"Umeya" When it comes to Umeya, it's all about cream puffs - cookie choux and pie choux. I didn't come to Nayoro for food blogging activities anymore, I've stopped that. I'm here because my wife is going on a hot spring tour. It's a ladder of hot springs between Nayoro and Shimokawa. After checking out of the hotel, instead of going to the hot springs, we come to AEON. When we come to AEON, we pick up as much as we can. Whatever is standing there can be useful even for parents. There's a gap between what I say and what I do. After checking out of the hotel, we immediately came because my wife said, "If it's AEON, it'll be open." But there are many shops that are not open. I found Umeya. I don't have time to choose, so I quickly order cookie choux and pie choux. Why do I not have time? Because there are two options, so I choose one and leave the other for my wife. I chose the pie crust. I don't like pies, but I like pie crust. At first, I didn't like it, so it feels weird, but the part that I don't dislike is... I don't know, I'm confused. The cream is light. I like fresh cream, so everything tastes delicious to me. Maybe that's why I find this delicious too. It's light and subtly flavored... it's delicious.

I found out that Asahiya, a shop established in the 3rd year of Taisho era in Asahikawa, is now at the Aeon in Nayoro. I decided to check it out. They had three different types of cream puffs. The ones made with fresh cream were a bit more expensive, but the special cream puff, which is a signature item of Asahiya, was only 100 yen each. They have been making this cream puff since 1964. I bought five and tried them as soon as I got home, and they were incredibly delicious. I was more impressed by this cream puff than any other sweets I've had recently. They are small in size, shaped like a mountain, with a smooth and even surface. The cream inside is exceptional. It's custard cream, but it doesn't taste eggy. It's white and creamy. I loved the custard cream so much that I ended up having another one after dinner. The taste, size, and price of these cream puffs made me very happy.
