"I went to a Western-style confectionery called Dindon in Sapporo. I was alone. Even though it was late, I decided to have ramen first. Today, I decided to go to the Nishi Ward. On the way, I saw several interesting shops but couldn't go because they were on the right side and it was too crowded. There was a cake shop on the left, so I thought it was a chance to go in. Since there was only one customer in front of me, I wanted to take a picture, but they left quickly. It was my turn, and I was thinking about what to get. The cream puffs were cheap, so I ordered two. The lady working there was really nice, speaking slowly and warmly. I wish I could be like her. The cream puffs were cookie cream puffs, with a thin crust and a strong base. The sweetness was subtle, and the cream was not too sweet. It didn't drip when cut. It was decided that cookie cream puffs are different from regular cream puffs. Which do you prefer? It depends on the shop."

I went to Hachiken for the first time and it was great that there were hardly any people walking around on a Saturday. It was easy to ride a bike and the wide roads made it stress-free. The most important part, the taste, was really delicious. Especially the rare cheesecake had a perfect balance of acidity and sweetness. It paired well with coffee or tea. I want to try a different cake next time!

After work, I visited a Western confectionery shop that I had been wanting to go to. I decided to buy some sweets and cakes this time. The shop was easy to spot with its orange sign. I purchased items such as gateau chocolat, baked cheesecake, tiramisu, and cream puffs. They also had soft-serve ice cream available for a limited time, so I ordered that as well. I enjoyed the cool soft-serve ice cream on my way home in the hot weather. The baked cheesecake and tiramisu cake that I had were delicious. The baked cheesecake had a slightly dry texture but a firm and satisfying taste. It had a refreshing sourness from the cheese, which I personally liked. The tiramisu cake was fluffy with a simple sweetness and bitterness. It was also delicious. The shop seems to have a long history, having been around for over 20 years. The sweets matched the reassuring atmosphere of the shop.

【Takeout】One of the oldest settlements in Sapporo, a Western confectionery shop near the intersection of the two main streets of Hachiken. The location of the shop is along Miyanomori, Kitaniijo-dori, towards Shimoine, about 60 meters from the intersection with 24. It's just a few minutes walk from JR Hachiken Station. Visited for the first time in the evening of June 18, 2022, and the area has changed completely since the time I used to live there, except for public infrastructure. This shop seemed to have appeared out of nowhere, so I bought some baked goods and cakes to take home. The taste of everything I bought was decent. The corn with chocolate on top looked cute and the concept was so creative that just buying it lifted my spirits. (#^.^#)

I stumbled upon this place while passing by. The old-fashioned sign gave me the feeling that this is a long-standing establishment. As I opened the door, I was greeted by the delightful smell of freshly baked bread. There were plenty of cakes, pastries, and bread... wait, no bread. I looked around but couldn't find any. I was about to buy a cream puff when I noticed a sign on the showcase that read "Loaf of Bread 440 yen." Oh! I could see freshly baked bread in the kitchen. I'll take that, please. I didn't pay close attention, but I think it said it's only available on Sundays. It was still warm, so they handed it to me without closing the bag. When I got home, I was sweating. I need to let it cool down. I couldn't resist the temptation and took a little bite. The crust was crispy and the crumbs scattered everywhere. The inside was so soft that it was hard to cut. When I lifted the sliced bread, the white part was trembling. I couldn't help but shake it playfully. Shake, shake, shake, shake. The appearance matched the taste, with a crispy crust and a fluffy interior. The flavor was very simple. It would go well as is, toasted, or in a sandwich. What a great purchase I made!

One weekend, I had lunch at a cake shop bookmarked nearby in the Yaken area of Nishi Ward. The shop has a traditional feel to it and there is no parking, so you have to think about where to park. The interior is spacious, with tables in a corner that used to be a cafe, but is not operational at the moment. I decided to buy some cakes from the display case to bring back home for my parents to enjoy. I tried the Soft Serve Ice Cream (300 yen) in a cone, which was rich and sweet, with a unique flavor. The Pudding a la Mode (432 yen) was visually appealing and heavy, with an eclair and cream puff on the side, topped with an oversized strawberry and sweet cream. The Mont Blanc (356 yen) had a strong chestnut cream flavor with white chocolate cookie on top and cream and meringue inside. The Crispy Cream Puff (172 yen) had a crunchy choux pastry filled with custard cream. Lastly, the Baked Pudding by Dindon (216 yen) had a rich egg flavor and a thick caramel sauce. Despite the competition from new cake shops, this shop has managed to keep its loyal customers. Thank you for the delicious treats.

It has been a long time since my last visit, about 10 years ago I used to come here frequently. What's great about this place is the always pleasant customer service from the staff. They see you off all the way to the entrance when you leave. Not just beautiful, but they have a good vibe that makes you want to come back again. Unfortunately, I didn't see the same person every time, but I'm excited to try their cakes again after a long time. Seeing the sign saying "20th anniversary in April" gives me hope that good restaurants like this one will continue. First, I bought two types of baked goods: Matcha something for 194 yen, Madeleine for 151 yen, Strawberry shortcake for 432 yen, Blueberry and banana tart for 398 yen, Pistachio for 388 yen, and Cheesecake for 345 yen. The strawberry shortcake had a classic shape with a sophisticated taste of alcohol. The blueberry tart was loaded with whipped cream and chunks of banana. The pistachio had a rich flavor of pistachio on a solid crust. The cheesecake was easy to eat. The matcha something was a rich and delicious baked good. These are definitely worth coming back for, and they would make great gifts. They are all delicious, and I look forward to visiting again.

【Second Post】In June 2015, the soft serve ice cream stand was back in front of the store. I decided to stop by and found out that the soft serve ice cream was back on the menu, but unfortunately the coffee jelly was not yet available. I purchased a cake to go. Here are my ratings: - Soft Serve Ice Cream: 4.0/5.0. It was smoother and tastier compared to last time, so I upgraded my rating from 3.8 to 4.0. Price: 250 yen (including 8% consumption tax). - Fleur: 4.0/5.0. A fluffy sponge cake with cream, kiwi, strawberry, peach, and chocolate. Price: 432 yen (including tax). - Apple Pie: 3.6/5.0. A crispy pie crust with well-cooked apples, raisins, and a hint of cinnamon. Price: 270 yen (including tax). The soft serve ice cream has improved in taste, and the price of 250 yen for homemade soft serve is great. I hope they start serving coffee jelly soon. 【First Post】Summer menu is here! Soft serve ice cream for a delightful 200 yen! They also have coffee jelly in Bavarian cream. Dindon is a charming Western-style confectionery shop located in Sapporo. The store has a soft serve ice cream stand outside and offers various cakes. Here are my ratings: - Coffee Jelly: 4.0/5.0. A unique dessert with Bavarian cream and coffee jelly, slightly alcoholic in flavor. Price: 367 yen. - Soft Serve Ice Cream: 3.8/5.0. Homemade milk-flavored soft serve with a smooth texture and moderate sweetness. Price: 200 yen. - Cream Puff: 3.5/5.0. A sturdy puff pastry filled with plenty of custard. Price: 157 yen. The coffee jelly was satisfying, and the soft serve ice cream was a great deal at 200 yen. I enjoyed the unique flavors at this interesting shop.

Delicious Cake! @ Sapporo Dindon October 23, 2011 Theme: Gourmet in Hokkaido, Sapporo During a recent visit to Sapporo, I had the pleasure of stopping by the delicious cake shop, Dindon. The must-try item here is definitely the "Strawberry Shortcake" with its light and fluffy sponge cake. Another recommendation is the "Cream Puff" with its crispy crust and rich custard cream filling. Although I don't get to visit often, this shop never disappoints with its tasty cakes. Rating: ★★★★☆ Shop Information: Patisserie Dindon 1F Wisteria Hachiken, 6-2-6 Hachiken 6-jo, Higashi 5-chome, Nishi-ku, Sapporo, Hokkaido

I passed by 24 Article Miyano Mori Street after a long time, and although I knew there were shops there, I didn't have a chance to visit them. It's a bit crowded near Shimoine Street, so it's a bit hard to tell if the shop is open or not from the outside. Once you enter, you'll find baked sweets on the right and cakes in the center. There were about 10 types of cookies and madeleines as well. The cakes include classics like shortcake, Mont Blanc, and roll cake. The prices are reasonable. This time, I bought a fruit cake, a cookie assortment, shortcake, Mont Blanc, recommended caramel cake, and cream puffs. The taste is easy to eat and I think it's a flavor that the whole family would enjoy. What I noticed the most was that the sponge cake here is delicious.

I went to buy some baked goods for souvenirs and ended up having cake in the store. It's a small shop with a few seats for eating in. The strawberry cake had a fluffy chiffon-like sponge and the cream was not too sweet, so you could easily eat 2-3 pieces. The creme brulee had a delicious match between the caramelized surface and the cream inside. They offer drinks like coffee and cafe au lait, and if you order them with a cake, you get a 100 yen discount. Although the variety of cakes may be limited, each one seems to have its own unique touch and all look delicious. The staff were very friendly and the shop seemed to be popular with customers coming in and out. It's so delicious that I would like to use this shop for family or friends' birthday cakes.

In the summer, I always crave soft serve ice cream every day (*^o^*) There was a soft serve ice cream statue in front of the store, so I decided to visit this place for the first time♪ I'm here for the soft serve, not the cake. The interior of the store has a very cute atmosphere (*^^*) The soft serve ice cream is only available in vanilla flavor for 200 yen♪ It's a limited edition for the summer. It tastes like homemade soft serve made from carefully selected ingredients (*^_^*) Lately, famous soft serve ice creams have been expensive, so I'm happy with the 200 yen price tag♪ The taste is like soft serve ice cream from a Western confectionery. It's a smooth and creamy white soft serve without visible vanilla bean specks. It's not too firm, but a bit soft and on the smaller side. It was delicious (*^^*) They also had regular corn cones. They also had baked goods like financiers (157 yen)!! They are delicious (*^^*) The burnt butter flavor is irresistible♪ They also had cute pear-shaped madeleines (189 yen) in plain, chocolate, and matcha flavors. There were other items available as well♪ Next time, I'll make sure to try their cakes too. They have two round tables where you can sit and enjoy your treats.

I used to frequent this place when I lived nearby. I still stop by occasionally when I'm in the Nishi Ward. It might be easy to overlook as there are no standout signs on the first floor of the building or apartment. My favorite is the square caramel-flavored cake. It's perfect for someone with a sweet tooth like me, but I've started to find it a bit too rich lately. They also have a good selection of baked goods, which are great for small gifts. The interior of the store is rather small. I don't recall there being a parking lot.

There were quite a few cakes that were on the sweeter side. I purchased Shibusto, Coffee Jelly, Dam Blanch, Caramel Box, Chocolate Eclair, Choux Cream, and Chocolate. Dam Blanch was a strawberry shortcake with thick cream and whole strawberries inside. The cream had a slightly tart taste, not just regular whipped cream. The Chocolate Eclair and Choux Cream had a lot of cream inside, to the point where it was difficult to eat without it spilling out. The Coffee Jelly was not much different from convenience store versions.

A few years ago, when I was living in Kita-ku, I visited this place a few times. The first thing I tried was the Chiboust. I bought a whole Chiboust for a friend's birthday. It cost around 1500 yen. It had plenty of cream and apple compote inside, with a nice balance of moist tart. It was a bit difficult to cut because it was a whole cake, but the shop also sells slices (a bit more expensive) so it's easier for those who don't want to cut it themselves. The next time I went, I bought a strawberry mille-feuille and coffee jelly. The mille-feuille was sweet yet refreshing, easy to eat. The coffee jelly was okay. The glass container made it heavy to carry back on foot (laughs). On another visit, I bought a variety pack of tuiles, a tea cake-like item, and a cream puff. I gave the tuiles to a friend so I didn't taste them, but they said it was delicious when we ate it together later. The tea cake (?) had a pretty sweet cream, if I remember correctly, but I don't recall much about it. The cream puff was small but had slightly sweet cream, just the right size to make you want another one. There's a small cafe corner inside, but it's a bit awkward to use alone. When I went, I saw some local ladies chatting. The shop is located on a main street but can be easy to miss if you're not paying attention. The interior is cute with a nice smell of burnt sugar. They offer a wide variety of gift sets that are easy to match to different occasions. I also saw them participating in events at the Robinsons department store basement, so they might be available at other department store basements too.
