Today, the shrimp kamaboko is 100 yen off... I sneak a quick glance at it when I go to the bathroom, haha. Of course, I stop by after using the restroom (´∀`). Do they fry it after taking the order? Or do they just warm it up? They give you a number tag and then call you when it's ready, so it's piping hot (^^). You can really taste the shrimp flavor and it was delicious.

When I looked closely, I realized that they close at 4:00 pm, so they only had shrimp and scallops left since it was already past 3:30 pm. Even though I was a last-minute customer, they were very accommodating and I am grateful for that. I want to go back again to try their rice. The kamaboko was not greasy at all, it was crispy and light, completely different from the famous one I usually eat. I couldn't stop eating it. This is definitely addictive. Thank you for the delicious meal!

This is a kamaboko shop at a Michi-no-Eki in Uryu Town. The name Uryu is quite impressive. It sounds cool. I was lured by the scent of freshly baked kamaboko at the Michi-no-Eki. This area is famous for its rice, so rice kamaboko would be interesting. Since I'm here, why not try rice kamaboko! It was ready in about 10 minutes. I received the hot kamaboko. Be careful, it's really hot so you might burn yourself. When I took a bite, the kamaboko was chewy and delicious. The sweet and salty flavor is tasty. This would go well with beer! I can't drink because I'm driving though, haha. The rice is mixed with the kamaboko, but since it's soft rice, the texture is softer than the kamaboko. So it doesn't stand out much... maybe octopus or something else would taste better. Thank you for the meal.

It's the Michi-no-Eki Ametatsu in Rain Ryu in 2022. On the way back from Sapporo, as usual, I stopped to buy rice. After soaking in the hot spring at Kitamura and feeling warm, and with a full stomach, I was so sleepy while driving... I managed to arrive by taking breaks along the way. When I entered the rest area's store, the "Unwashed Rice Nanatsuboshi" was, well, not there! Unwashed rice Nanatsuboshi is not available, but they do sell "Yumepirika" and "Unwashed Rice Yumepirika". So, I thought maybe I could just get the Unwashed Rice Yumepirika instead. But... the prices are different. Unwashed Rice Nanatsuboshi is 1950 yen for 5 kg, while Unwashed Rice Yumepirika is 2700 yen for 5 kg. Since my household consumes almost 15 kg of rice a month, the 2250 yen difference is significant (laughs). So, I decided to buy some kamaboko from Suzuki Kamaboko Shop at Ametatsu Michi-no-Eki Store since I couldn't buy Unwashed Rice Nanatsuboshi. It might sound strange (laughs). I ordered the tako tempura for 380 yen (tax included). Hmm, it's not bad but the flavor of the kamaboko is a bit weak... It's not bad, but it doesn't compare to Kamaei or Detzuka Suisan (laughs).

While on my way to work, I took a break at the Rain Ryu Road Station and decided to have a light meal at "Suzuki Kamaboko Shop." I tried the freshly fried kamaboko at the stores in Rumoi and Mashike, but I didn't really like the taste and the cost performance was not good, so I passed on it (Fried Kamaboko @380). This time, I ordered "Fried Takoyaki @350 (tax included)" as it was lunchtime. The staff told me it would take about 7 minutes. While waiting, I wandered around the "Local Products Direct Sales Store." I received it almost on time and enjoyed it in the car. The fried takoyaki had a crispy texture, and although the octopus was small, it was worth the price. It didn't fill me up much, but it was good for a light snack. Thank you for the meal.

Inside the Michi-no-Eki in Ametoyo Town. On the way back from Rumoi, we took a break at the Michi-no-Eki and tried their kamaboko. They had about 5 different types available, and they serve them freshly fried, so it takes a bit of time to prepare. This time, I bought the "Tako Ten (380 yen)" and "Ametoyo Maiage (350 yen)". The kamaboko had a bouncy texture and was quite large in size. It was a bit difficult to eat because it was piping hot, but it tasted good. Personally, I preferred the Tako Ten with its octopus accent and umami flavor. The prices may seem a bit high, but I think it's a good choice for those who like kamaboko.

During the consecutive holidays, I enjoyed the sunflowers in Kitahiro Town with my friend, and then we headed to the neighboring town of Uryu Town. We first had grilled chicken skewers and rice balls at the roadside station there. After feeling like having more, we decided to try here in the building of the roadside station. Suzuki Kamaboko Store, which I had eaten before, had a special Uryu rice tempura that caught my interest. Although I was curious about other popular menu items, I decided to try the limited edition product. They fry the kamaboko after receiving the order, so you can enjoy it fresh. The Uryu rice tempura is made by mixing Uryu rice into minced saffron cod and then frying it. When I tried it, I could feel the sweetness of the Uryu rice in the bouncy kamaboko. It was delicious, but I didn't want the rice flavor to be too overwhelming. It might end up feeling like eating rice while eating kamaboko. Haha. Thank you for the meal.

The station at Ametatsu Road is small, but as a fan of road stations, I couldn't resist wandering around. I found a fish cake shop (ΦωΦ)!! I had visited a different store before, but here they fry the fish cakes after you order them (つ^o^)つ Ametatsu Rice Fish Cake is a fish cake with Ametatsu rice mixed in. It's hot! The fish cake is quite bouncy, so the texture of the rice grains is not as impressive as I expected... haha There are some bits inside, giving a slightly bumpy sensation. But since it's freshly made, the fish cake itself was delicious. Thank you, Wu-ta-san! (((orz

That is... my life in a nutshell. I've been through a lot while driving, experiencing both good and bad things, and even coming close to freezing to death (a bit of a joke, but it can happen in reality). Now, it's been a while since I visited this roadside station, but I used to stop by often. It's quite a gourmet station. The pork miso soup here is delicious. I noticed that the fish cake shop is closed, not because it's early but because it's before opening hours. It's still too early, so I'm killing time. The shop gets crowded right after opening, it seems to be quite popular. Among them, the rice-filled fish cake is the most popular, and I bought one. The taste is simple, with a hint of rice, but it's quite good. Sometimes, a bowl of fish cake is nice.

On the way back from the second day of the Wakkanai trip, I stopped by Suzuki Kamaboko Store at the Ameyama Michi no Eki store. Despite being a kamaboko store, I ordered the "deep-fried potatoes" (250 yen). It was a rather indescribable food.

The rice fish cake has a chewy texture and a slightly sweet taste. The shrimp is crispy and has a nice aroma. However, it's a bit expensive for just one piece of fish cake.

Today, after a meeting at Ebetsu site, I went to see the sunflowers in Kitahiro. However, there was a line to enter the parking lot, so we decided to go somewhere else. The sunflowers were a bit smaller in scale, but they were blooming beautifully. After taking a look around, we went to this roadside station for lunch. But of course, it was full, so we went to "Suzuki Kamaboko Store" instead. I ordered the "Ameryu rice kamaboko" and received a number tag to wait. I got the freshly fried kamaboko and ate it in the car. It was delicious because it was piping hot. I finished it in no time. Well then, see you next time!

I stopped by on my way back from a business trip. I was feeling a bit hungry, so I went to a fish cake shop! It's nice to see freshly made fish cakes coming out. This time, I ordered "shrimp tempura" and "scallop tempura". After waiting a few minutes, the freshly made fish cakes arrived! Just the right amount to satisfy my hunger. It's delicious too♫ Thank you for the meal٩(๑❛ᴗ❛๑)۶

I visited this place as I passed by nearby. Since it is a roadside station, there were various shops, but this time, I ordered "Amadoko Rice Cracker" and "Shrimp Tempura". It's nice that they serve freshly made food. The freshly made fish cake is really delicious when it's hot! I enjoyed it right there on the spot! Freshly made food is always delicious♫ Thank you for the meal٩(๑❛ᴗ❛๑)۶

I tried the rice tempura at the Michi-no-Eki (roadside station) stamp rally book for a discount of 50 yen. It seemed interesting so I decided to buy it. The tempura was made by mixing rice into it, bringing out the natural sweetness of the rice. They made it after I ordered it, so I was able to eat it hot. They served it in just 2 minutes. The tempura coating had a fluffy texture, making it easy for even children to enjoy it as a snack. I have visited this place on weekends before, and there were times when only the Yuyuki rice was sold out. Maybe it's popular? But 350 yen seems a bit expensive...

I went to Asahikawa to visit a grave! Whenever I go to Asahikawa, I always stop by this Rain Dragon Michi-no-Eki. The shop is usually closed when I visit, but this time I left a bit later and it was open. The prices are quite high, but when I went on a trip to Mashike, it was really delicious. Rain Dragon deep-fried fish cake must be only available here. I casually hinted to my father, "I want to eat Rain Dragon deep-fried fish cake!" and he ordered something from the staff. He came back and said, "I bought deep-fried octopus balls!" I wanted to eat Rain Dragon deep-fried fish cake! The deep-fried octopus balls (8 pieces for 300 yen) were fried after ordering, so I waited for about 5 minutes. They were crispy on the outside and delicious. The fish cake is not cost-effective, but the octopus balls are. But next time, I definitely want to eat Rain Dragon deep-fried fish cake!

Arrived at the roadside station "Denen no Sato Uryu" in Amurucho just before 11 am during the Bon holiday on August 16, 2016. The parking lot was about 70% full. There is a kamaboko shop here, even though the main store is in Rumoi City. Perhaps because Rumoi doesn't have a roadside station? They are promoting limited menu items made with Amuru-grown rice. I was a bit skeptical about kamaboko with rice grains inside... would it taste good? So, I ordered the "Amuryu Maiage" (350 yen) and "Ebiten" (380 yen). The staff informed me that I could get a 50 yen discount on the Amuryu Maiage with my roadside station stamp book, so I hurried back to my car to get it. They fry the items after you order. I was given a number tag and called in about 5 minutes. The items were wrapped in a folded paper napkin, making it easy to eat by hand. First, I tried the Amuryu Maiage... oh, the sweetness of the rice is really nice! This is interesting. As for the Ebiten... the aroma of shrimp is delightful! It tastes like shrimp senbei. Both were delicious, hot and fresh! The Amuryu Maiage effectively promotes the use of Amuryu-grown rice and is a great limited menu item for the roadside station. It may seem a bit pricey for fast food, but if the stamp book discount of 300 yen were the regular price, I wouldn't have any complaints. The price of the Ebiten is the same at all stores, so it might actually be reasonable.
