This is a Sukiya restaurant in Nayoro. Nayoro is a town where the Yoshinoya at Aeon closed down, so this is the only major beef bowl chain restaurant here. By the way, there is also a Sukiya in Wakkanai, so this is not the northernmost store (the northernmost Yoshinoya is in Asahikawa). It's cold here, as expected. The toilet is frozen and unusable. They can't keep up with the snow removal. The inside of the restaurant is warm, and it's my usual breakfast spot. It's the only major beef bowl restaurant, so it's quite popular. There are not many places where you can have breakfast, so it's crowded in the morning too. The taste is just normal, the same as the stores in Sapporo or Tokyo.

While on a day trip to Okoppe Town, I stopped by Sukiya 40th Nayoro Branch for lunch. It's located along National Route 40 with parking available. I often rely on Sukiya when I'm on business trips, and this time I ordered the "Gyudon Regular Lunch Set (500 yen)". Sukiya offers a variety of gyudon and rice bowl options, as well as curry, but I went for the classic gyudon this time. Thinking ahead for my work after lunch, I opted for the regular size for a satisfying and delicious meal. I finished my meal in about 10 minutes and headed towards Okoppe Town.

I ordered the Kinoko Peperoncino Gyudon (beef bowl) regular size at Sukiya. Before going to Sukiya, I had a dish called "Uggugu" for lunch at a cafeteria, which didn't taste good. So, I decided to have a second lunch at Sukiya, which I found near TSUTAYA Nayoro store. When I saw the sign for Kinoko Peperoncino Gyudon, I ordered it. The second lunch was a success.

Mini pork bowl with clam soup and salad set, regular beef bowl with miso soup set. The beef bowl from Sukiya is featured in a commercial, but I am definitely a fan of the pork bowl. The slightly sweet sauce is what makes it stand out. My husband usually chooses the beef bowl, but he mentioned that the sauce was a bit too spicy for his liking. The clam soup had plenty of clams and a rich broth. While it's convenient that the food is served quickly at beef bowl restaurants, it can be a bit concerning if there are mistakes. I point at the menu when ordering, so I was sure I didn't make any mistakes, but I ended up with miso soup instead of clam soup in my set. I didn't notice until my husband pointed it out. The amount of salad served was just right, and it's nice to have some greens to balance out all the meat. When my husband checked the receipt, he noticed that the price of his set was incorrect. They corrected it when we mentioned it during payment, but the new receipt was all smudged. As we walked out of the restaurant, my husband chuckled, and I couldn't help but laugh too.

Be aware that you can no longer dine in the restaurant after 8:00 PM at this time. Takeout only. I had to eat in my car.
