I started fishing (river fishing and sea fishing) in my early twenties. On days off, I used to go fishing almost every week. But if the weather was bad, I would have to cancel... But I still wanted to fish so badly that I would get withdrawal symptoms! In those times, I would go to a fishing pond! There are many fishing ponds in various places in Hokkaido, but the ones I have visited in the past are here, in the Kiyota Ward of Sapporo, and also in Ashibetsu, at the Il... Il... something mountain lodge, and in Nakafurano at the Be... Be... something farm. Well, I have visited many places, haha. Anyway, I only go to fishing ponds where I can have the fish I catch cooked. In my case, it's basically catch and eat, so I think it's a waste not to eat them. So, after two years, I have come back to this place, Oyuki Fishing Pond! Personally, I think this place is the best! It's close, only about 30 minutes one way. I have been coming here for about 20 years...? No, that's a lie... 20 years ago I was at the Il... Ilm something in Ashibetsu. Was it 25 years ago at the Be... something in Nakafurano? I think it's been 15 years since I started coming here. Yamame, iwana, big rainbow trout, and now they have char (they didn't use to have them before)... And guess what!! This year, there are actually char here! I have been fishing for over 20 years, but I never dared to catch char. And now they can be caught at this fishing pond... Well, they are small, but still, they are char! Next, I went for the big rainbow trout. The key points are: don't make loud noises, put a lot of bait on the hook, and tease the rainbow trout with the bait! If you can do this, you too can become a rainbow trout fishing expert! And yes, I caught one right away. If you get a hit, you have to lift the rod up immediately or the line will break, so you lift the rod up towards the sky. Hmm, it's a bit small and skinny... It doesn't have much fat... But I can't release it here, so I can only take this one home. I requested the cooking of the yamame and char at the reception. And because I didn't want to deal with cleaning the fish at home, I asked them to clean the big rainbow trout's guts and then sat at a table. Sorry... sweat. From here on, it's the main topic, right? Normally... And so, I am grateful to be able to have the fish I caught cooked and served to me. But it takes quite a long time to cook, so I usually request the cooking of the big rainbow trout when I start catching them, but this time, I requested it after catching the big rainbow trout, and there were several other groups of customers as well. And so, I waited at the table for over 30 minutes... Here comes the dish! What do you call it? A bowl? What do you call it...? Haha. The food has arrived! It looks delicious! So, let's dig in! Starting with the fried yamame. Crunchy! Crispy and juicy... Mmm, delicious! The fried yamame here is always so tasty! No matter how many times I eat it, I never get tired of it! It's incredibly crispy and fragrant, and the seasoning is just perfect! Great job as always! They just remove the guts and fry the rest whole, but I can eat the head and bones without any worries. I could eat it endlessly... However, since it's a white fish, it can make you quite full as you eat. Here, you can also order rice balls, rice, and soup, but if there are two adults, I think about 20 fried yamame is enough without ordering anything else. And now, it's time for my first ever char dish! I have never eaten char in my entire life. I wonder what it tastes like? I was able to eat char at a facility in Kanayama Lake in the past, but it was expensive so I didn't eat it... Eventually, they stopped serving char dishes there. So, let's dig in! (Round 2) Crunch! Crispy...!!!!!!! Hmm...
