A few years ago, my partner stumbled upon a ramen shop during a tour. Unable to remember the location or name, we embarked on a drive to the Ohtotsk area in search of it. After a long day of wandering through places like Abashiri, Mombetsu, Wakkanai, and Takinoue, we ended up in Asahikawa for dinner. Disappointed, we were about to head back when we found ourselves in Tōkachi town's drinking district. The ramen shop had turned into a yakitori place, but a local told us it had moved and closed down due to health reasons. Feeling a mix of shock and relief, we decided to try a nearby ramen shop. My partner had miso ramen, and I had soy sauce ramen. We also ordered fried rice and beef tendon stew. The beef tendon stew was delicious, followed by the ramen and fried rice. The miso ramen was nostalgic and flavorful, while the soy sauce ramen was a bit too salty. The fried rice was unique with ground meat, onions, and green peppers cooked to perfection. We couldn't stop eating and enjoyed the unexpected find on our drive. Delicious ramen, fried rice, and stew, itadakimasu!

"Namachan" in Tohoku is alone. I only passed by for work, but should I have lunch and add one to the inventory? I feel like eating ramen, but I wonder if they have it. Of course, there are many restaurants I haven't been to, although they are listed on the food review website. Is there a place in the drinking district called "Namachan"? Yes, there is. The exterior looks average, but the interior is clean and quite spacious. I sit at the short side of the L-shaped counter and order the "Shio" ramen for 810 yen. The atmosphere is cold at my feet, but my head is heating up with anger. I am gradually becoming a cold person. If I were to say, "It's expensive!" to the big owner, he might tell me to leave. Surely they are not a couple, the woman is beautiful... So, what should I do? They are making ramen, but the smell is not very pleasant. It takes about 8 minutes. The owner is behind the counter. The lady is watching TV in the back room, so she must be busy. The noodles are straight with a firm texture. They don't seem to match well with this soup, at least not at first. The menma has a strong texture and a rich flavor, which I don't dislike. I don't know what kind of cutting method was used for the leeks, they are thinly sliced vertically at a length of 6 cm. The atmosphere is a mix of TV and Western music, so they probably don't want you to linger. It's driving me crazy. The seaweed is small, only two pieces. The chashu is pork belly chashu, salty but delicious. Surprisingly, I finished everything. The soup is light and tastes like chicken broth. It's a bit salty, but it has umami and richness. It's delicious. The 810 yen price still bothers me. The owner turned out to be a nice person in the end. There are idiots riding motorcycles while smoking, I wish the cigarette would go up their nostrils."

A ramen shop on Yuuai Street in Tohoku seems to have been an izakaya before, but it has been renovated into a ramen shop. The parking lot is shared with Soup Curry Cinnamon and has Cinnamon stamps on the stamp card. Maybe they are under the same management? The interior is surprisingly spacious and clean, with an L-shaped counter with about 10 seats. There are also table seats behind the counter and in the back. The menu offers various interesting ramen options such as ginger soy sauce, yuzu salt, plum salt, and soupless tantanmen. You can also order izakaya dishes. I decided to try the ginger soy sauce ramen. The appearance is topped with deep-fried lotus root, okra, burdock, and eggplant, like a soup curry. The ramen looks beautiful. The soup is packed with grated and chopped ginger. It gives an impression similar to "Shoga Ramen Mizuno" in Asahikawa. The noodles are medium-thick straight noodles with a smooth texture and a good throat feel. The deep-fried vegetables surprisingly go well with the ramen. I'm sure the other ramen options are also delicious. However, the prices are a bit high. I stumbled upon this place and found a great restaurant. I would like to try the yuzu salt or plum salt next time. It's a ramen shop where I want to try various things after a long time.

I dropped by for dinner. The restaurant seemed to have been renovated for a while and finally had a curtain hanging. Oh, the curtain has changed too? I asked, and it turns out they have become a ramen-focused shop. However, they still have the gobo tempura and yakisoba that they used to have, which is reassuring. So, since they have become a ramen shop, I decided to order the ginger soy sauce and spicy miso ramen. The ginger soy sauce ramen had fried vegetables on top, which looked stylish. It could use a bit more ginger flavor. It's refreshing and might be good after drinking alcohol. The spicy miso ramen was mildly spicy. It was basically just regular miso ramen. They brought out a homemade chili oil-like condiment and I added it. It seemed to have Sichuan pepper in it. I regretted adding it as I'm not a fan of strong spices. Maybe they should just stick to regular chili oil.
