On June 17, 2022 (Fri), during my second day of the early summer trip to Hokkaido, I stopped by "RALSE MART (Raruzumato) Nishibu Store" in Yoichi-cho, Yoichi-gun on my way to the accommodation for the day. I love visiting local supermarkets, so I always check them out during my travels. "RALSE MART" is a regional supermarket chain that is located in Hokkaido and northeastern Tohoku. This was my first time visiting one of their stores. I arrived around 3:30 pm. Despite it being a weekday and a somewhat odd time, the parking lot was quite full. The store isn't very large, but it had a wide variety of Hokkaido-like items (fresh fish, high-quality meat, etc.) that made browsing enjoyable. From the perspective of someone from mainland Japan... the fresh Atka mackerel at the fish section was quite rare. It must be delicious grilled at a BBQ. The Genghis Khan (grilled lamb) section was also impressive! They had various cuts of fresh lamb and frozen options. I bought some beer to enjoy in my room tonight. When in Hokkaido, you have to go for Sapporo Classic!! There was a limited edition Fighters can that caught my eye, so I chose that without hesitation. In the end, I couldn't finish most of the drinks in my room, so I ended up taking them back home as souvenirs. It was a great experience. Thank you for the meal.
