It's my second visit in a year and three months. The menu used to be diverse, but now they only offer a daily special set meal for 800 yen. The warm service and heartwarming taste are still the same, along with generous portions. I love this place. This is my second visit, but I actually missed it once before because it was temporarily closed. This time, I was relieved to find it open. The place was empty when I arrived around noon on a weekday. I parked in the same spot as last time and went inside. There was a sign advertising the daily special lunch, which was pork cutlet. Although I had planned on having a traditional Japanese meal, there was only the daily special available. I ordered the daily special, which now costs 800 yen, and declined the option to add soba or udon for an extra 200 yen. The owner explained that due to health reasons, they had to simplify the menu to just the daily special. Despite the circumstances, they continue to provide the daily special, which I appreciate. The meal was unexpectedly generous, with pork cutlet, shrimp fry, salad, curry, and plenty of rice. The taste was reminiscent of a kushikatsu place I visited in Osaka. The pork cutlet was crispy and flavorful, while the shrimp fry had a nice crunch. The curry was delicious and had just the right amount of spiciness. The salads were also tasty, with the tomato and potato salads standing out. Overall, the meal was satisfying and I left feeling grateful for the warm hospitality.

Visit date November 21st (Thursday) I visit Nunatacho every year at this time. Work is going well and it's time for lunch! I heard from the staff here that the owner? is taking a break due to health reasons, but yesterday, when I passed by, I saw a lunch flag out, so I decided to visit after 2 years! I arrived at the restaurant around 1 pm to avoid the lunch rush. There were no other customers at first, but a few groups came in later, showing that it's still a popular spot. The menu consists of a daily lunch special only! (Maybe the owner is still not feeling well) It arrived in about 10 minutes! The volume and deliciousness of the meal for 800 yen (including tax) is unbelievable! The main dish was a meat and vegetable stir-fry with a mountain of shredded cabbage, simmered butterbur (just like mom's cooking!), potato salad, and boiled vegetables. This seems to be the only choice for lunch in Nunatacho (^^;)

Noboribetsu Town in Hokkaido. When I said the cafeteria in Noboribetsu Town at work was delicious, someone said they had never heard of it. Noboribetsu Town, a town that not even Hokkaido locals know about. It is relatively close to Asahikawa and easily accessible from Rumoi, and rice cultivation is thriving in neighboring towns. Let me introduce the surrounding towns and cities of Noboribetsu Town. Kitahiro Town ⇒ famous for sunflowers and delicious rice. This time we went to a hot spring attached to a roadside station. Horokanai Town ⇒ high production of buckwheat. Fukagawa City ⇒ known for rice production. The kettle rice at Rice Land Fukagawa is delicious. Chippubetsu ⇒ also known for delicious rice. There are many towns and cities in Hokkaido that are famous for rice and soba, supporting Hokkaido's food culture. I'm not a railway fan, but let me talk a little about the railway. Noboribetsu Town is the terminus of the Sassonuma Line (Gakuentoshi Line). Now it only goes to Shin-Totsukawa (which will also be discontinued...). It is now used as a midway station between Fukagawa and Rumoi. Originally, the "numa" in Sassonuma Line refers to the "numa" in Noboribetsu, so I hope even Hokkaido locals will know about it! I digressed a bit, but the cafeteria here is located right near Ishikari-Noboribetsu Station. I parked in the designated spot as instructed by the staff. Be careful, as the parking lot in front of the warehouse next to it is not for the cafeteria. When I entered, no one was there. If I hadn't found information about this place on Tabelog, I would have left. I called out, but no one came out... Oh no, what should I do. It's a good thing Tabelog gave me the courage to visit a new restaurant. I've gotten quite used to these situations (laughs). The staff who eventually came out were unexpectedly friendly. I wonder if it's run by a husband and wife? I could see the owner in the back. Now... what should I order? Hmm! I'll go with the ginger pork set meal for 850 yen including tax. I was also interested in the pork sukiyaki set meal, which uses garlic and is a hearty dish. ...I added soba for an extra 200 yen. Soba... I wonder if I can expect it to be good since the neighboring town is Horokanai? Well, it's only 200 yen, so it shouldn't be too bad. So, I ordered. You can choose between hot and cold soba (not zaru but bukkake, as they kindly informed me), so I chose bukkake. The amount of soba seemed strange, definitely strange. Wasabi was the kind you often see in supermarkets. At this point, I'm just going to forgive it! The meal was served, the ginger pork set meal. Hmm, hmm! Isn't the portion huge??? The amount of soba is also odd. The wasabi is up to your preference, and it's the kind you often see in supermarkets. At this point, I'm just going to forgive it! Now, the question is about the taste. I'll try it without high expectations. Hmm, hmm! This is delicious, even more delicious than I expected. It contains onions and eggplants, and the flavors are well infused into them. I'm pleasantly surprised. And what's nice is that the plate for the ginger pork is large, and it's tilted so that the sauce doesn't seep into the vegetables (or was it just a coincidence?). It's a subtle but thoughtful gesture because it's disappointing when the vegetables get soggy. And there's a small strawberry on top. I don't know why there's a strawberry, but it comes with dessert. There are also two types of pickles, and the rice is delicious. The amount of rice is satisfying. ...At this point, I think, I didn't need the soba.

In a limited selection for lunch, I chose this place. I parked in the large parking lot next to the store, but this is not allowed. Be careful. The daily lunch special was ginger pork on this day. The inside of the restaurant had 5 counter seats and 3 tables on a raised platform. While waiting, I checked the menu. They had set meals, rice bowls, noodles, etc. No ramen or curry. The soba or udon with mini rice bowl set seemed like a good deal. Some of the set meals were on the pricier side. The daily special that was served looked delicious. The rice was also very tasty. The taste of a set meal really depends on the quality of the rice, doesn't it? This was definitely a hit! The main dish of ginger pork was perfectly seasoned. It had a rich flavor that went well with the delicious rice. The three side dishes that came with it made it even more delicious. I never expected to find such a tasty lunch in Numata Town. If you're in the area during lunchtime, this place is a must. If this was in Sapporo, it would probably be very crowded. My excitement for visiting Numata Town has increased!

I came to Numata Town in February 2018. I have been working in Sorachi Subprefecture for 8 years, but this is my first time in Numata Town, which is a place I rarely visit. So, I carefully chose a lunch spot... I decided to have lunch at "Kanbayashi" based on the reviews of Mitsukoburakuda-san. At first glance, it looked like a Chinese restaurant... Numata seems to have more options than Rain or Kitahiro. Now, my companion, an old man, ordered a set of warm soba and pork bowl, while I ordered the daily lunch special. The smell of cigarettes is a little bothersome. The food arrived in about 10 minutes. The daily lunch special was pork and egg over rice set for 700 yen. Wow, there were many side dishes, very luxurious! The egg in the egg over rice was not made from onions as I thought, but it was delicious. The pork was small cuts of meat with a wild aroma, but the sauce was not too strong or too sweet. The seaweed went well too. I wanted a spoon, but I managed with chopsticks. The side dishes were squid tempura, octopus and cucumber vinegar, spinach with sesame dressing, and pickles. The squid tempura was pre-made but still had a crispy texture and good seasoning. The spinach was lightly seasoned, but the colorful carrots and fried tofu added a nice touch. The vinegar dish was refreshing. I said I only wanted half of the rice, but there was too much. The miso soup had dried wakame seaweed as the ingredient. I'm glad that the homemade side dishes were tasty. I'm so full, it's like an overeating warning! And all of this for 700 yen, it's cheap! You can also add coffee for an extra 100 yen. The old man I was with kept talking a lot from the car to during lunch, but I'm not sure what he was talking about. I would like to come back to Numata again. Thank you for the meal!

Today is the second day of work in Numata on November 10th (Friday). The office was cold again, so I had to buy more hokkairo to stay warm... but I accidentally bought the wrong type that I couldn't use (>_<). I had some documents that needed to be finished by 11 am, so I was completely focused on working on them. Finally, I finished the documents and decided to have lunch. I didn't have much information on restaurants in the area, so I decided to go to "Uerim" based on the information from Tabelog. I arrived a bit before noon and the place was quite crowded, with most seats taken. The owner was turning away some customers as they came in, so it seems like a popular local spot. I ordered the daily lunch set based on the reviews mentioning good value for money. The set arrived in about 15 minutes, with a generous portion of rice, simmered dish, potato salad, sautéed burdock, and pork jingisukan. All of this for only 700 yen was quite surprising in terms of cost performance. The rice was also very delicious. Another delicious lunch today. Thank you for the meal.

In rural areas, there is very little information available. This place, like the previous one, has only one review. However, there were photos posted, which are helpful. It should be good, I'm sure. Overall, in Numata Town itself, there seems to be only a few food establishments. There is a lunch sign at the entrance, so these types of places are easy to spot. The interior is a bit clean. I sit at the counter. The menu has a variety of options, but it seems a bit pricey. However, the daily special seems affordable. I order the daily special for 700 yen. The daily special arrives. It includes tonkatsu, ham cutlet, shrimp fry, fish, simmered dish, two small side dishes, and pickles. It's quite a large portion. It has a mix of vegetables, fish, and meat. You need to be really hungry to finish this. The cutlets are crispy and delicious! The meat is tender too. Unexpectedly good quality. The ham cutlet is tasty, and the shrimp fry is delicious too. The other side dishes are okay in terms of taste. The meat and cutlets get 5 stars, while the other dishes get 3.5 stars. I'm so full. The portion for 700 yen is definitely worth it. No complaints. When I saw the photos, I thought it would be decent, but in terms of cutlets, the quality is high enough to be accepted in the city. I don't know about the regular menu, so I can't say much, but based on the portion and taste, the slightly higher price might actually be worth it. For those from outside the town, they may not have many opportunities to have lunch here, but I recommend the daily special, especially the cutlets.

On January 20, 2011, I visited this restaurant for the first time. I had looked at Tabelog beforehand and found that there were almost no reviews for Numata Town. However, after searching various other sites, I decided to go to this restaurant, Mr. Hayashi, which seemed good along with a soba restaurant. We arrived at 11:40 and were seated in a private room on the second floor called "Hotaru" as we had made a reservation for six people. I ordered the "Suzuran set meal" which came with tempura and sashimi for 1500 yen. Others in my group ordered the hamburger set meal for 700 yen, katsudon for 700 yen, and tendon for 800 yen, all with the option to add soba or udon for an additional 200 yen. After waiting for about 15 minutes, the meals arrived. The hamburger set meal also came with grilled salmon, and the tendon dishes were served with soba. Finally, my set meal arrived, which also included grilled salmon. It seemed like they may have mistaken my order for the 1800 yen "Hotaru set meal," but I didn't mind. The sashimi was decent with tuna and fresh scallops, the tempura included shrimp, mushrooms, eggplant, bell pepper, and fish cake, and the grilled salmon was served cold, which was disappointing. There were also side dishes like bean sprouts, sautéed burdock root, and pickles, as well as miso soup. The set meal also came with coffee after the meal, making it a great deal. When we left, the restaurant was full except for the counter seats.
