Ordered the last-minute lunch set at 2:55 pm on a Monday in November 2023. Started with the soy sauce ramen, a soup with a gentle and delicious "soy sauce flavor." The soup pairs perfectly with the toothsome noodles, making it irresistible to slurp them all up ♡ The mini pork bowl, with onions and pickled ginger, is also a delightful treat that you can't stop enjoying. The lunch service ends at 3 pm, so I'm glad I made it in time. Thank you for the meal!

Nostalgic flavor. At lunchtime, I ordered the white miso ramen. It had a slightly sweet miso flavor with a hint of spiciness from the shichimi togarashi. It tasted milder than when I had it 40 years ago. The chashu was tender, and the medium-thick curly noodles complemented it well. The portion size was also generous. Despite being located in a residential area, the restaurant had a steady stream of customers. I hope they continue to thrive for many years to come.

I'm weak when it comes to the word "original"! I heard they have the original black miso ramen, so I decided to try it! I got the set with mini fried rice! The fried rice was delicious, maybe because the restaurant has a Chinese name. Of course, the black miso ramen was also delicious, but the fried rice was the highlight! The set menu is affordable and tasty, making this place really nice! I might go back just for the fried rice!

Black Miso Ginger Ramen Medium Spicy for 800 yen. Today's lunch was at the main branch of Kourinbou. It was my first time at this branch, although I have been to other Kourinbou locations a few times before. I have also visited the branch in Obihiro a few times. As it gets colder, I tend to crave black miso ginger ramen. The dish was served in about 10 minutes. The thick slices of chashu had a nice ginger aroma. The soup had a strong punch to it. The noodles from Suto Seimen were delicious and paired well with the soup. It was a satisfying and warming meal. Although they usually recommend leaving half of the soup, I ended up drinking about 80% of it.

This is the main store of Hikarimbo in Suehiro, Asahikawa City. I visited the "Hikarimbo Dobutsuen-dori Store" three years ago. It's been a while since I had Hikarimbo's ramen. I wanted to have a set meal with rice, but they don't offer it on Sundays and holidays. So, I decided to order each item separately. I had the "Black Miso Ginger Flavor Ramen (Spicy)" for 800 yen and the "Mini Fried Rice" for 350 yen. The dishes arrived in about 10 minutes. The Black Miso Ginger Flavor Ramen (Spicy) is one of the signature dishes of this restaurant. The soup made with black miso is surprisingly light, and the ginger flavor is subtle. The spicy taste of the soup is delicious. The noodles are medium-thin, low-water noodles from Sudo Seimen, and the toppings include thick pork shoulder chashu, salted bamboo shoots, green onions, and stir-fried bean sprouts and carrots. The stir-fried vegetables go well with the miso flavor, and the thick chashu is a nice touch. The Mini Fried Rice is surprisingly tasty, with finely chopped chashu, crab sticks, onions, green peas, and eggs. I visited shortly after the restaurant opened, and it started to get crowded later on, indicating its popularity, especially on Sundays!

Ramen delivery at my parents' house. The black miso ginger ramen here is loved by the whole family, so we often order it. This time, it seemed very busy due to the New Year, so the noodles were a bit overcooked and not as hot as usual, which was a shame... Well, we all know it's delicious, so it's okay this time. The thick chashu was still delicious, and we were all satisfied! Thank you for the meal!

In May 2021, there are only four reviews including this one. I must say, I put a lot of effort into the title for May. Oh! I'm praising myself again! Just kidding! The title is actually an homage to the gag by Kinshichi Hasegawa, "Caramel! Silver Tooth Thief!" It's great that it's selling well! I can't remember the face of the other Hasegawa from Kinshichi... So, this review is about "Kourinbou Honten" restaurant. I thought there was a place called Kourinbou in Kanazawa, but it turns out it's actually "Kourinbou" district. Actually, I visited this place the day after I got into a traffic accident... it was on my way back from the orthopedic clinic. I ordered the Black Miso Ginger Ramen with a mini rice bowl (fried rice) set for 950 yen. The soup itself has a nice richness from the black miso, but the ginger is just too overpowering. I'm not a fan of ginger ramen... If you don't like it, then it can't be helped, right? (laughs) If you don't like it, then why order ginger flavor, right? On the other hand, the fried rice is moist with a strong soy sauce flavor. Despite being a mini bowl, it's quite filling and tasty. I prefer the fried rice over the ramen!

This time, the revenge was... fried rice... ( ̄▽ ̄;) I wanted to eat delicious fried rice because the last one I had was disappointing. I prefer the kind you can find at a ramen shop, but I also like the home-cooked style made by a kind mother. I have two favorite places for fried rice. The lunch menu offers a choice of ramen with a mini rice bowl for 900-950 yen. If you choose salt or shoyu ramen, it's 900 yen, and if you choose miso ramen, it's 950 yen. There is an option to add extra spiciness for an additional cost. The atmosphere inside the restaurant is fast-paced and bustling. The first impression upon arrival was the thick slices of chashu, which were more than 1cm thick and tender. The black miso ramen had a rich flavor with a hint of ginger, and the noodles were firm, which I like. The vegetables were cooked just right. The only downside was that the dishes were slightly warm. The special shoyu ramen had a large bowl and plenty of thick chashu slices, making it quite a hearty meal. The fried rice was a bit soft and lacked a bit of flavor. I was hoping for something similar to the fried rice at a certain restaurant in Kitamachi. Looking forward to the next fried rice revenge... Bon appétit! ( *ˊᵕˋ* )

The cold days continue, but I felt like eating hot ramen, so I visited a ramen shop. When I arrived and looked at the menu, I noticed that the black miso ginger chashu ramen that I had last time had gone up to over 1000 yen. It used to be 950 yen, but now it was 1050 yen. I hesitated because I have a frugal nature and don't like spending over 1000 yen on ramen. After much consideration, I ended up ordering the black miso ginger ramen for 800 yen. It was just a regular choice in the end. The ramen arrived relatively quickly after ordering. When I took a sip of the hot soup, I could taste the strong ginger flavor and spiciness. It was consistently delicious. I slurped the noodles while blowing on them and finished every last drop of the soup. By the time I finished eating, I was slightly sweaty. The delicious ramen warmed both my body and soul. It was a satisfying meal. Thank you!

When it gets cold, there are certain foods that you crave, right? For me, it's this black miso ginger ramen. The ginger warms up my body. The shop recently expanded to the zoo street, but the main shop is still the best. The atmosphere is very cozy with a Showa era vibe, and the friendly owner is always there. I hope these kinds of shops stay around. This time, I ordered the regular black miso ginger ramen with extra chashu (950 yen). The chashu here is thick-cut and melts in the soup, which is really delicious. The ramen arrived in about 5 minutes, covered in chashu so you can't see the noodles. There are about 5-6 large slices of chashu. When I tried the soup, it was just like the usual black miso ginger! It's rich because of the miso, but the ginger flavor makes it easier to drink, in my opinion. The menma has a nostalgic soft texture, and the noodles are slightly thin, with bean sprouts and other vegetables, making it easy to slurp up. But this chashu, it's so tender and tasty when mixed with the soup, but it's quite heavy. If you want a hearty meal, I highly recommend it. I finished it all in less than 10 minutes. It's been a while, but it was really delicious. As it gets colder, I'll definitely be back a few more times. Thank you for the warm and delicious black miso ginger ramen!

2018/8 First Visit, 72nd Ramen Shop of Heisei 30 Era After doing some research, I found out that in addition to the main store in Asahikawa, there are 3 other stores in Hifuto, Higashikagura, and Hokkaido. There is also one in Obihiro. It seems like "Kourinbou" is the main store here. While "Shouyu Ramen" is the basic "Asahikawa Ramen," surprisingly, there are many delicious shops that also offer "Miso" ramen. Intrigued by this, I decided to visit this place. Let's try the recommended dish. It seems like all the staff, including the kitchen, are women. They also offer delivery service, as I can hear them confirming addresses. They are a member of the "Hokkaido Shinbun Club," which offers a 50 yen discount. I ordered the "Spicy Black Miso Ginger Ramen" for 750 yen. Despite being called black miso, the miso flavor is quite light. Since it's my first time, I opted for the spicy version. I don't mind spicy food, but I don't want it to overpower the taste. The refreshing miso was unexpected, and the ginger flavor is not too strong. It's an easy-to-eat light miso. The pork shoulder chashu is thick and substantial. The bean sprouts complement the miso well. The seasoned bamboo shoots add a nice touch. The noodles are from a local supplier, Suto Seimen, and are medium-thin with low water content. They pair well with this miso. Asahikawa miso ramen can be quite rich or spicy, but this one is a sharper type of miso ramen. With a wide variety of ramen options on the menu, including crab, scallop, and cutlet, this place seems to differentiate itself from traditional Asahikawa ramen shops. Next time, I'd like to try a set menu or the Shoyu ramen to truly gauge the quality of this place.

I visited a restaurant last week called "Kourinbo" in Asahikawa, located at 5-7-7 Suehiro. The menu offers ramen starting from 600 yen, with set menus also available. I tried the miso ramen with pork bowl set for 900 yen. You can choose the level of spiciness for the miso, and I went with medium spicy. The miso flavor was really good, and I look forward to trying the black miso ginger next time. Overall, it was a delicious meal.

This place doesn't have a particularly unique taste, but it's a great spot to go after sports. I think soy sauce flavor is probably the main one here.

A friend who has different taste preferences recommended a restaurant to me, saying "It's delicious!" Although I was a bit skeptical, I decided to check it out since I had been curious about it for a while. The restaurant is called "Kourinbou Main Store," a ramen shop located at 7-5-7 Suehiro, Asahikawa City. On this hot day, I went there with the intention of trying their chilled noodles. The friendly owner welcomed me and I sat at a table in a quiet corner. I ordered the chilled noodles, which are usually hit or miss for me. Most of the time, they turn out too sour or have a strange taste. However, this time, the noodles were a pleasant surprise. The gyoza (dumplings) I ordered as a side dish were delicious and well-made. The chilled noodles had a light and refreshing flavor, perfect for a hot day. I was impressed by the quality and care put into the dishes. I enjoyed the meal so much that I'm curious to try their regular hot ramen next time. It seems like my friend and I finally found a restaurant that we both like!

There are still ramen shops in Asahikawa that I have never been to, even among the long-established and trendy ones. Sometimes I just impulsively turn the steering wheel and park my car in front of such a shop, and then I have no choice but to go in. That's how I ended up at "Kuromi Shouga," a place my friends had told me was delicious many times. I ordered the medium spicy level, which was just right - it had a good amount of spiciness without being too overwhelming. The ginger flavor was subtle and not overpowering, which I personally prefer a bit stronger. Overall, it was a very delicious ramen, and now I can cross off one more "famous shop I've never been to" from my list.

On the second day of my business trip to Furano, on the way to Asahikawa Airport from Furano, I asked a local gas station attendant for a delicious ramen shop recommendation and they told me about this place. I tried the Black Miso Ginger Ramen. The soup was a black miso broth with a strong ginger flavor that warmed my stomach, which was feeling the effects of overindulging the night before at Kumagera. The noodles were the typical medium-thick, yellow curly noodles commonly found in Hokkaido ramen. The bowl also included vegetables like onions, carrots, and bean sprouts, as well as chashu, green onions, and bamboo shoots. The ramen had a homemade feel and was delicious, but I found myself getting slightly tired of it halfway through. Perhaps the ginger flavor was a bit monotonous. However, as time passed, I found myself craving it again.

The restaurant chain store located at Shijo Station in Asahikawa closed 19 years ago and was replaced by a different shop called Raira. Today, I visited the main store of Kourinbo, which opened 19 years ago in Suehiro. I usually only eat miso ramen on Fridays or Saturdays because the aged garlic smell can be bothersome during work the next day. The menu at Kourinbo is extensive, starting with the "Special Black Miso Ginger Ramen." I asked for the regular miso ramen, which was pointed out to me on the menu as "Miso Ramen - Sweet, Spicy, Medium Spicy, Spicy @700 yen." The soup had a balanced blend of pork bone, garlic, and vegetables, with a sweet and spicy miso flavor. The noodles were firm and well-cooked, and the chashu was thick and flavorful. The shop owner mentioned that they use natural spring water for the drinking water and tap water from Asahikawa for cooking. The shop closes at 8:30 pm, contrary to the incorrect information on the internet. The owner also mentioned that their sister shop, Raira, uses their miso, and that they have other shops in Hokkaido and mainland Japan. I look forward to researching more about this shop in the future.
