I have completely come to like this place, so I wouldn't come back multiple times unless it was really good. But there's no helping it. - Soy sauce ramen 830 yen Yes, it's definitely gotten tastier. The pork bone flavor is strong and there's no unpleasant smell. Maybe they don't need the catchphrase "More like zangi" (unless they really want to focus on zangi, haha). I'll definitely come back again. Thank you for the meal! (^o^)

After finishing golf, I decided to have ramen at Toratetsu along Route 12 in Atsubetsu Ward for the second time. My favorite is the spicy miso ramen, but today I went with the shrimp miso ramen! I ordered the zangi set meal and changed the rice to egg. The shrimp miso ramen was sweet and creamy.

The review for a ramen restaurant in the Atsubetsu area along Route 12. The restaurant, Toratetsu, is a chain known for its energetic presence in Sapporo. The new location is clean and bright, with a variety of seating options. You order from a ticket machine, choosing from a menu that includes classic ramen, aged miso ramen, shrimp miso ramen, spicy miso ramen, and hearty zangi. I ordered the popular aged miso ramen (¥850) and added a zangi set (¥250). The ramen had a rich, animal-based broth that felt heavy to me, but would likely appeal to those who enjoy that style. The zangi set was generous and left me very full. While tastes may vary, the reasonable prices make it a good option for those craving a satisfying meal.

I tend to go to my favorite ramen shop for lunch, but decided to try something new today. I was curious about "Menya Kotetsu" so I gave it a try for the first time. They offer free toppings like green onions (extra or removed), bamboo shoots (extra or removed), and you can choose the firmness of the noodles. Plus, if you add them on Line app, you can get a free seasoned egg as a topping. The miso ramen had a smooth miso flavor with a balanced spiciness from ingredients like doubanjiang. You can also adjust the spiciness to your liking with their homemade spices. The ramen was flavorful and filling, and I can see why it's popular. It was a delicious meal.

My wife seems to really like this place, as it always comes up as a ramen option. I want to try out ramen shops I've never been to, but I have to listen to my wife's wishes occasionally too haha. I went with the tsukemen (200g) for 880 yen. I debated getting the miso flavor, but ended up choosing this one. The rich tonkotsu broth with a hint of seafood flavor, topped with fish powder. The curly thick noodles held up well to the intense soup. It wasn't exactly my favorite, but it was still a delicious bowl of ramen. Personally, I wish they had a lighter tsukemen option available (not many choices, huh). Next time, I'll try the miso flavor! Thank you for the meal (^o^)

Consadole Project Special Thick Niboshi (dried sardine) Tanmen Zangi Set for 1,100 yen. I happened to visit when they were offering a limited edition Consadole project menu, and at the Atsubetsu branch, they had my favorite Niboshi (dried sardine) Tanmen! It seems like each branch has different special items. I was torn between the Aragoshi miso or Ebi (shrimp) miso, but decided to go with the limited edition. The Tanmen with lots of vegetables and fish powder was described as a thick Niboshi flavor, but to me, it wasn't overly rich and was just right in terms of flavor. As for the Zangi set, you can choose the rice size, and I opted for the large 240g. The condiments like furikake, noritama were a nice touch. I only got one piece of Zangi. The Zangi here is as big and delicious as ever, I love it. In the end, I was satisfied and full from the delicious meal. The generous portion for this price is definitely worth it.

☆First Visit on July 5, 2022☆ Today I went to the hospital in Atsubetsu for a health check-up at work. I had a smooth process from the 9:30 am reception to completing the barium test. I had to wait a bit for the final examination, but everything was finished by 10:45 am. Thanks to my diet, various numbers have decreased compared to last year, and I received a little praise (laughs). So, since I skipped breakfast, I'm going to eat ramen! I'm planning to go to work today, so I decided to stop by a restaurant on the way back. It seems like this restaurant chain has been rapidly expanding. I haven't been to any of their stores yet. I managed to get the pole position this time. The restaurant is clean and it doesn't seem like it's been open for long. I think I ordered a simple white miso ramen. And there's something called a free tuning where they give you extra toppings like bamboo shoots and green onions for free. I love bamboo shoots, and I like green onions too, so I asked for extra of both. It arrived in 8 minutes. It had a simple appearance with no frills. It's extra toppings, but it's not overwhelmingly generous. Well, it's free, so I didn't have high expectations. First, the soup. Yeah, it has a gentle and mellow miso flavor. It seems like their selling point is aged miso, but for an empty stomach, I think this kind of flavor is better. It was decent, nothing special. It was just a normal miso ramen. Their fried chicken seems to be popular, but they don't offer it as a standalone item. It only comes with a rice set, so I probably wouldn't order it. But if you read the menu carefully, you can change the rice in the set to a soft-boiled egg or oolong tea. Maybe I'll ask for the soft-boiled egg and try the fried chicken next time. Thanks for the meal!

After the match of Hokkaido Consadole Sapporo at Sapporo Dome, I was at Menya Kotei Atsubetsu, a club partner of Consadole for the 2022 season, wearing a replica uniform and eating their shrimp miso ramen. Shrimp miso ramen is delicious. I had been avoiding it until now, but it's so tasty that I regret not trying it sooner. The fried chicken (zangi) is also delicious. I will definitely come back. Thank you for the meal.

After finishing a golf competition, we didn't have a meal together due to COVID measures, so on the way back, we stopped by at Toratetsu for ramen! Although this Hokkaido chain store is famous for their miso ramen, I decided to try their shrimp miso ramen. The shrimp flavor was rich and spread with just one bite. It was more flavorful than I expected, with a subtle miso taste and a strong shrimp shell flavor. By the way, it was nice that they asked if I wanted the bamboo shoots removed. (//∇//)

I also tried the limited-time miso champon this time. It was delicious and satisfying with a generous amount. It had lots of squid and shrimp in it. It's always crowded here. This area along Route 12 seems to be quite competitive, but there are always many people visiting. My companion had tsukemen. It was the first time I saw black shichimi, I didn't know such a thing existed.

★Shio Ramen 790 yen + Zangi 2-piece set meal 300 yen Located along the Atsubetsu Route 12, this ramen shop that specializes in Zangi is open until late, which is very convenient. You can purchase your food ticket at the vending machine and choose your favorite seat, including the raised seating area with a TV. As usual, I ordered the Shio Ramen, and with a coupon, I got a free topping of boiled egg and extra bamboo shoots and green onions at no additional cost. The soup was... a bit lukewarm, which is good for those with sensitive tongues, but it was a little off-putting for me. For an additional 300 yen, I got a set meal with 2 pieces of Zangi, with the option to choose between soy sauce and salt flavors. The Zangi was quite large, but it seemed like it was pre-made and not freshly fried. It came with mayonnaise and slightly wilted cabbage on the side, along with a serving of rice that you can get in different sizes for the same price. Overall, the cost performance is good, but the lukewarm temperature was a major downside. Thank you for the meal.

I visited during lunch break. It was almost 2 o'clock and I thought the peak time had passed, but since it was a holiday, more than half of the seats were taken. I had the aged, coarsely ground miso ramen. I had tried this menu at another affiliated restaurant a while back, but at that time, I felt more of a seafood flavor, which stood out more. Today, the umami flavor was well balanced and delicious. They also offer tsukemen with thick noodles, so I would like to try that next time. The zangi (fried chicken) seems to be popular as well, so I would like to try that too next time. Thank you for the meal.

That's right. I hadn't been to this place before. I had forgotten about it (^^) Now I have visited all the Toratsune locations in Sapporo except for the Kiyota store. It's not like achieving this makes me feel accomplished, but it's fun (laughs). I ordered the same thing I always do at the ticket machine: Special Soy Sauce Ramen and one piece of Zangi set. This is consistent across all Toratsune locations (laughs). I like the Special Soy Sauce flavor, plus ordering the same thing helps me compare the differences between each store (^^). I sat at the left end of the counter and when the staff came to get my ticket, I also made some adjustments: Zangi with soy sauce, medium rice, extra green onions and bamboo shoots, and normal noodle firmness. I also used the service ticket to add a boiled egg topping. The male staff brought out my food in about 4 minutes and said, "Special Soy Sauce, extra green onions and bamboo shoots, with boiled egg topping. It's hot, be careful." But he forgot to say "please enjoy" or "take your time" (´・ω・`). The Special Soy Sauce at Toratsune is consistent across all locations. I'm not sure, but I think they have a central kitchen. The noodles here are also homemade. Having a central kitchen would make things more efficient (^^). Also, Toratsune uses a different kind of toothpick, not the usual kind. It's like dental floss or something? Personally, I'm not a fan of it. I prefer regular toothpicks for picking my teeth (laughs). Despite being a chain restaurant, Toratsune is quite organized. It's great that there's no variation in taste, but there can be differences in noodle cooking and customer service at each location. For me, I enjoy the variations in customer service between stores. It's not mechanical, so it can be delicious or not depending on the mood (laughs) ♫

I visited a new ramen shop called Tora Tetsu. I'm not particularly fond of ramen, but it's been a few years since I last had it, and I feel like my preferences have changed a lot, so I decided to give it a try. My wife also wanted to go. I read a review saying that their salt ramen is delicious, so I ordered the "Salt Ramen" for 780 yen. You can get free toppings of green onions and menma, so I asked for extra green onions! The staff seemed a bit lacking in motivation, but customer service should always come with a smile! The salt ramen was slightly sweet, but it had a rich white broth. It's quite good, isn't it? I would have been happier if the sweetness was toned down a bit, but that's how white broth soup tends to be. The taste is quite different from what I remember from before. I think salt ramen wasn't even on the menu at first. It's a good thing that flavors evolve over time. I'll have to try their classic miso ramen next time. Thank you for the meal!

Tsukemen is one of my favorite dishes, so I enjoy trying different tsukemen restaurants from time to time to compare the flavors. One of my favorite tsukemen places recently opened a new branch, and I decided to give it a try for lunch. The restaurant is called Menya Kotei Atsubetsu. Upon entering the restaurant, I noticed a ticket machine where you can choose your portion size (200g for 790 yen, 300g for 880 yen). I opted for the 200g portion and took a seat at the counter. The broth was a double soup made from pork bone and seafood, with a slightly stronger seafood flavor. The consistency was good, with a slight thickness and a slightly higher salt content, which I liked. The noodles were similar to those at another restaurant I enjoy, with a whole wheat flour base and a thicker texture. However, I found the noodles to be a bit slimy and lacking in chewiness. Other toppings included fish powder on the noodles, two slices of chashu (I used a coupon for an extra slice), a half boiled egg, and a small amount of bamboo shoots (I requested extra but it was still minimal). The egg was flavorful, and I appreciated the option to add toppings like crushed garlic and black pepper from the condiment station. I also tried the soup wari (diluted soup), but found it too salty and lukewarm. Overall, the tsukemen at Menya Kotei Atsubetsu had both positive and negative aspects. I may return in the future to see if anything has changed. My partner enjoys fried chicken, so we may visit again to try the zangi.

Visited for the first time on February 23, 2019, marking my 39th visit of the year. My wife's errand was scheduled to finish at 5 pm, so we decided to have a late brunch or early lunch before picking her up. We ended up at Menya Kotei Atsubetsu, a new location that I didn't know existed. While I do enjoy their fried chicken, I can't say the same about their ramen. However, as a food blogger, I like to try out new places. We arrived at the restaurant around 4 pm, and it wasn't too crowded. I purchased a ticket for their "Aged Miso Ramen" and opted out of the fried chicken set this time. The ramen arrived quickly, within 5 minutes. The restaurant's new building was clean and had a fresh feel to it. The ramen looked decent, and I started by tasting the soup. The miso flavor was more like a blended miso, with a moderate amount of salt and a subtle broth taste. The noodles, reportedly homemade, reminded me of Mori Sumi noodles, which I enjoyed. The stir-fried vegetables were minimal and a bit chewy, and I skipped the seaweed. The bamboo shoots were average. The pork belly slices were decent but lacked flavor. Overall, the ramen was okay, but not exceptional. It's probably above average for a chain restaurant, but it didn't quite meet my personal preferences. The price wasn't cheap either, so I think having the fried chicken set might make the meal more satisfying. I look forward to trying it with the set next time! Thank you for the meal.

Salt ramen for 780 yen. It was my first time at Kotetsu (*゚ω゚)ノ. It opened near my home at the end of last year, but I wasn't really motivated to go (^^; I decided to go before the restaurant closed, with the thought of trying it out before it disappeared. The two choices for a late dinner were either here or Tokiwadai Ramen... I was torn (´Д` )← rude, sorry. There was a coupon flyer posted the day before, so I chose Kotetsu! The parking lot was full of cars, but surprisingly not crowded inside. I bought my meal ticket from the machine. The salt ramen had a completely white soup! A very light pork bone flavor? I'm not quite sure, but it had a well-balanced taste typical of chain restaurants, not bad at all. I added an extra slice of chashu with the coupon. The chashu was delicious and without any strong flavors. The menma had 2 pieces... I should have added more of this instead (;´∀`). By the way, does the owner of this place look like Okurahoma's Kono? I thought so, and it turned out to be him ( ̄▽ ̄;). Thank you for the meal (^ω^)

Today's ramen journey takes us to "Menya Kotei Atsubetsu Store" in Atsubetsu-ku, Sapporo City, which opened in December last year. Located along Route 12, this ramen shop has a spacious parking lot. The "Aged Miso Ramen" features a light blended miso soup and medium-thick curly noodles. Extra bamboo shoots and green onions are provided for free. I used a grand opening coupon to add two slices of chashu as a topping. The "Soy Sauce Ramen" has a rich soy sauce soup with pork back fat and medium-thick curly noodles. The sweet soup coats the noodles well, making it a delicious bowl. Although the chain has a good reputation for ramen, the service may need improvement as the store is still relatively new.

I had been thinking about trying this place on Route 12 for a while, and finally got the chance to go. The parking lot is spacious, but quite a few cars were parked there. I saw three cars with people inside, so I wondered if there was a wait. However, there were empty seats at the counter visible from the parking lot. Despite the number of cars, the inside wasn't as crowded as I expected. There are counter seats, regular tables, and a raised seating area. Since it was my first time, I wasn't sure what to order, so I went with the Hormone Ramen and Soy Sauce Ramen with boiled egg topping. The guy who brought my order mentioned that I could get extra green onions and bamboo shoots now, so I asked for extra green onions in the Soy Sauce Ramen and extra of both in the Hormone Ramen. While waiting, I noticed from the menu on the table that they seem to specialize in fried chicken. They offer a discount if you add fried chicken to your ramen. I regretted not ordering any. They have salt and soy sauce flavored fried chicken, and I wanted to try it. The ramen arrived. The extra green onions in the ramen were quite a lot. The boiled egg was perfectly cooked and delicious. There were no toothpicks on the table. Water is self-service, but the cups provided were wet. The water container was filled too high, causing spills when pouring. When I returned to the parking lot after finishing my meal, there were still two cars with people inside. I couldn't tell if they were waiting for a table or just parked without eating. There were also three cars, including an employee's car, covered in snow on the roof, giving the impression that the parking lot was crowded. However, there were plenty of seats available inside, so it's best not to be discouraged by the appearance of a busy parking lot.

This time, "Toratetsu" is said to be opening a new store in Atsubetsu-ku, specifically in Atsubetsu Higashi 5-jo 4-chome along Route 12. As always, please check the exact location on the map on Tabelog. I was curious about this news, so I visited the store right away. Upon arrival, I parked in the available parking lot and entered the store. Surprisingly, there were 7-8 customers waiting for a seat. I wrote my name on the list, checked the menu on the ticket machine, and as usual, pressed the button for "Shio Ramen" to receive my ticket and waited for a seat. After about 10 minutes, I was guided to a counter seat by the staff and handed over my ticket. It occurred to me that this was my first time trying Shio Ramen at "Toratetsu". In the past, when I visited during the opening hours, the menu was limited and mostly consisted of shoyu ramen. The Shio Ramen arrived in about 7-8 minutes, and I found out that the soup was a light tonkotsu-based shio soup, easy to drink but slightly salty. The noodles were medium-thick, yellow, curly, and had a slightly higher water content, typical of Sapporo noodles that are familiar to Sapporo locals. As for the toppings, there was one slice of chashu, menma, wakame, fu, chopped green onions, and white sesame sprinkled on top. Additionally, to celebrate the opening, a boiled egg was served as a complimentary topping. It seems that more customers at this restaurant prefer to order the Zangi set meal, which offers better value compared to ordering ramen alone. Next time, I plan to order the Zangi set meal and make sure to take the Zangi home with me.
