Baltika 03 has many popular shops, but it's the least crowded spot at the farthest end of the floor, making it a hidden gem. The night view is great too! The unique dishes you won’t find elsewhere are fun to try, and the flavors are more home-style than professional, making it cozy. - Spicy Chicken (Gai Wei Ji) (1500 yen): A dish made with over ten different seasonings. It's great as an appetizer and pairs well with drinks, so definitely give it a try! Though it's a bit pricey, haha. - Fried Dumplings (550 yen): Juicy and well-seasoned with a perfect crispy texture. - Chinese Steamed Bun (250 yen each): A must-have if you order shrimp chili! - Mapo Tofu (1350 yen): It tastes surprisingly homey instead of being overly authentic, with a nice kick from the Sichuan pepper. - Fish-Flavored Eggplant (Yu Shiang Qie Zi) (1350 yen): Similar to mapo eggplant, it's cooked in a soy-based sauce, with a balance of sour and sweet that makes you crave rice. - Shrimp Chili (1350 yen): This is a homey take on shrimp chili as well. I chose the lunch set that included tantan noodles and scallop fried rice. The tantan noodles were served in a shallow bowl, which made me think they would cool down quickly. When I first tried just the meat miso on top, I was surprised it was cold. After mixing it, it was no longer cold, but since the dish itself was already prone to cooling, unfortunately, I couldn’t enjoy it hot until the end. The flavor was spicy and slightly sour, and it didn’t have much sesame taste, which was not to my liking. The scallop fried rice was pretty good overall.

I made my debut at Baltica 03 (laughs). With no specific plans, I took a day off and strolled around Umeda. After wandering through Kitte Osaka, I went out for lunch. It was around 11:40, but the popular restaurants had long lines. I chose the relatively empty place and ordered a lunch set with tantanmen and scallop fried rice for 1,350 yen (tax included). It was pretty average. I could see Grand Green Osaka from there.

On Tuesday at 11:45, I visited "Sichuan Restaurant Fukuryu" located in "Balcika 03" in Umeda. I ordered the "Fukuryu Specialty Set (1,200 yen)" from the "Fukuryu Lunch Menu." For the set, you can choose one dish from "Mapo Tofu," "Shrimp and Eggs in Chili Sauce," and "Youlin Chicken." Without hesitation, I chose "Mapo Tofu." It arrived after just three minutes—very quick. The dish is generously topped with either Sichuan pepper or Japanese pepper, though I can't tell which. One bite in, and it's delicious. The Mapo Tofu is well-seasoned, offering not just spiciness and numbing sensations but a rich flavor as well. The tofu is silken and cut into larger pieces, and the sauce has a strong thickness. Personally, I found the amount of minced meat to be a bit lacking, but that's entirely a matter of personal preference. The founder of this restaurant, Mr. Yoon Dong-bok, began his journey at the young age of 16 in 1962, when he apprenticed under Chen Kenmin, known as the father of Sichuan cuisine, at the "Roppongi Sichuan Restaurant." He honed his skills at various prestigious dining establishments and hotels, eventually serving as the executive chef at the "Miyako Hotel" in Tennoji. In July 2000, he opened "Fukunou," the first specialty Dan Dan noodle restaurant in the Kansai region. For 60 years, he has dedicated himself to Sichuan cuisine, relentlessly pursuing new flavors and delicious dishes. After this experience, I’m definitely curious about trying the "Shrimp and Eggs in Chili Sauce" and "Youlin Chicken" next. Thank you for the meal!

Char siu is delicious! The mapo tofu’s spiciness and numbing effect are quite mild, which is the opposite of what one might expect from Sichuan cuisine, but it has a strong umami flavor and a good broth essence, making it quite delicious! The scallop fried rice is also delicious! The menu includes pepper and lemon sour, steamed dumplings with char siu, a trio of dumplings with jade dumplings, shrimp dumplings, and shark fin dumplings, mapo tofu, and scallop fried rice.

I had high expectations for the flavor, but it was just an ordinary taste. The portion size is substantial, so I think even men can feel full after eating. I liked that each table had a drawer with chopsticks and other items inside. However, there was a pillar in the middle of the restaurant, which made it hard to see or call over the staff when I wanted to order, so it took a while for them to come, which was disappointing.

I had my first lunch at Baltika 03. Since it was right in the middle of lunchtime, everywhere was packed with customers. Looking around, I spotted a newly vacant seat and decided to take it. From the lunch menu, I chose mapo tofu. The seasoning was quite flavorful with a good amount of spiciness, but I thought it would be fine for kids to eat, so those who really love extreme spicy food might find it a bit lacking. I also thought it would be nice if the table were a little bigger.

Overall, I feel it deserves a score of 3.0. The volume is relatively small for the price, so I don't think the cost performance is that great. Personally, I found the fried rice to be the most delicious. The speed of service was average.

Located on the 4th floor of Innogate Osaka Balchika 03, this casual eatery offers authentic handmade Sichuan cuisine. I had planned to visit for lunch, but ended up going for dinner with some acquaintances for my first visit. While other shops around were quite busy, Fukuryu was relatively empty, making it easy to get a table. Sitting by the window offered a nice view of the nighttime cityscape, which was a pleasant surprise. The menu features various dishes, but they seem to be priced a bit higher, reflecting the typical commercial center prices. We ordered: - Spring rolls - Dumplings - Fried rice - Yurinchi (fried chicken with a tangy sauce) - Mapo tofu - Ebi mayo (shrimp in mayonnaise) We spent about two hours there, and I felt the portions were somewhat on the smaller side for three people; if it were just men, they might want to hit a second spot afterward due to the volume. The redevelopment is progressing rapidly at the west exit of Osaka Station, and many new commercial facilities are opening. I had lunch at one of these places, Baluchika 03. This time, I ordered the Mapo Tofu lunch for 1,200 yen. To be honest, I was disappointed with both the quantity and the taste. Although it should have been freshly made, the Mapo Tofu was lukewarm, and the portion was so small that it seemed like just a scoop carefully placed on a thin plate. I had high expectations, so it was quite disappointing.

Either way, it doesn't matter much to me. 【Order】I selected the noodle set, which included tantanmen and a mini mapo tofu bowl for 1,350 yen. The noodle plate was a rare shallow and wide type, and the tantanmen soup was delicious, but the plate was at room temperature, and the noodles were a bit loose... Hmm, since it's a lunch set at that price, I wish they would at least present the noodles better. Haha. I had lunch at a Chinese restaurant in Inogate Osaka, where I tried the tantanmen set. It seems that their main branch is located in Nihonbashi, and they specialize in tantanmen. The tantanmen was rich and I finished it in no time. The level of spiciness was just right for my taste. The scallop fried rice that came with the set was also delicious and fluffy. There are several other types of lunch sets available, and they offer a wide variety of à la carte options for dinner as well. I definitely want to visit again.

There are two types of lunch sets, both made from popular menu items. This time, I had the noodle set "Fukuryu Dantan Noodles and Half Scallop Fried Rice." The dandan noodles had a sour broth with a slight spicy aftertaste, but the heat wasn't overwhelming, making it easy to eat. The vinegar-like acidity helped to balance the spiciness. Both the noodles and broth were warm, although I'm not sure if that's the standard. The fried rice had plenty of small scallops mixed in, and the rice was nicely separated. The seasoning was just the right amount of salt. To place an order, I had to scan a QR code to access LINE and input my gender and birthdate, but since the lunch set wasn't listed, I ended up having to ask the staff to take my order. Chopsticks, wet wipes, mustard, and toothpicks were stored in the drawer of the table.

I got this recommendation from a follower who is an expert in Chinese cuisine, and the main store only serves lunch on Sundays, making it difficult to visit. During lunch, I ordered the Tan Tan Noodles and Half Scallop Fried Rice using a QR code. This is my second visit to the Innogate Osaka location, and I noticed that ordering via QR code seems to be the trend here. The Fukuryu Tan Tan Noodles and Half Scallop Fried Rice I received were just as described on the menu; the noodles didn’t feel overly spicy, yet I could savor the rich flavors, and the scallop fried rice was well-prepared—full of scallops, fluffy, and not greasy at all. For my next visit, I’m looking forward to trying the cool, slippery cold noodles. After posting this review, I won a fifth prize in the lottery, my first win since Wednesday!

The much-anticipated commercial facility "Balcika 03" has finally opened in Umeda, Osaka! On the day it opened, I thought I'd check it out. There were so many shops, and I wandered around trying to decide where to go, but most places were quite full. Anyway, I was hungry, so I headed to a relatively empty place. That’s how I ended up at Fukuryu. I arrived around 4:30 PM, and a male staff member welcomed me and guided me to my seat. From the window seat, I could see the evolving landscape of Umeda. Now, let's cheers with a drink! Here’s what we ordered: **[Food]** - Mapo Tofu ¥1350 - Cold Mixed Noodles ¥1300 **[Drinks]** - Draft Beer ¥638 - Matsurika Jasmine Tea Highball ¥528 --------------------------------------- **Mapo Tofu** Since it’s a Sichuan restaurant, I thought it would be quite spicy and numbing, but it had just the right amount of heat and a mild taste. I could really taste the unique flavor enhanced by scallops, which was unexpectedly delicious. Visually, it looked ordinary, but it exceeded my expectations in a good way. **Cold Mixed Noodles** I was initially thinking of ordering Dan Dan noodles, but since I saw the summer limited menu that looked good, I decided to try it. You can choose between lemon soy sauce or sesame sauce, and I went with lemon soy sauce. The ingredients included jellyfish, shrimp, steamed chicken, egg, and lettuce.
