I visited this ramen shop during my lunch break on a tour. The sign outside said "Delicious!! Ramen", so I decided to try it out. It had been raining, so I was feeling cold. Even though it's warm in Hokkaido at this time of year when it's sunny, it can get quite chilly when it rains. So, I was in the mood for ramen. The shop had a nostalgic atmosphere with only counter seats. I ordered the shoyu ramen. The noodles were Sapporo-style, yellow in color, and cooked just right with a good chewiness. The soup was piping hot and burned my tongue a bit. It was a bit salty, but my tired body welcomed it. While taste can vary from person to person, I personally found it to be "just okay". It warmed me up. The ramen shop was run by a friendly couple who seemed to get along well. Thank you for the meal.

Ramen restaurant located in the Fudono area of Minami Ward, along Route 230. It's small, but there is parking space in front of the store. I had lunch here while I was nearby. The cozy interior with an L-shaped counter and a few raised tables exudes a Showa-era atmosphere. The menu is similar to "Bizan" in Kita Ward, but I'm not sure if there is any connection. I ordered the "Cheese Tantan Men (800 yen)" because it looked delicious in the photos. It was ready in about 7 minutes. Tantan noodles topped with melting cheese. It had a mild spiciness similar to miso ramen but with a flavor that makes you want another bite. The noodles were cooked slightly firm, which I personally liked. If I have the chance, I would like to try something else.

I went around 12:30 on Sunday. The parking lot was empty and I was the only one inside, so it felt safe during the pandemic. The exterior and interior of the restaurant had an old-fashioned look. I sat at the counter and the owner's wife brought me water and took my order. I ordered the popular tantanmen with cheese (they also had one with egg). It arrived in a few minutes. The soup was nicely spicy and flavorful. The noodles were yellow curly noodles, topped with spinach, minced meat, green onions, and cheese. The portion was just right. Towards the end of my meal, a couple came in. They seemed like regulars. I would definitely want to come back for this delicious taste.

I had the miso ramen in a restaurant along the national highway. The large serving was delicious. The an-kake also looked appetizing.

This is a traditional ramen shop. If you want to eat old-fashioned ramen, come here. The chashu is delicious! I'm not a fan of the gyoza as it has more vegetables than meat.

I went to Shoukin-yu Onsen and on the way back I got hungry! Oh, there was a ramen shop I've never been to! I decided to go. It was past seven on the weekend and there were no customers. I felt a bit uneasy. I was in the mood for soy sauce, so I ordered soy sauce ramen. Just to be safe, I also ordered butter ramen. Wow! It's salty. Maybe I didn't need the butter? But it's delicious! I like it! As I ate, I felt like I've had this before somewhere. I drank the soup and thought about it. I got it!!! It's the soup from my favorite instant ramen, the double ramen! That's why I like it (laughs). That's just my personal opinion.

This ramen shop is my absolute favorite. I've tried many different ramen places, but I always come back to this one for its light soy sauce flavor. The soup is great, but the noodles are what I love the most. The curly yellow noodles are just perfect for me. Besides ramen, their fried rice, gyoza, and yakisoba are also top-notch. If you have room in your stomach, I recommend trying a half order of fried rice with your ramen. The yakisoba has perfectly cooked noodles and delicious sauce. The gyoza has a homemade taste with juicy meat inside. I also enjoy chatting with the staff after finishing my meal. I highly recommend this place to anyone heading towards Jozankei.

On the way to Jozankei, Bob wanted to eat fried rice, so we searched for a ramen shop while driving. We couldn't find a ramen shop easily, despite there being many soba shops on the Soba Street. Eventually, we found a retro-looking shop where I ordered the Cheese Tantanmen. It took quite a while to arrive, but when it did, the Tantanmen didn't have much sesame flavor, and the minced meat was quite strong. I added some chili oil and shichimi pepper to enhance the flavor. The cheese melted and made it more delicious. When we paid, I asked if the shop was related to Hiezan in Kita-ku, and they said they were siblings. There were many similarities between the two shops, so it might be fun to visit both and find the common points.

When driving on Ishiyama Street towards Teizankei, you will inevitably notice a striking yellow curtain that stands out. This is Ramen restaurant "Bizan", a well-established favorite among the local residents in the Fujino area. As it was lunch time and work was temporarily on hold in the area, there was no reason to hesitate in visiting. I decided to order the "Miso Ramen". Looking around the restaurant, I saw people of all ages enjoying their meals. I later found out that their specialty is the Cantonese noodles, which I will definitely try next time. Soon enough, the Miso Ramen arrived. I first enjoyed the aroma...sniff sniff...wow! I could sense the lively fermentation of the miso. A delicious flag was raised early on. The soup was rich with a soft miso flavor and various umami components. The combination of pork bone soup and lard was fantastic. The noodles were yellow, medium-thin, and loosely curled. They had a natural finish but did not compromise on flavor. There were two small slices of flavorful chashu. The standard toppings for miso ramen were present - onions, bean sprouts, and green onions. If they were a bit more fragrant and sautéed, it would have been perfect. Hmm...this seems like the "Miso version" of the "Showa Ramen Fukuya". Simple and delicious. It feels like tracing the roots of this ramen would lead to Asahikawa Ramen. This is just my personal observation.

This is a place in Fujino, Minami-ku, facing the lane towards Teine in the direction of Route 230. You can check the location on the map on Tabelog as usual. I visited this ramen shop that I have been curious about when driving on Route 230 towards the Doan area. I parked my car in the narrow parking lot in front of the shop and went inside. I sat at the vacant counter seat and looked at the menu, which was posted on the wall. Although the miso ramen was recommended, I ordered the usual "salt ramen." It arrived in about 6-7 minutes. The ramen looked a bit lonely as it was quite simple, with only two small slices of chashu, menma, and green onions. First, I tried the soup, which was a salty pork bone broth. Next, I tried the noodles, which were old-fashioned yellow medium-thick curly noodles, but they had a slightly strong noodle scent, possibly due to poor boiling or draining. As for the toppings, the chashu was a traditional salty and soft delicacy, and the menma added a nice touch. However, the fact that there were customers coming in one after another on foot suggests that this is a shop deeply rooted in the local community. As a side note, 'Bizan' is a shop that is not registered on Tabelog.

The name of the restaurant sounded delicious and caught my attention, so I decided to visit while I was at the dermatologist's office. It seems to be run by a husband and wife. The interior of the restaurant had a nostalgic Showa era ramen shop feel to it. When I ordered the miso ramen, they brought out sesame seeds and a mortar and pestle, which got me excited. Soon, the miso ramen arrived, and I sprinkled the ground sesame seeds on top, getting ready to dig in. I took a bite of the noodles...hmm, this is not what I expected. I tried the soup next, and it confirmed my initial thoughts. The chashu was okay. I managed to finish the noodles, but unfortunately, the soup was left untouched. It seems like this ramen just wasn't for me. The charming smile of the wife was the only saving grace.

I have been coming to this restaurant for almost 20 years. When I first visited, I was surprised to find that the taste was very similar to my favorite restaurant "Daishin" which used to be on Tohoku Street but is now on Hirao Street. I prefer salt ramen, but my family loves miso. However, the soup here goes well with salt, soy sauce, and miso flavors. I always finish the soup here without leaving any. Recently, the noodles have become softer compared to before, so if you prefer firm noodles, it's better to order "firm noodles". Since the popularity of "Daishin" on Hirao Street, the taste has changed, but if you want to taste the old Daishin flavor again, why not try going to Meizan?
