Located a 5-minute walk from JR Kitashinchi Station, there is a quiet Japanese sweets shop on the first floor of a building called "Morino Okashi." It is a sister store of the famous "Mori no Ohagi" in Toyonaka, Osaka, and also has a store in Itami, Hyogo. They offer dorayaki and warabi mochi from "Kitsuneiro," as well as seasonal limited edition Mizuyokan that caught my eye. However, for my first visit, I decided to try the assortment of 3 ohagi, which came in two varieties:
- Deep roasted kinako and mixed grain mochi
- Naruto sweet potato and mixed grain mochi
- Egg yolk pumpkin and black rice mochi
The small size made me want to eat them all at once, they were dangerously delicious! They had a gentle sweetness and a chewy texture that was so tasty! They are best enjoyed while the mochi is still soft, even the next day. At 490 yen for the set (around 160 yen per piece of this size), the price may seem a bit high, but I believe they would make a perfect treat to serve with tea and would definitely be appreciated. What made me even happier was finding out that the packaging design was done by the artist Mutsu Kagoshima. Now I am looking forward to trying their dorayaki or Mizuyokan next time. Exciting!

I often commute through Kitashinchi, and I was surprised to find a Japanese sweets shop here for the first time. The colorful ohagi displayed are delightful to look at. The slightly small ohagi are easy to eat and delicious. The sweet bean paste was not too sweet and had a good flavor.

I waited for about 5 minutes at 18:05 on a regular day and used it. Located a 5-minute walk from JR "Kitashinchi Station" on the 1st floor of Dai2 Okawa Building, this is a highly acclaimed store selected as "Tabelog Wagashi and Amazake WEST Top 100 Stores 2023" (started in August 2023). At the time of posting, they have 2 stores in Osaka (Tanimachi, Kitashinchi). The Kitashinchi store, opened in January 2014, is a super small store in a building where night shops are concentrated. It was run by a female sales staff. I purchased "Mori no Ohagi (Seasonal Ohagi, 3 pieces) for 500 yen this time. The contents and evaluation are as follows. [◎, 〇, △] Oonagayama Zakkoku Mochi ◎ A classic ohagi with a moderate sweetness using Oonagayama red beans. It is a small and easy-to-eat size with distinct grains of mochi rice. Yaki Kurumi Kokumai Mochi ◎ A must-have ohagi for chestnut lovers with the strong flavor of Shibukawa chestnut honey. It has a taste that suppresses the sweetness using black rice mochi. Houjicha Kurumi Mochi ◎◎ Gabin Mamamaiwoo! It has a friendly sweetness with a clear taste profile and was very delicious. There was no background music. The clientele consists of adults in Kitashinchi (including women in kimono!). The customers come in one after another. The female ratio is about 70%. The Tabelog rating at the time of visit is 3.65. The refined form and packaging of the sweets are bonus points. The opening hours are from 16:30 in the combat zone of the night city. It was a hard-working Wagashi Top 100 store. Next time, I would like to try "Dorayaki" and "Shinchi Warabi." Thank you for the meal!

Hello everyone in July! A friend from Tokushima was thoughtful enough to bring me some delicious treats. The ohagi and warabi mochi here are so tasty ❤️ The colorful adult ohagi is very popular here. Of course, the ohagi and warabi mochi from Doshima Roll in Kitashinchi, which have become popular souvenirs from high-end clubs, are delicious as well. The delicious treats from Kitashinchi are expanding as souvenirs from high-end clubs and high-end hostess clubs, spreading from the master to the mistress ❤️ Kitashinchi, where delicious things gather, has many Michelin-starred restaurants. I really love this city, the adult social scene of Osaka ❤️ Thank you for the delicious meal ❤️

Last night, I hurried to meet with Rina and others at Kitashinchi, but Miki's sandal broke! What to do? Should we glue it? Or buy some glue nearby? The two were discussing reluctantly, saying that it would break again soon anyway. Pe-chan said that a rubber band is needed for emergency treatment. Looking around, I saw a shop with no customers. I asked if they had rubber bands, and the kind lady at the shop gave us some. We felt bad just taking the rubber bands, so we decided to buy something. We saw Mori-no-okashi, a popular shop. It was lucky to come across it. We decided to buy some sweets, considering our diet. We got some for our boss as a gift too. The next day, during a meeting, I tried the sweets and they were amazing. I regret not buying more. Kitashinchi was quite empty due to the pandemic, as the lady at the shop mentioned. I will definitely go back when I pass by. The sweets were delicious. I realized the great value for money afterward.

I wanted to try it after a long time, so I went. I asked the current staff why the popular Dorayaki called "Itami Kitsuneiro" is sold at Morino Okashi, and they told me that the person who used to work there around 2014 has opened their own shop. It seems they belong to the same group company. I was very surprised. Even though the set of Ohagi has changed from 4 to 3 pieces, it was still delicious. The container had also changed, but it had a very calming atmosphere. The Warabi Mochi was sorted and made easier to eat. I want to go back again.

I couldn't go to buy it because it was from 16:30. My daughter bought it for me as a surprise! They are small and come in various flavors, making them easy to eat. They are delicious and seem to be not bad for the body, so I don't feel guilty. I would like to eat them again if I have the chance.

My wife bought me three different types of dorayaki as souvenirs from her business trip to Osaka.
Hoji tea:
The hoji tea flavor in the dorayaki was similar to a tea-flavored dessert. It paired well with the sweet bean paste filling.
Lemon agar:
The idea of using lemon in the dorayaki was interesting. The refreshing lemon flavor combined nicely with the black sugar dorayaki dough.
Wood strawberry:
This was my favorite out of the three. The strong aroma of wood strawberry worked well with the dorayaki. Each dorayaki had a different dough, making them unique Japanese sweets.
I enjoyed all three varieties. Thank you for the meal.

On April 19, 2023 (Wednesday), I received a dish of assorted grains mochi and roasted green tea, black rice mochi with sesame, black rice mochi with cherry blossoms, mugwort mochi, deep-roasted soybean flour assorted grains mochi, salted nightingale assorted grains mochi, and Toyonaka Mori's ohagi. The seasonal ohagi that arrives from Toyonaka Mori is a specialty. In spring, there are cherry blossom flavors, and in summer, there are edamame flavors, with the contents changing depending on the season. We offer two types of "Seasonal Ohagi 3-piece set". There is also a gift box that contains 6 pieces.

The forest-themed Ohagi are visually appealing and come in easy-to-eat sizes. It's delightful to be able to enjoy so many different kinds of Ohagi. The ones I purchased were Forest Ohagi, Daizu Namagome Mochi, Agemame Black Rice Mochi, Hana Sakura Yomogi Mochi, Deep Roasted Kinako Mixed Grain Mochi, Houjicha Black Rice Mochi, and Shio Uguisu Mixed Grain Mochi. Forest Sweets really hit the spot!

Well, I was looking for traditional Japanese sweets between my hotel and the restaurant in Kitashinchi for dinner, and I found a nice place. They were open in the evening, which was great because I always thought Japanese sweet shops closed early. The shop had beautiful "ohagi", "warabimochi", "castella", and "raiuokoshi?". I bought two types of ohagi and matcha warabimochi. The castella and warabimochi with black sugar were sold out. I arrived at the shop on Saturday evening at 6:45 pm. There were two other customers already there. Now, about the taste... The ohagi was delicious and gentle. The matcha warabimochi was also tasty with a strong matcha flavor. Would I go out of my way to bring these Osaka souvenirs back to Tokyo? If there was a shop near my home, I would be happy to buy them, but carrying them all the way to Tokyo might be a bit much.

"Daingon Zakkoku Mochi / Age Goma Kurogome Mochi / Hana Sakura Yomogi Mochi / Shinseki Nanko Zakkoku Mochi / Hojicha Kurogome Mochi / Shio Uguisu Zakkoku Mochi - Kitsuneiro Dorayaki 3 kinds" A takeout-only traditional Japanese sweets shop located about a 5-minute walk from Kitashinchi Station. I came to buy a White Day gift for my wife. Originally, I planned to visit the main store in Toyonaka, but unexpectedly the train I was on was delayed due to a human accident, and I couldn't make it to the store within business hours, so I ended up at this shop. I bought two sets of the default-like 3 kinds of ohagi and a set of dorayaki. (I also bought the same ohagi for myself) Just like the main store, all the ohagi have a prominent presence of rice grains and a refined sweetness that makes you want to eat as many as you can! My wife was also very satisfied!! These are perfect as gifts. A fantastic find."

Okamachi's "Mori no Ohagi" is now available in Kitashinchi! They have a variety of cute ohagi that are perfect as gifts, and they taste delicious too. Personally, I prefer larger, more substantial ohagi (laughs).

I have received the "Ohagi" souvenir from Morino Okashiya several times. I visited them again after a long time and found my favorite warabi mochi. I bought the Newji Warabi with "deep roasted kinako" and "Uji matcha kinako". They were soft and gooey, with a mild sweetness of kinako powder. It also came with extra kinako powder, which was a nice touch. They also had the favorite products from "Kastera Nikki" in Fukushima. I will definitely visit again. Thank you for the delicious treats!

Mori no Okashi (¥950 including tax) had very polite customer service! In Kitashinchi, they only sell a set of 6 types, but in Tanimachi, they also have a set of 3 types, and they sell all varieties of dorayaki. Ohagi set of 6 types - overall, they have a simple and elegant feel. Not too sweet, not too assertive, using whole grains and black rice, giving a gentle and body-friendly impression. Daiohannan Zakkoku Mochi - a classic. The red bean paste is moist and goes well with the whole grains! Hojicha Black Rice Mochi - hojicha flavor, wow! It's generously spread and quite rich, but it's elegant so it's not too strong and very delicious. Deep Roasted Black Rice Mochi - a classic. Gentle taste. Walnut Black Rice Mochi - you can taste the walnut! It feels strange to have it in ohagi, but it's still delicious. Uji Matcha Black Rice Mochi - rich matcha flavor, classic and delicious. Peanut Zakkoku Mochi - lots of peanuts as toppings! You can enjoy the texture and it's delicious.

There were various types of ohagi, but in the end, the plain one was the best. I also purchased warabi mochi, castella, and others, but this one was the most delicious. In particular, the warabi mochi had a smooth and creamy texture that melted in your mouth, making it the perfect dessert after a meal. It's recommended to chill it in the refrigerator for 30 minutes before eating. The castella also had various flavors, and they were all delicious.

I revisited Mori-no-okashi, which opens in the evening and closes when sold out. I was torn between the Kitsuneiro dorayaki and this one. The price was under 500 yen, and it was named "Neji Neji Karin". When I tried it, it was simple and delicious.

Yesterday, since it was closed, I called to confirm if they were open for business... It turns out they were closed on Mondays, according to Tabelog!... I found out that they only offer ohagi in a set, which seems to be their specialty... I paid 950 yen in cash and left... I had it at home in the evening, and it had a unique texture with various flavors... It was elegantly sweet... It was okay.
