Casual lunch. A hidden gem of a restaurant on the first floor of a condominium with a small sign that is easy to miss. There were no flags or anything to indicate if they were open, so I was a bit nervous, but decided to go in anyway. I had the lunch sushi set for 1000 yen at the counter seat. I had to wait a bit until the previous customer finished their sushi. First, I had three pieces of tuna, squid, and tuna. They were freshly made right in front of me. The tuna had just the right amount of fat and melted in my mouth, with no fishy smell, and was delicious! The squid was thick but tender, sweet, and also delicious. The rice was gently seasoned with vinegar and had a slightly firm texture, perfect for sushi. For the second round, I had salmon, sweet shrimp, and surf clam. They were all simply delicious! The salmon was relatively light, while the shrimp and clam were firm and lovely! For the third round, I had egg sushi. It was fluffy, sweet, and large, which I really liked. Lastly, I had a rolled sushi with burdock root. They told me to eat it without soy sauce as it already had wasabi inside. The burdock root was sweet and salty, and the seaweed added a nice flavor. I don't usually eat burdock root sushi, so it was a refreshing experience. As a bonus, they also served me an inari sushi, made with their own rice and it was incredibly tasty! Inari sushi is a must-try for my next visit! While the portion may be small for men, the quality of the sushi in this setting for 1000 yen is hard to come by, so I highly recommend it. I will definitely come back for a light lunch!

I dropped by a nearby sushi restaurant on a whim. We chatted about old stories from Sapporo, and I ended up having three cups of sake. The sashimi had just the right amount of fat, and the sushi rice was perfectly seasoned, showcasing the skill of the chef. I really enjoy this kind of food. The chef wore wooden clogs, clacking as he moved around. We also had a lively conversation about a mutual acquaintance.

I found a great sushi restaurant - it's quietly nestled on the first floor of an apartment building facing west at North 11, West 3 (a tricky location). The curtain and lantern are modest, and the inside of the restaurant has a sense of cleanliness. There are only counter and large table seats, making it cozy. The "lunch nigiri" costs 1,000 yen. Today, they mentioned that the snow impacted their fish supply, so they asked if it was okay to serve the same type of sushi a few times. It's understandable, right? But they also served a delicious "apology abalone." And just when you think you've had enough, they probably serve a complimentary second serving of marinated mackerel...aged tuna? Quite tasty! If they had soup as well, it would be perfect! Well, for 1,000 yen, it's very satisfying. The chef is also friendly and a nice person (^。^)

At lunchtime, the sushi was almost sold out (><). I had 8 pieces of plum sushi for 1,500 yen, and the chef also gave me a complimentary scallop kappa roll. I enjoyed chatting with the chef, and the rice was perfectly seasoned. This place is perfect for a cozy lunch spot!

The sushi was very delicious and the atmosphere was very nice. It was surprising to find such a nice restaurant near Sapporo Station and Hokkaido University. It was a very good restaurant.

I went there around November after a long time. There seem to be many regular customers with long-standing relationships. Whenever I go, the sushi is never watery or chewy. It's amazing that this costs only 1,000 yen. I think it's impressive, even though I'm not very familiar with sushi.

The first-floor restaurant near Kita 12-Jo Station is new and modern, but it has a sushi restaurant-like smell. The head chef is quite old, and on weekdays, they offer a sushi lunch set for 1000 yen. On this day, it was a Sunday, and the most expensive sushi was the Matsumae for 2200 yen. The selection included flatfish, tuna, trout, scallop, button shell, sweet shrimp, abalone, scallop, sea urchin, and salmon roe (my wife preferred salmon). The sushi had a slight touch of craftsmanship, giving it a traditional charm. Even my wife, who had no prior knowledge, seemed to enjoy some of the pieces. It's not a high-end restaurant, so the ingredients were decent, and it's not overly elaborate like some modern Edomae sushi. Regardless, it's still sushi. This area is popular among students, and the weekday lunch set is affordable and worth a visit. I hope you can feel the difference compared to conveyor belt sushi.

Kiyosushi was a modern art-inspired restaurant with a beautiful and clean appearance. The counter was visually appealing, although it seemed to be made of plywood rather than high-quality wood. The overall ambiance of the restaurant was quite charming. The entrance area had a sense of style, but the building itself looked old and not very appealing. The cleanliness and freshness of the sushi ingredients indicated that they put a lot of effort into their work. The seating consisted of 8 counter seats and two tables with 4 seats each. During lunchtime, it seemed like there was only one chef handling everything, but they managed to keep up with the orders. The menu did not include items like chawanmushi or soup, but they seemed to handle things efficiently. The lunch sushi set included tuna, shrimp, salmon, scallop, boiled octopus, seaweed, and cucumber rolls. The sushi was stable and showed skillful craftsmanship. The rice was also delicious. However, at 1000 yen without any additional bowl dishes, it felt slightly overpriced and lacking in volume. The selection of fish did not feel very seasonal and seemed a bit cheap, although the tuna was made with delicious red tuna. The shrimp was peeled, making it easy to eat without getting your hands dirty. The cucumber roll was healthy with fresh vegetables. Overall, the quality and freshness of the ingredients were good, but the lunch sushi set did not feel like a great deal and seemed a bit pricey. The chef at Kiyosushi was not unfriendly and even engaged in conversation, but there was a slight stiffness in their demeanor. They seemed like a serious and dedicated artisan. Next time, trying the most expensive sushi set might be a better choice.

Sushi Kiyosushi was my first visit this time. I had been curious about it since passing by the front of the store. There are menus displayed outside the store, including lunch options, which is very convenient because you can see the prices. A fellow reviewer, "Micchans," has also reviewed this place. They offer lunch menus on weekdays. I visited with my usual companion for lunch on a weekday feeling reassured. This restaurant is located on the first floor of an apartment building in Kita Ward, Sapporo. Please check the exact location of the restaurant on Tabelog. I visited around 12:30 pm on a weekday. I parked my car in a nearby parking lot. The restaurant is on the first floor of a building and a bit hard to find. The stand in front of the store is a landmark. Inside the restaurant, there are about 6 seats at the counter and a table for 8 in the back. There were 2 customers in front of us and 1 behind us. We sat at the counter. The veteran owner, who had the air of a skilled craftsman, was running the place alone. Despite being alone, the restaurant was clean and had a slightly higher-class atmosphere than a regular sushi place. From the weekday lunch menu, I chose the "Day Nigiri." My usual companion also ordered the same. We waited a bit until the sushi of the customer in front of us was finished. Then, hot tea was served. Sushi restaurant tea is always delicious. Two pairs of sushi geta were placed on the counter with pickled ginger on top. The sushi was served in 5 rounds on the sushi geta. The lunch special "Day Nigiri" includes 7 pieces of nigiri sushi and 1 roll: 1st - tuna flatfish, 2nd - salmon squid, 3rd - mackerel scallop, 4th - salmon roe battleship, 5th - burdock roll Price: 1000 yen (including 8% consumption tax). The nigiri had the taste of a seasoned veteran, and you could feel the deliciousness. The sushi was sharper than regular sushi. The "burdock roll" was a traditional style. The sharpness of the burdock and the spiciness of the wasabi were indescribable. After eating, hot tea was served again. The owner also engaged in conversation with us. He had a smile on his face when talking. When asked where I was from, I said "Maruyama." This led to a lively conversation about the owner's favorite soba and bakery in the Maruyama area. It was a delightful time. Next time, I might try the most expensive option, the "Pine" for 2200 yen. Even the most expensive option is only 2200 yen. Thank you for the delicious meal.

This is my second visit to this restaurant. The first time, I arrived close to closing time and they had run out of sushi rice, so I couldn't eat. This time, I called ahead to confirm and visited. To my surprise, the lunch menu was very reasonably priced at 800 yen for a fresh chirashi bowl. For dinner, they offered Matsusushi for 2200 yen, Takasushi for 1700 yen, and Umesushi for 1200 yen. I was amazed by the quality and variety of the ingredients for such affordable prices. I decided to try the specialty salted salmon roe, which was made using a traditional method that gave it a great texture. The owner mentioned that the taste was reminiscent of old-fashioned flavors. The restaurant used to be located at Kita 10 Nishi 4, but now it's at Kita 11 Nishi 3, next to Fish Sakura and Sake Sakura. The interior was clean and had a calm atmosphere, allowing me to enjoy my meal leisurely.

During the day, the head chef runs the place alone. The sushi is fresh and well-prepared, with slightly firm rice that quickly melts in your mouth. The pieces are small but the balance between the fish and rice is perfect. They offer a variety of sushi toppings, including large and tender eel. The rolled sushi with gourd strips is recommended to be eaten without soy sauce, as it already has a delicious flavor. Even without the rolled sushi, you'll want to come back for more. The atmosphere inside is calming and traditional. Despite a price increase in December 2017, the cost performance is still good. Reservations are recommended for dinner to ensure you can get a table.

I felt like eating sushi for lunch, so I decided to drop by this restaurant. The prices are very reasonable, especially for eating at the counter, and the value is comparable to a conveyor belt sushi restaurant. It can be a bit hard to find the restaurant as the signage is not very prominent, but you can refer to the exterior of the restaurant that other customers have posted online. This time, I had the "Pine" set (2,200 yen), which included seasonal shrimp, sweet shrimp, a complimentary squid, and finished with salmon roe and sea urchin. The sea urchin had a lovely oceanic aroma and sweetness. The variety of toppings for this price seemed luxurious, but the portion size was a bit small, so those with a big appetite might find it lacking. The sushi rice was firm with a nice texture that easily broke apart in the mouth. Also, the tea they casually poured for me was delicious. The "Ume-Take" set is in the 1,000 yen range, and the owner mentioned that they want to make sushi more accessible for everyone and encourage a diverse range of customers to visit. They are currently in the process of redesigning the price tags for the sushi, but normally, all prices are displayed. The "Pine-Bamboo-Plum" assorted sushi set prices are also shown on the outdoor sign.

I visited the restaurant after 8pm. It was located on the first floor of a normal apartment building, and even though I often passed by the front of the shop, this time I bravely went in alone. Upon entering, I was surprised to find that despite being a sushi restaurant, there was no fishy smell! The air conditioning was set at a comfortable temperature, and the air felt fresh and clean. The sushi was reasonably priced, and while the chef may not be as extravagant as those in high-end sushi restaurants, you could really feel the care put into the sushi. I left the restaurant feeling satisfied. It was delicious. Thank you for the meal. I will definitely go back again!

I go to this place a few times a year. I'm not very knowledgeable about sushi, but I don't like watery sushi. The sushi here is not watery. The fish flavor seems rich. Is it the Edo-style work to remove unnecessary moisture? There are other sushi restaurants in the area like Hokusai, Yotsu Sushi, and Ikeda Sushi (closed), but I found them a bit watery. I also don't like it when the toppings are too big. For me, it would be easier to eat and taste better if there was a little less moisture and the fish was a bit firmer. However, I think some people appreciate the freshness and size of the toppings, so it depends on personal preference. It may be rude, but sometimes I split the nigiri sushi into two bites. When I do that, the nigiri at Seizushi can be easily bitten through with my front teeth. (I don't bite through squid, shellfish, or gunkan sushi) I used to wonder why, but when I recently ate the nigiri at Hokusai, there was a tendon that I couldn't bite through. Good sushi doesn't necessarily mean easy to bite through, but I could bite through the nigiri at Waki Tomo and Sushizen (sorry for my bad manners), so I think Seizushi is indeed a carefully made sushi. I also like the shime saba and wasabi-infused kanpyo maki. I prefer the last piece to be a roll, not tamago. The lunch nigiri set (1000 yen) includes a "lucky" piece, which could be tuna, salmon roe, or sea urchin. My lucky piece would be the kanpyo maki.

I wonder when the review was deleted? Did I forget to review it? The restaurant used to be located next to Chinman-san, across from Hokkaido University, and was a long-established place frequented by professors. However, due to redevelopment, it moved a few years ago, this time slightly further north, on the first floor of an apartment building heading from the subway 12th station towards the 13th station. "Chef, what have you been up to recently?" "Just working as an employee at a sushi restaurant." He was an apprentice of someone who had only worked in Tokyo before. The basics are a bit old-fashioned Tokyo-style work, the very first job (quite a long time ago) at the previous restaurant, such as tenderly simmered octopus and surprisingly authentic conger eel... It's completely different from the fresh sashimi sushi in Hokkaido, so I immediately asked a question I remember, such as this type of cuisine being more thorough and classical and nostalgic. It's a local sushi place that is neither cheap nor high-end, but for people in their 50s, 60s, and 70s, they nod in agreement. For younger people, the atmosphere may not be quite right, but they say, "Oh, this is what authentic Edomae sushi is like." There may be some who don't like the indecisiveness, but many regular customers come here (only during the evening drinking time, I haven't been there during the day). It's one of the five restaurants within walking distance of my house, and each one has a completely different taste. Since I was born in Kanagawa but raised in Hakodate and only come from Toretore, as a local resident... I wonder if it's Hokusai-san, then Yatsu-san, in order... There's also a conveyor belt sushi restaurant called "Kuru Kuru" in the underground of the station, so it's more about preference than superiority, but it's funny to compare them. I might be neglecting to visit them... I read DGD-san's review... Huh? Where did my review go??? Embarrassing... Is it dementia? The five-round battle in the neighborhood. Quite delicious. Delicious. (The chairman has finally retired.) It's interesting. It's like a game of choice. I think this one here is interesting... And then it's been put on hold for reasons like being crowded or the cost performance, but I wouldn't mind revisiting it later. I'm sorry.

This is a hidden sushi restaurant near Sapporo City Subway Kita 12-jo. It's located on the first floor of a not-so-attractive apartment building. The small facade has a plain white curtain. The small sign next to the entrance displays three menu options, starting from 1200 yen, making it a cost-effective sushi restaurant. I had noticed this place about six months ago, and finally decided to drop by for lunch on a weekend. The interior is predominantly white, exuding a sense of cleanliness. I sat at the counter and ordered the most affordable option, the "ume" set. The chef, who seemed quite serious, prepared the sushi diligently. The sushi was served in four pieces: squid, red tuna, flounder, and cured mackerel. Each piece had a delicious taste, with the flounder being particularly sweet. The sushi rice was slightly less vinegary than I prefer, but the size of the sushi was adequate. The salmon and ikura (salmon roe) were a perfect match, and the sweet shrimp was also delightful. Lastly, I tried the dried gourd roll, which was soy sauce-marinated and had a strong wasabi flavor. Overall, the sushi was well-prepared and presented beautifully on the white counter. Although the chef seemed quite focused on his work and less attentive to the surroundings, the experience was enjoyable. I can imagine becoming a regular at this small, stubbornly-run sushi restaurant if it were closer to my neighborhood.
