A new restaurant, Meat General Haruyoshi Nishinakasu, has opened on the 3rd floor of the Haruyoshi Intersection Building in Chuo Ward, Fukuoka City. Although it’s located in a bustling area, it can be a bit hard to find since it’s on the 3rd floor. The restaurant is right by the elevator. I visited on a weekend around 9 PM, and there was only one other group ahead of me, so it still feels like a hidden gem!
Inside, the atmosphere is stylish and bar-like, creating a chic ambiance for a yakiniku (grilled meat) restaurant. I was seated by a window, enjoying my meal while watching the people pass by on the Kokkaido road, which was wonderful! Plus, to celebrate the grand opening, all specified drinks are only 100 yen, which is a great deal!
Ordering is done via a mobile ordering system, and I was encouraged to pay by credit card. I started off with a Suntory draft beer, also just 100 yen, and it was enjoyable and quite substantial! The dipping sauces include an original sauce, lemon sauce, pink rock salt (for a fee), and optional wasabi, garlic, and gochujang.
I ordered the chicken mix for 1280 yen, which included young chicken thighs, chicken neck, soft cartilage, and gizzards, all of which were high-quality meat, tender, and delicious! I also tried the mixed five types of offal for 1280 yen, made from the Itoshima pork brand from Fukuoka, which is safe and reliable. This included pieces like pork throat, heart, and brisket, and it was surprisingly high quality and tasty!
The wagyu short rib (medium span) was just 1050 yen; it was reasonably priced, thick, and excellent quality—absolutely mouthwatering! For the finale, I had the stone-grilled bibimbap for 850 yen, which had unique ingredients like a fried egg, minced meat, namul, spinach, and bean sprouts. I added gochujang, garlic, and the dipping sauce, mixed it all up, and let it sit, creating a delicious crispy burn at the bottom—so good!
I also ordered the Yukgaejang soup for 700 yen, which was hot, moderately spicy, and packed with ingredients like pork, spinach, and bean sprouts, making it delightful as well! Honestly, I didn’t have high expectations for the meat quality, but it exceeded what I had anticipated—affordable and delicious!
I apologize for underestimating it! In the heart of Nishinakasu, it’s a calm and pleasant atmosphere for enjoying grilled meat. The billing process is also straightforward and transparent. This really is a hidden gem—highly recommended!
