After several years, I visited a nostalgic coffee shop with a Showa-era atmosphere. The background music happened to be songs by Takuro Yoshida, making it feel like I had traveled back in time to the good old days. I ordered the country-style hot pot udon, which was served in a hot iron pot. The udon was the highlight, with a unique texture that was simply amazing. Unlike typical hot pot udon, it had a fantastic mouthfeel that made me want to keep eating. The delicious udon paired perfectly with the nostalgic soup, bringing back memories of the Showa era and making me feel like a child again.

Today, I was searching for a place to have lunch near my house when I came across a restaurant that I vaguely remembered hearing about decades ago. I decided to check it out, and when I arrived, I noticed that the building had been renovated. There was only one other group of customers there, so I took a seat towards the back. The staff seemed to be older and more experienced than me, probably locals. I decided to order the omurice, which cost ¥850 including tax. When it arrived after a 10-minute wait, it looked simple and unimpressive. The omurice turned out to be just ketchup rice inside an omelette, lacking in both flavor and portion size. It was neither good nor bad, just mediocre. I had hoped for something special from a restaurant with such a long history, but unfortunately, it was a disappointment. Maybe the coffee is better, but I didn't try it. The atmosphere inside the restaurant was nice and calm, though, and it was a non-smoking establishment.

To the nearby "Aoi Hashi" restaurant. I visited at a time that could be considered neither breakfast nor lunch. I ordered the Pork Golden Fry for 800 yen and the Pork Dry Curry for 900 yen. The Pork Golden Fry was delicious, with pork and shiso leaves mixed with egg and cooked. However, the pork was too thin. The Pork Dry Curry had slightly thicker meat compared to the Pork Golden Fry, but the overall cost performance was not great. This place has a cozy atmosphere, good for when you want to relax.

I started walking around Miyanozawa Station. It's cold out here! I've been walking for 35 minutes, but I still haven't warmed up completely. Took a break to warm up and had a coffee for 350 yen. It came out quickly, probably because they were just about to open. It tasted good - a bit strong with a nice balance of sweetness and bitterness, and just a hint of acidity. Classical music was playing softly in the background. The menu seemed to focus more on meals, which is great because there aren't many lunch options around here. It was a nice and relaxing break, and now I'm feeling warmer. I think I'll come back for lunch next time. Thank you for the meal!

Near Miyano-sawa Station on the subway, it's lunchtime... I wanted to eat soba nearby, but the soba shop was temporarily closed due to the influence of the coronavirus. Well, there are plenty of other shops around, so I decided to head to a bakery. However, that bakery was also closed temporarily. Frustrated, I made my way to the next bakery, but it had a sign saying "We are relocating." Feeling disappointed, I stumbled upon a place called "Kitchen Aoihashi." The restaurant had a nostalgic feel to it with two older men inside, playing Chopin music in the background. The decor included stamps, paintings, and calligraphy. The capacity was small, with a few tables available. I decided to order the "Napolitan pasta for 800 yen" (tax included). The dish arrived quickly, and it consisted of onions, green peppers, tomatoes, shimeji mushrooms, and mushrooms in a light ketchup-like sauce. The pasta was cooked well, but the flavor was not what I expected for Napolitan pasta. I added some Tabasco and powdered cheese to enhance the taste. Overall, the dish was decent, but not exceptional for the price.

On a certain weekday, I visited a cafe in the Nishi-ku Miyanosawa Station area that seemed to have been in business for a long time. The parking lot in front of the store was convenient with several spaces available. The interior of the store was just as expected from the outside, with a classic design featuring 4 neatly arranged table seats and a sharp-looking man and an elderly gentleman welcoming guests. Majestic classical music played in the background. Looking at the menu, I noticed some dishes that seemed different from the usual, but I decided to try the "Omelette Rice (850 yen)" that the reviewer had not yet tried. Oh, the elderly gentleman is in charge of cooking! After a while, the dish was ready. Hmm? It's small... Let me take a bite... The omelette rice, which was about 2/3 to 1/2 the size of a regular cafe omelette rice, had a slightly runny texture inside the darker egg, and the balance with the salty ketchup when eaten together with the traditional chicken rice was good. The salad consisted mainly of shredded cabbage with a sesame dressing, accompanied by fried tofu, seaweed, wheat gluten, and miso soup. The minimum-sized omelette rice set with salad and miso soup for 850 yen... opinions may vary on this. However, the unpleasant smell in the store when entering as a customer left a bad impression, although it became familiar during the stay. It felt like a shame that such a serious-looking pair might not notice such a detail with their seemingly meticulous care. Thank you for the meal.

When I went, most of the customers were elderly. There were no young people today either. I ordered the standard ginger pork set meal. I thought it would be lighter in taste, but it was quite rich. However, it was delicious. I recommend the slightly elaborate pork golden fry set meal. My intuition tells me that the curry is probably delicious too...

It is located about a 5-minute walk from Miyanosawa Station on the Sapporo Municipal Subway, facing north on the old National Route 5. When you enter the entrance, there are table seats towards the back. Classical music is playing inside the restaurant. I looked at the menu on the table and decided to order the "Golden Grilled Pork" that I had already chosen. Looking around, there was a table for two, two tables for four, one table for three, and one table for six. After about 15 minutes, the dish was brought to me. The cabbage salad is finely shredded, and the sesame-flavored dressing on top is well mixed. There were sliced bananas hidden in the salad. The main dish, "Golden Grilled Pork," consisted of thinly sliced pork with one side covered with leaves and the other side with a thin omelet. It was served in a generous portion. It tastes even better when dipped in grated radish soy sauce. The price for the Golden Grilled Pork is 800 yen including tax. Inside the restaurant, there is a painting of "Asahidake" by Sakamoto Naoyuki, the grandson of Ryoma Sakamoto's nephew, and there are plenty of books related to Naoyuki.

Located a 4-minute walk from Subway Miyano-Sawa Station. This is a street-level shop along the old Route 5. Parking is available. The exterior has a vibe of a Western-style cafe. Inside, the wooden walls are impressive, with mainly table seating. The space is not very large. The walls are decorated with railway photos. I visited on a Saturday afternoon. There were 5 customers in total. It seems like a place frequented by locals. On this day, I ordered a blend coffee for 350 yen. Although I couldn't see how the coffee was brewed from my seat, it had a mild and standard taste without any strong flavors.

Miyanozawa Station, Exit 5. Head towards Seiyu and Hokkaido Bank, there is a crossroads on the left side. Next to Miyanozawa Neurosurgery. Buses stop at Nishi-machi Kita 20-chome, just a short walk away. I had always wanted to visit this place since I saw the local TV station covering it. By chance, I stopped by after getting a brain check-up at Miyanozawa Neurosurgery. The lodge-style interior with elementary school songs playing in the background creates a quiet atmosphere. As a non-smoker, I appreciate the fact that it is completely smoke-free. It's more like a Western-style cafe with a variety of dishes like curry, pizza, udon, soba, and omurice. I was hungry, so I ordered the ginger pork. The taste was okay. The ginger pork costs 750 yen and coffee is 200 yen. It's not cheap, but the place seems to have many regular customers who appreciate the owner's personality.

The background music with the sound of a koto playing is lovely. It has been quite a while since I last visited, almost 20 years ago. I had my film developed here before. There were an elderly couple running the shop, serving water and proper hand towels when you sit down. It's completely smoke-free, making it quite comfortable for a café setting. I was there during a waiting period, so I only had a hot coffee. The coffee had a tangy acidity that hit the tongue first, with not too much bitterness. It felt like they were using lightly roasted coffee beans. At one point, what seemed to be the second owner and a dog came into the shop, so if you like dogs, you might enjoy interacting with them. It's convenient that they offer Softbank Wi-Fi, and there are outlets near the tables, so if you have a charger, they might let you use it. It seems to have many regular customers, but it's a relaxing space to unwind. The table seating consists of two tables for six, two for three, and one for four people. ☆☆☆ Next Episode Preview ☆☆☆ Next time, I plan to come for lunch and try their food.

Kitchen Aoihashi is located in Nishi-ku, Sapporo. It is a regular cafe located behind a pharmacy, with a feeling of a normal coffee shop. It is easy to find as it is along Route 5, heading towards from the Higashi-Sapporo Station on the Sapporo Municipal Subway Tozai Line. When I arrived after 4 pm, there were no customers and the lights were off, giving the impression that the owner was taking a break. Despite this, I was assured that meals were still available, so I decided to have a late lunch. The menu had a variety of options, but I chose the Pork Golden Fry this time. It consists of pork loin coated in egg and cooked, served with a special soy sauce with grated radish for a refreshing taste. Although the rice portion was small, the owner kindly offered seconds when I asked for more. The potato salad side dish was also good, with warm vegetables and tasty dressing. I ordered coffee after the meal and enjoyed the relaxing atmosphere. Not only the coffee, but the meal options were also varied, making it a convenient spot for lunch. Thank you for the delicious meal.

Welcome! Located in the Nishi-ku, Nishimachi area, just off the Nishi 5-jo Teine Line towards Miyanosawa, there's a cafe with a unique facade that says "Kitchen" - but it's actually a cafe. As I entered, I was greeted by the owner and the interior had a cozy, old-fashioned cafe vibe with music playing in the background. The kitchen was being managed by a young man, perhaps the son of the owners. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, with the owner making animal balloons in the back. I decided to try the daily special, which turned out to be a delicious pork ginger stir-fry set. The food was homely and comforting, and the salad and potato salad were also homemade and tasty. Overall, it was a pleasant experience with friendly staff and delicious food. Thank you for the hospitality!

I stopped by this place as it is easily visible from the national highway and seemed to be a cafe-style Western restaurant. The daily lunch menu is selected from the main menu and comes with complimentary coffee. I had the lunch set similar to Pork Katsu, which included miso soup and neatly shredded cabbage. The price was around 800 yen, including the coffee, and smoking is allowed. I would like to visit again for a break. The gentle white-haired owner is truly kind and welcoming. There is also a parking lot available, so I will definitely stop by again.
