In February 2023, I visited Miyata Coffee located on the corner along the old Route 36, near the entrance of Kiyota Circulatory Hospital. The atmosphere of the cafe is calm and reminiscent of a traditional coffee shop. Although I usually don't order curry rice when eating out, I was intrigued by their black curry. It took about 5 minutes from ordering to being served. The curry was hot and first tasted sweet, followed by a spicy kick. However, it was too sweet for my liking. The black curry here is made with black sugar, so it was quite different from what I had imagined as black curry. Despite that, the cafe is a nice place to visit with a good ambiance.

On a certain weekday, I had lunch at Miyataya Coffee located inside the hospital in Kiyota, Kiyota-ku. We used the hospital's parking lot. As soon as you enter the hospital entrance, there is a store on the left that also serves as a shop, with seating consisting of two counter seats and a few tables. The background music is light Western music. From the menu on that day, I didn't have much time so I ordered the "Beef Curry (570 yen, 520 yen with a drink set)" which seemed quick, and also the "Iced Coffee (420 yen)". Oh, it arrived quickly indeed. Let's take a bite... Hmm, at first glance, the curry roux has a sweetness, light acidity, and a slight spiciness at the end. It's not flashy, but considering the price, the curry roux is simple and tasty, with beef slices as the main ingredient and average rice. Next, the iced coffee... served in a stylish ceramic glass, it's a generous amount, and oh, the iced coffee here has a strong roast flavor and high bitterness, so it's better to drink it slowly as the ice melts or add some fresh cream. I realized that if you can use it in a situation like this, the food is served quickly and at a relatively reasonable price, and if there are empty seats, you can relax and enjoy. Thank you for the meal.

When I visited the Seita Circulatory Hospital to see a friend, I found that the former cafe "Kai" had transformed into Miyataya Coffee Kitano Store. The interior had changed completely to a chic style. I ordered a special blend coffee (tax included 350 yen) and coffee beans (tax included 100 yen). The coffee was a bit bitter for my liking, but when paired with the sweet coffee beans, it was delicious. I also bought "coffee daifuku" as a souvenir for my companion (4 pieces for 520 yen tax included). Eating in the store costs 260 yen for 2 pieces, and takeout offers frozen products at 520 yen for 4 pieces. The small coffee daifuku is coffee-flavored with coffee beans mixed into the mochi and red bean paste made from Tokachi beans, creating a sophisticated fusion of Japanese and Western sweets. Not too sweet, it would make a great gift for coffee lovers. The fact that Miyataya's coffee is only 350 yen tax included is very reasonable. I will definitely visit again, even if it's not related to a hospital visit, to try their Sri Lankan curry, which is said to be incredibly delicious. Thank you, Miyataya!
