After considering the options around Sapporo Station and Odori area, I decided on a place near Kotoni Station, on the second floor of Hokuo Building diagonally across from Hotel Yamachi. Since there was no parking lot, I used the parking lot of a nearby supermarket where I planned to shop. After climbing a slightly steep staircase and entering the restaurant where you have to take off your shoes, the interior was spacious with dugout-style private rooms lined on both sides of the hallway, with quite a number of rooms available. There were hardly any customers on weekdays, which made the quietness stand out. The staff, a friendly masked man in his 30s, greeted us, and there seemed to be a few other staff members as well. We ordered the seasonal taste flower basket set meal and nigiri sushi for a total of 1760 yen including tax. We used a limited-time coupon that made one person's meal half price. It had been a while since I had a Japanese meal, so I was quite excited! The food was served without much waiting. The basket contained a salad with plum vinegar dressing, sashimi, grilled mackerel, roasted pork with grated nagaimo, kabocha, simmered taro, vinegared dish, and miso soup, among others. There were many varieties, beautifully presented, and the taste was mild and easy to eat without any strong flavors. The sushi included shrimp, octopus, and white fish, and the fried items included baby scallops, lotus root, okra, sweet potato, and a slightly unusual apple on top of sweet satsuma imo with vanilla ice cream. It was surprisingly delicious. Lastly, I ordered iced coffee for an additional 330 yen as an option, and the lunch ended. The atmosphere was pleasant, allowing us to have a leisurely and private conversation. Thank you for the meal. I will definitely visit again.

It's a place with a floral atmosphere for drinking. It's a Japanese-style izakaya, but it feels like a high-class inn with its lighting and interior design that escorts foreigners, consciously aiming for a Japanese aesthetic seen in movies. The all-you-can-drink option is 1000 yen for 100 minutes, which is great. The snacks and dishes have a good sense of taste. The most impressive is the "12 Suiki" appetizer, with 12 small dishes in a wooden frame divided into 12 sections. I had already eaten elsewhere, so these kind of small, a la carte dishes are a fun treat for the taste buds. Thank you for the meal.

I'm pumped up to visit this place! It's a pork shabu-shabu all-you-can-eat restaurant. As you climb the stairs and open the door, you'll find a series of Japanese-modern private rooms. I'm happy that it's all private rooms (including semi-private) and the order-style all-you-can-eat is reasonably priced. You sit down, place your order, choose your broth, and then the pot is brought out followed by meat and vegetables. Can I also eat snacks and sushi? They also serve a great selection of zero-carb PSB draft beer. I keep going back for more shabu-shabu. It's not outstanding, but I like that I can eat calmly without worrying. I check the quality of the vegetables I put in the pot, then place pork loin and belly on top. I scoop up plenty of vegetables and meat with ponzu and sesame sauce. You can also order your favorite vegetables individually, so I got lots of mushrooms and tofu to keep in the pot. By the time I finish the noodles, my stomach is full. Great value for money. It was delicious. Thank you for the meal.

Today, I had a celebration for my friend who helped me out with work the other day. We went to an izakaya with one other person. There was a menu category called "Meat Festival," so I asked the waitress for the "Yokkaichi Tonteki" from the Meat Festival. She seemed confused and brought both the Meat Festival dish and a separate meat festival item, so we ended up with a lot of meat (´Д`). We also tried some other dishes, which were all delicious. After that, we went to a nearby snack bar, drank whiskey, sang, and had a great time acting silly. Thank you for the wonderful meal.

We went for lunch with my friends, myself, and my child at a pub in Kotoni. It was our first time using this pub for lunch, even though we have been here several times at night for years. I was a little worried about bringing my child, but it turned out to be okay (laughs). We chose the sushi and udon set to share with my child. We hesitated to order two dishes, but considering my child's eating capacity, we decided on one! We chose warm udon from the option of hot or cold udon! I intended to share the udon and tempura, but ended up with only about a third of the udon. My child devoured the tempura with shrimp and pumpkin! I also had some leftovers from my child's plate and some sushi. The location is a bit inconvenient as there is no parking lot, but the atmosphere, semi-private room, and lunchtime experience are nice, especially for female friends. While waiting for the bill, I overheard the delivery staff saying, "Delivery for Mr./Ms. [Name]!" to the staff. We need to support delivery services too, as restaurants cannot survive the pandemic without them. Hopefully, we can overcome this situation and enjoy delicious meals together again. That was the topic of our lunch conversation.

The lunch here is very cost-effective♪ However, the sunken kotatsu seats are too low(^^;) The height is awkward for those with short legs, like me, as it's around 30 centimeters from the ground. It might be uncomfortable to sit for a long time. I tried the "Tempura and Sashimi Set" for 650 yen. There are also options like Chicken and Egg Rice Bowl, Soba Set, and Assorted Sushi Set, all for 650 yen. The miso soup is not too strong, and the pickles are typical. The boiled spinach side dish is delicious♪ The sashimi includes Hamachi, Salmon, and possibly Albacore, with 6 small slices. The tempura consists of Shishito peppers, shrimp, sweet potato, and maybe squid? The portions are quite generous. The atmosphere is very calm and sophisticated, but for someone like me with short legs, it's a bit of a struggle...

It's been a while since my last visit. Today I was in the mood for sukiyaki. When it comes to sukiyaki, in Hokkaido, pork is more common than beef. I'm used to eating pork sukiyaki and it was amazing.

Kotoike-dori street, up the stairs on the second floor, you will find this restaurant. It was very crowded during the festival at Kotoike Shrine in Sapporo, but surprisingly, I was able to enter without any wait time. The interior of the restaurant looked high-end, with bright and warm lighting. I was seated in a private room with a sunken kotatsu table. I opted for the all-you-can-drink option with a two-hour limit, which included a glass of draft beer for an additional fee. The beer was served in a glass, which I personally prefer. However, the beer did not have a fine foam, which made me wonder if it was poured straight from the tap without much care. The food and drinks took a while to arrive, which was a bit disappointing considering the crowded situation. The appetizer consisted of duck, komatsuna greens, and Matsumae pickles, which were delicious. I ordered a variety of dishes including meat, fish, salad, and fried chicken, all of which were tasty and satisfying. Overall, I enjoyed the meal, but I hope the service and timing of the dishes will improve in the future. I would like to visit again after some time.

In the past, I had a good impression of Hanagokoro's lunch near Teine Station, so I always wanted to visit the Hanagokoro Kinnei branch. Although I was turned away once due to being fully booked, I made a reservation and went with determination on another day. This time, it was slightly less crowded, but I felt somewhat overwhelmed by the groups of ladies coming one after another. I was led to a semi-private room for four people, and the seating was somewhat uncomfortable due to the layout of the sunken kotatsu. The wallpaper showed signs of aging and dirt, but overall, the construction seemed decent. I ordered the colorful Hanagokoro special lunch, which promised to offer a little luxury with seasonal Hokkaido ingredients, and enjoyed a somewhat luxurious lunch almost in a private room. The colorful lunch set included 5 pieces of nigiri sushi, tempura, beef steak, chicken steak, sashimi, simmered dish, pickles, soup, and a drink. The tuna sushi was sweet and delicious, but the rice grains were disappointing. The other sushi pieces were standard in terms of ingredients and taste, but they were well-made with good sushi rice. The beef steak, with a yuzu pepper flavor, was rare and flavorful, making it a satisfying dish that made me want to pair it with sake or even just enjoy it with rice. The chicken steak with skin was also seasoned gently, and although it had a slight chicken taste, it was enjoyable. The tuna sashimi was slightly lower in grade compared to the sushi, but overall, it was decent. The tempura was fried well, and the seasonal bamboo shoots were a nice touch, but it was just average. The simmered dish had a good dashi flavor and was a great accompaniment to drinking sake. Although rice was offered for free, I declined and ordered a hot coffee after the meal, but unfortunately, I forgot about it and felt a bit bothered when I realized it later. During the meal, I overheard a group of ladies next to me discussing a TV personality, and it was amusing to hear their lively conversation. As you enter through the automatic door, you'll see the staff welcoming you with a slightly tired smile amidst the bustling atmosphere of the daytime Madam meeting. Although you may have come before the evening pork shabu-shabu, this space calls for a stylish shabu-shabu experience! While still getting used to my iPhone, I quickly prepared for the meal. The Hanagokoro set meal comes in a large basket with various items, which might impress the ladies with its beauty, but could leave others like Tom feeling a bit confused. The sashimi of tuna, salmon, and squid, while fresh, may have a subtle texture. The chawanmushi, although cold, has a soft chicken meat texture and a strong saltiness over the dashi flavor. The chicken salt and pepper dish features tender chicken breast with a light salt and pepper seasoning. The salad with non-oil ponzu dressing is refreshing, while the mixed vegetables with nagaimo, okra, and pickled daikon have a crunchy texture. The simmered dish with shrimp, crab, and bamboo shoots, served with warm broth, makes for a delicious soup. The seaweed soup lacks the typical saltiness of seaweed, and the pineapple and orange dessert, though sweet, is lukewarm. Despite the somewhat leisurely atmosphere, the staff are constantly bustling around, making me realize how tough their job must be. In the end, it was a satisfying meal. In June 2013, I visited Hanagokoro Kotonai for the first time for lunch. The restaurant is located in the Kotonai area of Sapporo, near Kotonai Station. The atmosphere inside was cozy, with individual rooms and a traditional Japanese feel. I ordered the Hanagokoro set meal, while my companion ordered the Shokado bento. The food arrived promptly and was delicious, with a variety of dishes included in each set. The flavors were mild and enjoyable. Overall, it was a pleasant dining experience with friendly staff. The restaurant is operated by Comsen, a subsidiary of Suntory, which also runs Suntory Beer Garden. It was a satisfying meal, and I look forward to visiting again.

Actually, this was my second visit. We had a farewell lunch for a mom friend who was moving, with about 8 people. The restaurant is located on the second floor of the building. The atmosphere is a bit elegant, like a high-class izakaya. You have to take off your shoes before entering. There are no windows, warm lighting, lots of wood, a natural and slightly stylish interior with sunken kotatsu tables. Depending on the number of people, it feels like a private room, allowing for a leisurely chat for group gatherings. On this day, we had the Hana Kago lunch, which was a set of hand-rolled sushi. It also came with a drink after the meal for around 1200 yen. The Hana Kago lunch looked quite nice with various small dishes served in small portions, which is appealing to women. As for the taste, the onion in the salad was too spicy, and overall, the food didn't leave a strong impression. The sushi was only 4 pieces, and the overall volume was a bit small. The flavors were not too rich, so some people might find it a bit unsatisfying. The warm side dishes, sushi, soup, and tea were all brought out right before eating, which was a good point. After the meal, you could also order coffee, tea, ginger ale, grapefruit juice, etc., which was a nice touch. We parked at the nearby Daiei store, where you get 2 hours free parking with a purchase. After that, it's 100 yen for every 30 minutes. I bought a ticket for a cheap lunch set at a certain place and decided to try it out for the first time. The interior of the restaurant had a calm atmosphere with orange lighting. I sat in a semi-private room where I didn't mind the noise from the next table, but since there was no door, I could see everything happening on the other side. It was lunchtime and there was a lively group of older ladies dining. As for the food, the seasoning was overall quite light, and the soup didn't have much flavor at all (laughs). When it was time to pay and leave, my child waved goodbye enthusiastically, but it was a bit disappointing that they didn't even look in our direction. I chose the pork shabu-shabu course. The other all-you-can-eat options include typical izakaya menu items. There is also sushi available, which can be ordered individually. The food was delicious. Considering it was only 2000 yen, I think it's a great deal. I visited again, but changed my rating because the attitude of the staff was poor.

I was drawn in by the coupon and because I had a really relaxing time in a private room before, I decided to use it for a girls-only drinking party. We could choose from shabu-shabu, sukiyaki, mizutaki, and motsunabe for the hot pot, and there was also an all-you-can-eat side menu, so we decided to go with refreshing shabu-shabu, which turned out to be the right choice! I was surprised that the side menu was all-you-can-eat even though it was table order... and it exceeded my expectations, with a variety of izakaya menu items! Such as fresh sushi, scallop and avocado carpaccio (palm-sized), imomochi (1 piece), daikon salad (bowl), ramen salad (bowl), fried cartilage (small plate mountain), ice cream (ping pong ball size), almond jelly, and more, around 40 items! The items listed on the right are just a rough estimate, but having small portions like this while eating hot pot is just the right amount. The only downside was that the staff seemed a bit low-energy... but other than that, I was very satisfied. It's perfect for a lively girls' party where you want to eat a lot in a private room!!
