I stopped by this restaurant at a separate roadside station. It is located within a hot spring facility. I visited during lunchtime and it was quite busy. Fugu and octopus are famous here, and I was able to try a variety of dishes. Payment was made at the front desk.

During my stay at the hot spring inn, I had dinner. I ordered a grilled blowfish bowl, octopus curry, and octopus tempura. It was my first time eating such a bouncy blowfish, and it was delicious! The octopus was also bouncy and very satisfying to eat. It was great value for money and highly recommended! Yummy٩( ᐛ )و

First visit this year. I heard that the specialty here is water octopus, but I haven't tried it yet. I wanted to have tempura, but they were closed, so I ordered the octopus curry for 1000 yen. The curry was a standard, slightly thick, medium-spicy curry. The only solid ingredient was octopus, cut into slightly large pieces, especially around the suckers, which made it a bit difficult to chew. After chewing for a while, I finally mustered the courage to swallow. It's a dish that really tires out your jaw. I needed about three toothpicks afterwards. I realized once again that I should have ordered the ginger pork or blowfish here. Thank you for the meal.

I haven't been to Hatsuyamabetsu in a while, so I felt like eating real blowfish. I sat at the counter facing the window and after debating between tempura and other options, I ordered the blowfish teriyaki bowl for 1250 yen. It was served in a tiered container rather than a bowl. Since the view is nice, I would appreciate it if the window glass could be cleaned regularly. The dish was served in about 7-8 minutes. The tiered container had 6 thick slices of blowfish, one piece in the soup, and a small dish of blowfish and onion nanban-zuke with 2 pieces of blowfish. In total, there were 9 pieces, which was quite a generous portion for the price. The chewy texture of the blowfish meat was similar to chicken. The sauce was a bit on the sweet side. It would have been even better if the rice was a bit firmer since the sauce was already on top. I particularly enjoyed the nanban-zuke as a palate cleanser. Next time, I want to try the octopus dish that I haven't had yet. Thank you for the meal.

I visited the restaurant located inside the facility of "Misaki no Yu" in Shosambetsu Village for lunch on the way to Enbetsu Town. The restaurant had a clean and spacious interior with many table seats, which seemed to be used as a dining area for guests staying at the facility for dinner and breakfast. The menu offered a variety of dishes such as rice bowls, set meals, curry, and ramen, but the recommended items were "pufferfish" and "octopus." I ordered the "Pufferfish Tempura Rice Bowl (1,300 yen)" and "Octopus Karaage (860 yen)." The Pufferfish Tempura Rice Bowl had a visually impressive presentation with large pieces of tender pufferfish tempura standing out. The pufferfish tempura had a subtle flavor, but the flesh was very soft and the texture was fluffy, making it delicious. The Octopus Karaage was also enjoyable, with large tender pieces that were easy to bite into. Personally, I found the octopus to be more delicious than the pufferfish. Since there are few dining options in this area, I believe this restaurant is a good choice for a meal in this region.

It had been a while since my last visit. They didn't have the salmon roe I wanted. After some hesitation, I ordered the Fugu Tempura Soba for 1300 yen. The tempura pieces of large fugu were luxurious in appearance. The price was reasonable. The soba itself was nothing special as this is not a specialty soba shop. It was decent. The tempura tends to lose its crispiness quickly in warm soba, so I think it would be better with zaru soba or tempura don. The fugu had a firm texture and was delicious. Thank you for the meal.

Today, I wanted to eat plenty of meat, so I had the ginger pork set meal for 950 yen. The ginger pork here is delicious because the pork is thick and tender, and the sauce is also good. I enjoy eating the cabbage dipped in the sauce, so I don't need mayonnaise. It was a bit disappointing that the miso soup had potatoes instead of clams. It's a bit early to start preparing meals for guests staying overnight at 1:00 PM (--;).

At this time of year, there are hardly any tourists. No customers at 1 pm. I wanted to eat fugu for the first time in a while, so I ordered the fugu teriyaki set for 1250 yen. It arrived in about 10 minutes. The vinegar dish and soup also had fugu in them, so it was enjoyable. The wild fugu had a good texture and was delicious. If you're going to eat farmed tiger fugu, it's better to eat it here.

In the review of "Hotel Misaki no Yu" in Shosambetsu Onsen, I wrote too much about irrelevant things and forgot to talk about the most important thing, the hot spring quality. So, let's start with that! In conclusion, the hot spring quality at Shosambetsu Onsen is really good. It's so good that even the famous actress Yūko Natori would nod in approval. Yes, it's a sodium spring! Moving on to the restaurant "Hanamisaki" located within the hotel. I tried the pufferfish tempura bowl, which was priced at 1180 yen. The pufferfish was delicious, with a rich flavor packed in the tender meat. The savory broth complemented the dish well. In addition to pufferfish, the bowl included eggplant, green pepper, and pumpkin tempura. While the green pepper was perfect, the eggplant and pumpkin seemed a bit over-fried. The rice was slightly firm, and the portion was on the smaller side. The miso soup, subtly flavored with scallop broth, was a nice touch.

Lunchtime at the Michi-no-Eki in Hatoyamabetsu Village, known for its blowfish cuisine. Today, I tried the blowfish dashi ramen with a salt flavor (^O^) The ramen arrived and the salt broth, made with blowfish extract and oil, was exquisite. The noodles were simple but tasted delicious when combined with the blowfish oil. It might be a bit salty for those with high blood pressure...

Yesterday and today, I had a business trip to Fusambetsu, Obira, Rumoi, and Mashike. For lunch on the 25th, I went to "Restaurant Hanamisaki" in Fusambetsu Village. They serve local specialties like Fusambetsu natural blowfish teriyaki bowl. I decided to try it since I don't come here often. The blowfish was delicious and had a nice texture. It was a unique experience to try blowfish in Hokkaido. Overall, I enjoyed my meal.

The village of Hatsuyamabetsu in the Orolon Line was once the setting for a drama where an idol did stargazing. With no other knowledge, we drove north and were recommended a hot spring here. I indulged in a fugu bowl for lunch, which was reasonably priced considering it was fugu. The fugu was delicious, although I wished it had been grilled over charcoal for a smokier flavor. The meal was well-balanced with rice, miso soup, and pickles, but the sweetness of the sauce became a bit overwhelming towards the end. Overall, it was a luxurious experience to enjoy fugu at such a reasonable price. I hope that fugu culture continues to grow in Hokkaido due to global warming.

I ordered ginger pork set meal for the first time in six months. The meat texture seemed slightly different but overall I am satisfied. I hope to see the return of miso soup with clams. Thank you for the meal.

Visited on July 10th (Tuesday) after finishing work in Teshio Town, today's accommodation is here at "Shosanbetsu Onsen Hotel Misaki no Yu"! It's my first time staying here so I'm a little nervous (^^;) Checked in at the front desk and headed to my room (Room No. 203!)... There were rooms numbered 201 to 2015 on the 2nd floor. My room 203 is the Cancer room!... A bit puzzled, it's only 12 zodiac signs but there are rooms up to 2015? I checked and found out that rooms 204, 209, and 2014 are not available. I see! First, I'll soak in the hot spring! It's different from the Teshio hot spring, but the water here is also very nice. And now, the highlight of the day, dinner. Priced at 9,000 yen for the business plan... slightly higher than Teshio, right? Here it comes! First, grilled blowfish milt in foil, and this pot is monkfish hot pot (^^)/ Then, a proper sashimi platter, fried fish with a thick sauce, and the chawanmushi is authentic with shrimp, chestnut, ginkgo nuts, and chicken. For dessert, we have watermelon and... it's 360 yen more expensive than yesterday in Teshio, but totally worth it. Thank you for the meal... I will come back next year! ('◇')ゞ

This time I ordered octopus tempura soba. It came with seaweed on top, making me feel luxurious. The soba seemed to be made with flour from Horokanai, and it was very delicious. In addition, they also serve dishes made with blowfish, and a marinated flatfish bowl, offering reasonably priced and delicious seafood.

I thought there would be mostly vegetable tempura, with just a little bit of blowfish, but there were a lot of blowfish tempura on the plate. The portion size was quite generous. However, the rice was quite clumpy, which was disappointing. After the renovation, the blowfish tank was removed. Also, while they offer blowfish hot pot as a single item, there is no set menu with rice or soup, and there are few other set meal options. When you enter the restaurant, the staff may not come out for a while, and the payment is done through the hotel front desk, which may also be unattended (with no bell to call for service). The service may not be great, but considering the scarcity of restaurants in the area, just having the option of curry or tempura rice bowl is valuable.

During a tour around Hokkaido where I rode 1100 kilometers, I stayed at this place. I was looking forward to the hot springs, and I was very satisfied with the spacious and pleasant hot spring. It was great to have a coin laundry available. Since there were a lot of people, we were guided to a large hall for dinner. The variety of dishes was abundant and luxurious. It was nice to see Hokkaido specialties like hokke on the menu. We brought our own alcohol, and the staff kindly brought us wine glasses when they saw we were drinking wine. Breakfast was simple but satisfyingly delicious.
