I noticed that a Taiwanese restaurant closed down and a new Taiwanese restaurant opened up without me realizing it! Similar to the previous place, this one offers a wide variety of dishes, so I wonder if they are part of the same chain. Just like the last restaurant, the smell of star anise is subtle, and although there were no other customers, I noticed the staff chatting at the counter. I was seated at a table in the back, and they communicated in Japanese without any issues, which was reassuring and kind. The menu is quite extensive, so I had a hard time deciding, but I ended up ordering beef noodle soup and braised pork rice, along with a draft beer. Surprisingly, the braised pork rice arrived before the drinks! The portion had fewer ingredients and felt a bit cheap, but the flavor was refined compared to what I've had in the past, and it was tastefully seasoned. Though it contained star anise, the flavor was mild, making it easy for those who aren't fond of it to enjoy. It was delicious and tailored to Japanese tastes! The beef noodle soup, which I remembered being quite light in the original, had an excellent balance of richness and seasoning here; the broth was flavorful, and I couldn't resist finishing it completely. It cost around 1260 yen, but with generous chunks of meat, the cost-performance ratio was not bad at all. There are many other dishes I would like to try, so I'd love to come back with a group next time!
