On the way back from Asahikawa, we stopped by the Michi-no-Eki (roadside station) in Ame-river town on National Route 275. It was a sunny day outside and quite hot. We joined the line of people buying ice cream and soft serve. We discovered rice ice cream from Ame-river town! It was the first time we tried it. Inside the refreshing vanilla ice cream, there were grains of rice! On top, there were rice crackers. The taste of rice was subtle, but it was interesting. It was a refreshing treat on a hot summer day. This place is also famous for yakitori (grilled chicken skewers), so it's a good place to stop by during a drive.

Inside the Ametatsu Road station, there is an ice cream shop. During the summer season and in limited quantities, they offer a Melon Ice Cream for 330 yen. I was planning on getting my usual Royal Chocolate Soft Serve, but then I came across this limited edition item. Ametatsu melons are known for their green flesh. Although this ice cream had a bit of melon chunks in it, the sweetness and flavor were subtle. Personally, I realized that I prefer red-fleshed melons. I tried it once and I am satisfied.

First Visit on December 25, 2022. So, the main reason we stopped by the Michi-no-Eki (Roadside Station) in Rain Dragon was to buy ice cream for Hana-chan. There was a perfect shop for that! Michi-no-Eki Denen no Sato Uryu Ice Cream House is a takeout-only shop. My wife bought it and brought it to the car. In the meantime, I ended up eating Zangi (fried chicken) haha. I had just eaten Zangi, so I couldn't fully appreciate the taste, but when I took a bite, I thought it was a pretty good ice cream. Not too sweet, with a bit less fat. It was my kind of ice cream. Well, my wife said the same thing, so I don't think I'm wrong. Of course, our beloved dog Hana-chan was licking it like crazy (laughs). Well, as long as Hana is happy, that's all that matters. Now that we've had a little break, let's hit the road again! We might make another stop though. It was delicious! Thank you♪

It had been a long time since I last had Crema! The first time my child tried it, they were pleasantly surprised by how delicious it was. When they tasted the cone part of the Langue de Chat, they even joked that it would be great if all soft serve ice cream cones were like that. Crema is rich and tasty, isn't it? I think the last time I had it was at the top of Mount Hakodate a long time ago. It's nostalgic. I heard that the Michi-no-Eki (roadside station) in Raindragon is celebrating its 25th anniversary (congratulations), and although I couldn't use the discount coupon for Crema, I received one for other menu items. Since my child loves cream soda, we'll come back again next time. You can also use the JAF discount, but not at Crema. Thank you for the meal!

I arrived at Himawari no Sato and was struggling to find lunch. I decided to try my luck at the Michi no Eki (roadside station). Unfortunately, it was too crowded to have lunch there, so I came across a place called "Ice Cream Hall." I decided to try something unique and ordered the "Cup Ice Cream (¥260)" with "Amadare Rice." It was like a lightly flavored vanilla ice cream with rice stuffed inside. The rice was not too soft or too firm, it had a slightly crunchy texture and a fragrant aroma. It was quite unique and interesting. I will definitely try the restaurant at the Michi no Eki next time! Thank you for the meal.

I forgot to upload this, so checking now! This is a visit in July. The summer of 2021 was extremely hot, so I was eating soft serve ice cream everywhere I went. This place is an ice cream shop inside Uryu Road Station (*^^*). They have a variety of delicious soft serve ice cream and ice cream menu items! I was curious about the limited-time kiwi ice cream, but I ended up buying their top menu item, "vanilla" (310 yen). It was a hot day, and as soon as I got it, it started melting quickly. The soft serve was smooth and airy, a bit sweet but the melted soft serve tasted even sweeter, maybe because of that? Next time, I'll try the popular ice cream with Rain Dragon rice in it! While on my way to Wakkanai, I came across this place and decided to visit because it looked delicious. I ordered the "Soft Vanilla" this time. Vanilla is a classic flavor, but soft serve ice cream always tastes good no matter when you eat it. I never get tired of it. During the consecutive holidays, I enjoyed the sunflowers in Kitahiroshima with my friend, and then we headed to the neighboring town of Uryu. There, we stopped by the Michi-no-Eki (roadside station) of Uryu to take a break. After having a meal, we felt like having dessert, so we visited this place. They sell soft serve ice cream and other flavors like Uryu rice. Among the various options, I was drawn to the Royal Chocolat soft serve ice cream, as I love chocolate. It was rich in cocoa flavor, with a hint of bitterness amidst the sweetness, making it delicious. The texture of the soft serve was smooth and enjoyable. The soft serve was delicious, and if I have the chance to visit again, I might try their ice cream as well. Thank you for the meal.

I found soft serve ice cream, so I ate it (ΦωΦ) When I come to a roadside station, I have to eat soft serve ice cream! When I went to the Ametatsu Road Station, I was thrilled! The new season has started, right? For those who are not familiar with the location of Ametatsu, it's a bit to the left of Asahikawa, about 2 hours from Sapporo and less than an hour from Asahikawa. I think that's about right. Now, let's talk about their mini soft serve. The price, taste, and portion size make it the best value for me. First, you can enjoy it for just over 200 yen. The location in Ametatsu is perfect for a drive detour. Despite being called mini, the portion size is satisfying. The rich chocolate and milk flavors go well together. It's just perfect, nothing more to say. When I asked the staff for a mini mix, they understood. I tried to sound a bit fancy. Hehe. The reason I stop by this road station is for the rice! They sell 10kg of Nanatsuboshi rice from Ametatsu for 3,700 yen, and the milling date is today, which is unbelievable, right? You wouldn't see this at a supermarket. I'm not sure about the details, but there is a large rice factory or warehouse next door where they probably manage everything. According to my companion, Ranshiri rice is good, but in terms of value, Ametatsu rice is better! Both are a 2-hour drive away, haha. This time, I bought a 10kg bag of rice and when I cooked it, I thought, "This is delicious!" It's a common phrase, but both the soft serve and the rice made me feel the blessings of Hokkaido's land.

The soft serve ice cream shop at the Michi-no-Eki Ameyuri is partially outdoors (with a roof). This year in Hokkaido feels strange. It's already mid-November, but there is no snow. I came to Ameyuri to buy rice. The new rice is priced at 3,700 yen for 10kg and 1,900 yen for 5kg (Nanatsuboshi). There is also a 1kg souvenir pack for 480 yen, so I purchased a 10kg pack. Since I came all this way, I thought I might as well have some soft serve ice cream, even though it's cold. The outdoor temperature is 8 degrees, which is quite mild for this time of year. The chocolate soft serve here is uniquely rich and delicious. I noticed they have mini soft serves on the menu, which is great because they are only 220 yen each. I expressed my gratitude to the staff and ordered two mini soft serves. The size was just right, and both the chocolate and vanilla flavors were tasty. The chocolate flavor was especially rich! While shivering, the staff kindly informed us that we could eat inside where it's warmer. I wished they had told us sooner, but I appreciated their thoughtfulness. Despite the cold, the soft serve was delicious. The taste and texture of the cone were also excellent. The shop will be open until the end of November this year, and will reopen in March next year.

Snack time visit with family. Ordered vanilla ice cream. Large ice cream in a waffle cone. A bit challenging to eat due to its size. Very delicious with a strong sweetness. Want to come back again.

The Rain Dragon Rice ice cream was delicious. Instead of spending 500 yen on a Crema Soft that can be found anywhere in Japan, it's definitely better to spend 250 yen on the Rain Dragon Rice ice cream. It has rice inside that gives it a chewy texture.
