Total rating on Tabelog: 3.64 Date of visit: May 27, 2023, Saturday, 18:45 Ordered: - Potage Chicken White Broth Ramen with Flavored Egg (extra-large) for 1,050 yen - Yuzu Pepper Rice (regular size) for 130 yen - Weekly limited Chicken and Burdock Thick Dipping Noodles (extra-large) for 1,120 yen - Burnt Cheese Rice (regular size) for 130 yen Upon arrival at the restaurant, there was no wait and we were seated immediately. The interior had a stylish atmosphere with a counter seating for 7 and 3 table seats, with 2 groups of customers already present. The restaurant had a sophisticated look that was different from the typical ramen shop. Originally planning to order dipping noodles and soup noodles, we were swayed by the appeal of the limited dipping noodles and both ended up ordering that. The noodles were flat, medium-thick whole wheat noodles that looked delicious, but in terms of taste, they were just average. The soup, on the other hand, was exceptional! Both versions had a rich and flavorful taste, but the limited one was outstanding! It had a depth of flavor that was reminiscent of French or Italian cuisine, and it was incredibly delicious. The combination of the finishing rice and soup was also excellent. Considering the ambiance of the restaurant, the rich soup, and the harmonious flavors, it's easy to understand why many restaurants with French or Italian-trained chefs excel in creating such exceptional dishes. This restaurant reignited the same level of excitement I experienced at another top 5000 ramen shop in Kami-Shinjo, run by a chef with a similar background.

I saw a tomato dipping noodles dish on SNS and it caught my interest, so I decided to visit this restaurant during my lunch break. I arrived at the restaurant around 12 o'clock. The restaurant is located about a 5-minute walk from Tsukamoto Station East Exit, along the Yodogawa Avenue. I was really in the mood for tomatoes, but to my dismay, the tomato dipping noodles were no longer on the menu as I saw outside the shop. Feeling shocked, I entered the shop and was seated at the counter. I opened the menu and noticed that although they still recommended chicken white broth ramen, the menu seemed to have changed a bit. Since I was in the mood for dipping noodles, I ordered the Potage Chicken White Broth Dipping Noodles. It was served in about 10 minutes, and I dug in immediately. The dipping sauce, made from chicken white broth and vegetable potage base, was on the richer side, so I was advised not to dip the noodles for too long. The dish came with green onions, and the noodles were topped with both chicken and pork chashu. The noodles were chewy and delicious. The dipping sauce was indeed rich, but tasty. I found myself wanting some white rice to go with it. It was so delicious that I finished it quickly. Although there was still quite a bit of dipping sauce left, I couldn't drink it all as it was quite intense. They recommended having a "finishing rice," but I was already quite full, and the restaurant was getting crowded, so I decided to save that for another time. I would like to come back at night for some ramen and drinks. Thank you for the meal.

Today, I went to Men Dokoro Iidaya. They offer a student discount, so I showed my student ID and ordered the special egg over rice. I also tried the ramen with special toppings. The egg over rice came with four condiments: kelp pickles, wasabi, bonito flakes, and truffle extract. The soy sauce they used was sweet and matched well with the spiciness. The ramen had a chicken broth base with a choice of salt or soy sauce, and I chose soy sauce. The soup was smooth and easy to drink. They offer options for rice, including plain rice, rice to finish the meal, and the special egg over rice. Next time, I plan to try the rice to finish the meal. Personally, I found the noodles to be very good at absorbing the soup.

●I would go back again if I happen to be nearby, as I didn't particularly enjoy the chicken white broth alone, but the burdock tsukemen I had last time was delicious and worth another visit. ●The soup is foamy, with a sharp salty taste at first. Then the chicken aroma comes through, followed by a creamy richness. The soup itself is light and smooth. However, the saltiness is overpowering, making it feel a bit one-dimensional. ●The noodles are wavy, medium-thin flat noodles. Smooth and slightly soft, with a good balance with the soup and a nice wheat aroma. ●Toppings include 2 slices of moist and thick chicken chashu, and 2 slices of seasoned and moist pork rare chashu with a good pork aroma. Onion fry, menma, and green onions are also included. The onions have a deliberate spiciness and bitterness, which may not pair well with the light soup. ●In terms of cost-performance, at 1000 yen for the default chicken white broth salt ramen, it may not be considered high value. ●The atmosphere inside the restaurant is clean and stylish, but I felt the owner and staff had a negative vibe. They seemed unfriendly, which stood out even more when they tried to be overly cheerful during interactions.

2023-185th Cup (July 20th) ⭐Special Potage Chicken Broth Dipping Noodles @ Men-dokoro Iidaya Address: 1F, 2-13-18 Tsukamoto, Yodogawa-ku, Osaka City, Osaka Prefecture Nearest Station: Tsukamoto Station - 6 minutes on foot Closed on Wednesdays Business Information: Twitter Instagram TP 3.65 (231 reviews) Osaka Prefecture 138, Osaka City 101, Yodogawa-ku 10 Visited on a weekday evening in July, first time at this Italian and French-inspired ramen shop. Opened in 2016. Arrived at 7:00 PM and was seated immediately at the back of the counter. Ordered: ⭐Special Potage Chicken Broth Dipping Noodles ¥1600 Nagoya Cochin Soup Top-up ¥70 Total: ¥1670 Ingredients included chicken and pork chashu, flavored egg, bamboo shoots, sprouts, and green onions in the dipping sauce. The noodles were about 2x5mm in thickness, made with whole wheat flour, high water content, straight thick noodles with a glossy, transparent appearance and black whole wheat flakes on the surface. The texture, length, and wheat flavor were excellent. The dipping soup had a rich vegetable-based chicken broth with a substantial depth of flavor. It reminded me of the famous Hanamokoshi in Fukuoka. The Nagoya Cochin Soup Top-up was an additional charge, but after tasting it, I understood why. The soup was incredibly delicious, and adding it enhanced the overall experience. Highly recommended to add it all in for an extra flavorful broth.

I'm on the lookout for limited-time menu items, and I found one that caught my eye. I missed out on it last year, so this year was my first time trying it. Since the large size was free, I naturally ordered it. I also ordered the rice for the finale. The dipping sauce was a rich chicken broth and tomato fusion. The sweet and sour aroma of the tomato combined with the acidity created a well-balanced and refreshing yet rich dipping sauce. The addition of oil increased the viscosity slightly, making it adhere better to the noodles. Fresh tomatoes were also included, creating a delightful tomato-on-tomato experience, almost like Italian cuisine. In the first half, I enjoyed the acidity and umami of the tomato, while in the second half, I added the spicy chili oil for a bit of heat. The change in texture due to the olive oil-like oil made it enjoyable twice. The noodles were whole wheat medium-thick straight noodles, providing a chewy texture that complemented the dipping sauce well. Although the restaurant does not recommend "dobozuke" (dipping the noodles in the sauce), the delicious dipping sauce made me do it anyway. Despite ordering a large portion of noodles, I always end up needing to adjust the dipping sauce towards the end. Fresh basil on top of the noodles added a vibrant aroma when mixed with the dipping sauce. The rare char siu (roasted pork) paired excellently with the dipping sauce. The moist and chewy chicken breast meat was also delicious, as were the tomato and cheese. Lastly, I left a little bit of rice and poured the remaining dipping sauce over it, creating a delightful blend of the burnt cheese aroma and tomato soup. It was a match made in heaven! It was so delicious.

Visited in July 2023. At the time of posting, the restaurant had a rating of 3.65 on Tabelog based on 240 reviews. I went to try the limited-time offer, "Pomodoro Tomato Tsukemen," priced at 1,100 yen, with an additional option of "Charred Cheese" for 130 yen. The base is chicken white broth, and the noodles come with a Caprese topping (tomato & mozzarella cheese), giving it an Italian touch. The rich chicken white broth combined with the sweet and sourness of the tomato makes for a delicious combination. Adding the aromatic olive oil provided on the side enhances the flavor even more. The whole wheat flat thick noodles have a chewy texture and a pleasant wheat flavor. After finishing the noodles, I tried the "Charred Cheese" with white broth tomato soup and rice, resembling an Italian risotto. It was undeniably delicious.

[Iida Family Noodle Shop] @Osaka Ripe Tomato Tsukemen Regular ¥1,100- Point: ★★★★☆ Tabelog 3.65 ・The other day, I went to the renowned chicken broth ramen shop in Osaka, Iida Family Noodle Shop, with @toripaitanmasarun. ・I ordered the highly anticipated limited edition Ripe Tomato Tsukemen! This dish uses ripe tomatoes with a fruity and rich flavor, blending perfectly with the animal-based umami of the chicken broth to create a Western-style dipping sauce. The dish also includes wheat noodles with a rich flavor and a pleasant texture, Caprese, and two types of chashu. ・You can also enjoy flavor variations with aromatic olive oil. Whether you love tomatoes or not, this ultimate dish is a must-try. It will be available until around July or August, so be sure to try it during the summer! ・#Ramen #Tsukemen #KansaiRamen #Tomato #OsakaRamen

I went to try the limited-time tomato dipping noodles at this refreshing ramen shop. It was very easy to eat and felt more like eating pasta than traditional dipping noodles. I also tried the chicken white broth ramen, which I really enjoyed. I personally love chicken white broth ramen, and the one here was right up my alley. I definitely want to try the chicken white broth dipping noodles next time! They offer a student discount too, which is a big plus. Follow me on Instagram @honoka_hono_bono. Thank you!

Ripe Tomato Tsukemen [Pomodoro] 1,100 yen Shime Meshi Burnt Cheese (Circuit Benefit) This season's delight, tsukemen is now available again this year! [Impressions] I've been enjoying the tomato tsukemen for the past 3 summers since trying it for the first time. I've been looking forward to it! Even for those who don't like tomatoes, this is a must-try! It's so delicious that I'm hooked on it. I love tomatoes! The fruity taste of tomatoes combined with chicken broth creates a unique and delicious flavor that only those who have tried it can understand. It's delicious on its own, but when you add the separately provided aromatic olive oil, the taste changes completely, enhancing the umami and adding a bit of spiciness. It's not too spicy, which is just how I like it. Tomatoes, mozzarella, noodles, and soup can be enjoyed separately or mixed together. With basil on top, mixing basil with tomato soup and noodles feels like eating Italian cuisine. For the finishing touch, I recommend the burnt cheese. Cheese, tomato soup, and rice create a risotto-like dish that is truly delicious. How many times can I go back to eat during this period? Thank you for the meal! [Apple's Whisper] The tomato tsukemen at Iida-ke is loved by so many fans. It has been available since June 26th. If you haven't tried it yet, you must try it this year!

I tried the Potage flavored dipping noodles for the first time, costing 1050 yen. It was my first time experiencing Potage flavor, and it was quite rich. The noodles can be served in a large portion, but I opted for a regular size. The menu mentioned that the soup was strong, so it was recommended to only dip half of the noodles. Overall, I was satisfied with the experience of trying Potage flavor for the first time.

The booming voice of the head chef echoes through the ramen shop. This time, I decided to try the tsukemen and cheese rice bowl. The recommended way to eat the tsukemen was to fully enjoy the flavor of the noodles, and I could understand why after tasting it. The cheese rice bowl was delicious with a noticeable cheese flavor, but be careful as it can feel a bit heavy if you order extra noodles. Overall, I was satisfied with the taste.

I went to "Men-dokoro Iidaya" in Yodogawa-ku, Osaka City. It is located about 450m northeast from the east exit of Tsukamoto Station on the JR Tokaido/Sanyo Main Line. I parked at a coin parking lot that charges 110 yen per 60 minutes after 8 pm. Although there was a busy time registration counter, there were only 6 customers ahead of me on a Saturday evening before 10 pm. The interior had a stylish atmosphere with a straight counter seat for 7 and 4 table seats, harmonizing beautifully with wood and white walls. The owner had experience in Italian and French cuisine, so I was a bit nervous, but the atmosphere was casual. I ordered the "Rich Chicken White Broth Ramen (Soy Sauce Base)" for 1,150 yen. They recommended a choice of wasabi, yuzu pepper, or burnt cheese for the "finishing rice," but I decided to skip it as the ramen itself was filling and it was already late at night. The fine foam of the Nagoya Cochin chicken white broth soup caresses the tip of the tongue with a subtle thickness and a natural sweetness from the ingredients. The soy sauce flavor is subdued to the point where you might mistake it for "salt" if you were blindfolded, and it has a "Western" touch that seems to go well with a hard baguette soaked in the soup. The noodles are a finely crimped, extra-water horizontal type. Being able to pair this type of noodles that do not cling to the soup means that the richness of the soup stock is also reflected. Enjoy the milky sweetness of the white broth filling your mouth while savoring the chewy noodles. The toppings include naturally salty chicken breast, low-temperature cooked pork shoulder loin resembling high-quality ham, rich and orange yolk of dragon egg, juicy and sweet sliced onions from Awaji, sprouts, and bamboo shoots. Just like you wouldn't leave behind a potage or cold soup at a Western restaurant, I couldn't bring myself to leave any of the soup at this restaurant. I finished every last drop. Thank you for the delicious meal!

I was lured in by the attractive limited-time offer and visited Tsukamoto's "Men Dokoro Iidaya" restaurant. I confirmed the "NO NOODLE NO LIFE sticker" that I gave last time in the sticker zone! Today's special, the "Wagyu Dotera Ramen (with rice) with Ajitama topping" was almost sold out, so I ordered it. As I watched the chef whisking the chicken broth, the dish was served in about 10 minutes. The creamy chicken broth had a Western feel, while the sweet and savory Kansai-style white miso dotera-yaki had a Japanese touch. Following the owner's guidance, I mixed them well and was surprised by how well the chicken broth and white miso dotera-yaki complemented each other, with the added kick of Kujo negi enhancing the flavor. I regret not ordering the rice separately during the chaotic last moments of finishing the bowl. From now on, I vow to live true to myself. This was a delicious meal at Iidaya. This was my 133rd bowl of ramen this year.

The combination of beef tendons and konjac simmered in white miso, served with a Western-style chicken broth, was excellent. The soup alone was delicious, but when mixed together, the sweetness of the tendon sauce, noodles, soup, and green onions all complemented each other perfectly. The beef tendons were tender and the noodles were slippery and chewy, making for a delightful meal. The option to add extra rice was appreciated, and I chose a smaller portion. I mixed the remaining soup with rice and enjoyed every bite. It was so delicious that I kept saying how good it was while eating. Thank you for the meal!

Today, I visited Tsukamoto's "Men Dokoro Iidaya" not for the limited edition menu but to try their regular menu. However, it seems that some menu items have changed. I ordered the "Rich Chicken Shoyu Ramen" instead of the limited edition "Rich Chicken Shio Ramen" that I was looking forward to. The ramen arrived in about 10 minutes! The foamy cappuccino-style chicken shoyu broth was rich, creamy, and had no unpleasant smell. It paired perfectly with the onion slices. The two types of chashu, one rare with concentrated meat flavor and the other moist chicken breast chashu, were delightful. The medium-thick, chewy flat noodles had a great texture and I was completely satisfied after finishing the bowl. I have visited this place over 15 times and was finally able to receive a sticker that I thought I had already received before. The regular menu was delicious, but I am still looking forward to the next limited edition ramen. This was my 116th bowl of ramen this year.

I visited the charming limited-time noodle shop, "Men-dokoro Iidaya," in Tsukamoto after hearing about their new special menu item - the Ebi and Cilantro Oil Noodles, "Shrimp Fried Noodles." The shop owner always comes up with amazing limited-time noodles, so I quickly locked onto this one. As the delicious aroma of frying soft-shell shrimp filled the air in the shop, I asked my stomach, "Can you handle this?" and eagerly awaited my dish, which arrived in about 10 minutes. Following the owner's wife's advice, I squeezed some lemon over the noodles and mixed it well before digging in. The shrimp balls were plump and juicy, and the soft-shell shrimp had a crispy, inviting texture. The noodles, coated in a flavorful and fragrant sauce, were a delight to savor. Despite cilantro often taking over dishes, here it played a supporting role, allowing the dish's rich flavors to shine. This dish would surely please fans of both ethnic and Chinese cuisine. I left the shop completely satisfied and eager to return for more of their irresistible limited-time noodles. This was my 55th bowl of noodles this year, and it was truly a fantastic experience.

The burdock flavor spreads gently, with spiciness as the accent in the rich soup. The way they bring out the burdock aroma in the soup is amazing! The ma-la oil is at the top, so be sure to mix it well before eating. When I first tried it without mixing well, it was quite spicy, so make sure to mix it thoroughly! Dip about half of the noodles in the soup and enjoy. The noodles are delicious, and the rich soup coats them perfectly. Sprinkling some sansho pepper on the noodles adds a nice aroma - I love sansho pepper, so it's irresistible. Some people may not like sansho pepper, so it's fine to skip it. Even without it, the dish is still delicious. Dip the pork chashu in the soup a bit, and do the same with the seasoned egg. The egg yolk is sweet. This bold dipping ramen is the best. In addition to the ma-la oil version, they also offer a regular burdock dipping ramen that changes every other week. The regular burdock dipping ramen seems like it would allow you to enjoy the burdock flavor even more.

Iidaya Ramen Shop I visited this popular restaurant near JR Tsukamoto Station after a long time. This time, I tried the limited-time menu starting from February 9th, which was the Bisque-style Ramen with Snow Crab and Tomato. It is limited to 20 servings per day, so I was able to line up and enjoy it before the opening. The rich flavor of the snow crab broth and the subtle acidity of the tomato were amazing. The toppings of rusk, shrimp meatball, potatoes, broccoli, carrots, and bell peppers added a rich variety of colors. The vegetable toppings paired well with the rich soup. The crispy rusk soaked up the soup and became even more delicious. The shrimp meatball had a rich flavor and was delicious. For the finale, I had the grilled cheese rice, pouring the remaining soup over it to savor every last bit. This is definitely a dish worth lining up for before the opening! Monday's lunch was at "Men-dokoro Iidaya" on January 30, 2023. It had been a long time since my last visit in July 2019. I went to the "Men-dokoro Iidaya" in Tsukamoto. Starting the week with ramen for lunch! I arrived at 11:38 and there were empty seats. I ordered and received the dipping noodles at 11:50. I had the Potage Chicken White Soup Ajitama Dipping Noodles (large serving) for 1200 yen and added the ending rice (burnt cheese) for 120 yen, totaling 1320 yen. The creamy and rich vegetable potage dipping sauce had a high viscosity and concentrated umami, which was delicious. The whole wheat medium-thick flat noodles had a great flavor and were very tasty. Even though it was a large serving of 300g, it disappeared in no time. I was recommended to try the ending rice, and I chose the burnt cheese, which paired wonderfully with the dipping sauce. It is a must-order. Next time, I will visit again to try the ramen. Thank you for the meal. #Men-dokoroIidaya #Iidaya #Tsukamoto

During the limited New Year period, I tried the crab tsukemen soup and as soon as I took a sip, the rich crab aroma and flavor spread throughout. It was so good, the crab was amazing. I was torn between diluting the soup or drinking it as is, but the rich and delicious soup was so good that I ended up drinking it all. Anyway, it was full of crab flavor. Crab lovers will absolutely love it.
