■Date of Visit: August 18, 2023, 6:00 PM - 9:30 PM ■Number of People: 2 ■Total Amount: 18,940 yen - Chef's Course x2: 5,900 yen each - Sparkling Wine x2: 660 yen each - Bottle of Sauvignon Blanc: 5,000 yen - Glass of Red Wine ■Situation: No customers when arrived, 5 customers later Located about a 10-minute walk from Hakodate Station through the business hotel area, I revisited an Italian restaurant after a year. Just like last time, I opted for the 5,900 yen chef's course. The appetizer consisted of a platter of five seafood and vegetable dishes. The ingredients were fresh, and the seasoning was mild and delicious. The pasta was made with grilled corn and pancetta, a perfect combination of sweet corn and garlic flavor. The fish dish was sautéed flounder with a crispy skin and a delightful aroma. The meat dish was sautéed lean meat, accompanied by flavorful grilled vegetables. For dessert, I indulged in a mixed plate with fresh cherries on top of a delicious panna cotta, which was particularly enjoyable. The value for money at 5,900 yen for such a generous course was excellent, but the slow service was a bit disappointing. It took about 30 minutes for the first appetizer to arrive, and the intervals between dishes were too long, which affected the overall experience. I recommend visiting with plenty of time to spare.

This time, we had a course meal that was decided upon consultation in advance. The appetizer platter included flounder and strawberries, snow crab and avocado, caprese salad with fruit tomatoes and mozzarella, seared scallops and cherries. For pasta, we had 1) arugula and shirasu pasta, 2) bracken and pancetta pasta. The main dishes were soy and asparagus with egg yolk sauce, Tomuraushi beef with mustard sauce. For dessert, we had rhubarb and milk granita, and matcha cheesecake. The portion sizes for the pasta and main dishes were reduced compared to others, so I was able to finish everything. Although not shown in the photos, the meal also included homemade bread and tea (or coffee).

Continuing from last year, I had dinner at my favorite restaurant again♡ They use local ingredients to create dishes at a reasonable price ✨ I ordered the ¥5500 course, and here is what it included: - Assorted appetizers: ・Fruit tomato and water buffalo mozzarella cheese ・Flounder and kiwi carpaccio ・Octopus and blood orange with watercress ・Seared surf clam with strawberry balsamic sauce ・Snow crab and avocado, apple salad ・Spaghetti with boiled whitebait and arugula ・Marinated trout sautéed with firefly squid and spinach tomato sauce ・Oven-baked fillet of Tokachi woodwork pork with butterbur sauce ・Homemade bread ・Dessert I always look forward to the assorted appetizers♡ They are seasoned to bring out the natural flavors of the ingredients, with plenty of seafood and fruits used ✨ I was happy to have both fish and meat for the main course, and the seasoning was perfect for wine♡

- Assorted appetizers: Flounder and kiwi carpaccio, snow crab and avocado salad, salami with walnuts and grilled apple, Hokkaido scallop with strawberry marinade, tomato and mozzarella cheese - Homemade bread - Mushroom pasta with oil base - Sauteed trout with firefly squid sauce - Two types of granita The appetizers were plentiful as usual, with generous portions of fish. The pasta portion was reduced, but it still had plenty of mushrooms. We had lunch at Umenosuke Sushi earlier, so we didn't drink much alcohol this time.

I visited for lunch. The interior of the restaurant is clean and has a nice atmosphere. I had the course menu and the timing of the dishes being served was good, so I was able to enjoy my lunch leisurely. The appetizer was well-presented and the homemade bread was delicious. The main dish, squid ink pasta, had a surprisingly great taste and plenty of squid pieces, making it very satisfying. The dessert was also excellent, and the final coffee was really delicious. Overall, it was a very satisfying lunch experience.

■ Date of Visit: August 19, 2022, 7:00 PM - 8:40 PM ■ Number of People: 2 ■ Total Amount Spent: 17,740 yen - Course x2: 5,900 yen each - Sparkling Wine x2: 660 yen each - Bottle of White Wine: 4,620 yen ■ Situation: No customers before or after us Located about a 10-minute walk from Hakodate Station, this Italian restaurant stands quietly in a peaceful residential area. We made a reservation online through Gurunavi for the 5,900 yen dinner course and visited the place. The simple interior features a wine cellar and a drink counter at the center. It seems to be run by a husband and wife. First up was the appetizer, a 5-piece seafood platter. Scallops, flounder, and prosciutto paired with fruits. The combination of saltiness and sweetness from the fruits was delightful. The second dish was a squid and purple sea urchin pasta in a style similar to peperoncino. The bold flavor made it perfect for pairing with wine. The fish dish was sautéed flounder, with crispy and fragrant skin and a slightly bitter zucchini side. The main meat dish was grilled Holstein beef. It looked very rare, but it was tender and easy to cut through with a knife, without feeling undercooked. The mushroom risotto side dish was also packed with flavor. The highlight was the dessert at the end. We were told we could order as many as we liked, so we went for the assorted plate with peach panna cotta, pudding, apple sherbet and milk ice cream, corn-flavored cheese soufflé(?), and banana-filled gateau chocolat. The gateau chocolat with a hint of bitterness was a unique texture. All the desserts were high-quality and wonderfully crafted. Even the homemade bread had a crispy exterior and a soft interior, offering a new and delightful texture. I was initially worried about the five-course omakase being a bit lacking, but it turned out to be a completely satisfying dinner experience.

We consulted with the chef in advance and ordered the course menu, specifying our preferences for the menu (choosing two pasta dishes) and portion sizes. I love the a la carte menu's appetizer assortment (6 items), so I feel a bit unsatisfied with the lunch course's appetizers. The pasta and main course were just right as the portion was adjusted.

Assorted appetizers: Flounder and Amaou strawberry carpaccio, Octopus and nagaimo marinated salad, White fish bruschetta, Smoked oysters, Snow crab and avocado salad, Tomato and mozzarella. I especially liked the salad. The smoked oysters were delicious. Just with the appetizers, you can have a few glasses of wine. Homemade bread with a sesame flavor. Lamb and pecorino cheese in tomato sauce. I usually have this with bucatini pasta, but I asked for spaghetti instead. I really like it here. Pan-fried cod with cream sauce of karasumi and spinach. The sauce was rich but not too heavy. Kiwi and milk granita. Panna cotta with kinkan compote. I chose two desserts.

On this day, the reservation was full and it was indicated that reservations are required. The last order was at 12:45. The lunch pasta, which costs 1750 yen, can be chosen. I chose the pasta with prosciutto and rapeseed flowers this time. My companion chose the cream sauce with raw seaweed. The appetizers were also satisfying. It was disappointing that the lunch with the main dish required a reservation. I wish I had known that during the reservation call... There are about 4 parking spaces in front of the restaurant.

The appetizer assortment of 6 dishes (soy and ichigo carpaccio, foie gras terrine with yuzu pepper, red shrimp and apple with quince sauce, marinated tuna and mushrooms, swordfish bruschetta, mozzarella and tomato) was delicious. The orange queen cream pasta was also tasty. The tomato stewed sea bream and milk granita, and panna cotta with strawberries were delightful. I always look forward to the exciting combinations of ingredients in each dish.

This Italian restaurant within walking distance from JR Hakodate Station has a calm and homely atmosphere. I heard that 80% of the ingredients used are from Hokkaido. While the a la carte menu seems to be extensive, due to the COVID-19 situation, they recommend ordering the course menu. It feels like as a customer, you can only order the course menu. By the way, this restaurant seems to be listed in the "Michelin Guide Hokkaido 2017 Special Edition". As for today's course, I was surprised by the generous portion size rather than the taste.

I occasionally visit this restaurant, so I uploaded some images. The dishes are quite simple. The A course for dinner in May 2012 costs 3300 yen, and the portions of both pasta and main dishes were surprisingly large. The appetizers at this restaurant always combine seafood and fruits in a delicious way, which I really like. I could choose as many desserts as I wanted, but I only picked two. If I had chosen all of them, it would have been too much. The panna cotta with Dekopon and the exquisite pudding were my favorites. In September 2011, I tried the crispy grilled sea bream from the à la carte menu, and it was delicious! The scales were crispy, and the flesh was tender. The pasta with fresh porcini mushrooms was also very good. Despite being quite tasty, it's always empty when I go at night. I wonder why? It's the closest Italian restaurant from the station. I have visited this restaurant several times for lunch and dinner. The lunch menu is a good deal, starting from 1300 yen. I usually opt for the 1600 yen course, which includes appetizers, bread, pasta, dessert, and coffee. The dinner set with pasta is around 2000 yen, which is reasonable. The appetizers during dinner time are a bit more luxurious than at lunch. They often include local fish and cheese, and they are quite elaborate. They combine fruits and seafood, such as crab salad with orange slices underneath or strawberry and scallop with balsamic vinegar sauce. It may sound strange, but they are actually very delicious. I quite like the appetizers here. The pasta dishes can be hit or miss, with some being average and others surprisingly delicious. I have included some images for reference. Personally, I prefer the oil-based pasta dishes, so I recommend them. The dessert, especially the pudding, is rich and delicious. The restaurant is not very spacious, and the tables for two on the left side are quite close together. If you are easily bothered by this, you may not feel comfortable.

I have quite a few Italian restaurants that I want to try, and one of them is Toui. I made a reservation by phone thinking it might be crowded at lunchtime, but surprisingly it wasn't. Perhaps it was due to bad weather on that day. So, I was able to enjoy my meal leisurely. The atmosphere inside the restaurant is relaxing and you can enjoy your meal comfortably. The tables are mostly for two people, making it suitable for a date. And of course, there were many female customers. I ordered the C lunch set for 2900 yen. I wanted to try the main dish. The staff brought a board with the daily pasta options, so I chose the pasta with whitebait and cabbage. Some reviews mentioned that the food takes a long time to be served, but the dishes were brought quite promptly. The appetizers were squid and green beans, and sea bream carpaccio. I forgot the third one, haha. They were all delicious. The pasta with whitebait and cabbage was oil-based and very tasty, although I wished there was a bit more. But when I saw the main dish that came next, I thought the portion of pasta was just right. The main dish was sea bream head, which had a substantial amount. It was also very delicious. For dessert, I had pudding and sorbet. The pudding was delicious. After having coffee, I felt really full and satisfied. Overall, the level of the food's taste was high. Everything was delicious, and I would like to visit this restaurant again.
