Despite this, a variety of dishes such as sashimi platter, hot pot, salad, and others that filled the stomach were served. Unfortunately, the focus was on drinking at the gathering, so I forgot to take pictures. Anyway, it was delicious.

I think it was my third time visiting, but if I had to choose a place to drink in Konoe, it would be either Sankai, Tonbo, or Hana no Ki! These three restaurants are amazing. I can't seem to break free from this triangle of excellence. Sankai seems to have originated from a sushi restaurant chain, so having sushi on the menu is the best! The freshness is great, the prices are reasonable, and surprisingly, they have a good selection of children's menu items, making it suitable for families. Unfortunately, the photos got deleted, so I hope to add them someday.

The food at SanKai was delicious and satisfying.

It's like a quaint little bar, with two guys. Kind of sad, isn't it? Well, let's drink! Typically, when guys get together for drinks, they start with edamame and it's a given that there won't be any salad. Beer is back on the menu after a long time! Tonight, I'm going to have a drink and head straight home! We ordered some edamame, grilled chicken harami with black pepper, crispy chicken skin salad, cheese tempura, grilled squid with mayo, various yakitori skewers, and finished off with an omelette rice. Dad had a parfait with a double scoop of ice cream for dessert! Oh, I ordered a salad, but with the high-calorie chicken skin, it's not really a salad (laughs). The food is like a slightly more creative izakaya menu, but it's not bad at all. Quite tasty. The standout dishes were the parfait! What do you call those jelly-like, crunchy shapes? They were delicious! And the omelette rice was drenched in ketchup, giving it a real ketchup kick (laughs). A tightly wrapped omelette rice is good too, but with this much ketchup, it's also delicious! I had two servings of ice cream as well, so it was a happy B-grade izakaya drinking session!
