I visited Asakusa Yokocho for the first time! Most of the shops were monjayaki restaurants, but I decided to try Raimonjya, which offered a very reasonable all-you-can-drink deal! Having electric brandy included in the drink options is amazing. I ordered some snacks to enjoy while I was there, but next time I plan to try the monjayaki. Thank you for the meal!

I had some business in Asakusa, so I stopped by. There’s a photo spot on the 4th floor of the building, which I recommend for tourists. I ordered beef tendon and green onion okonomiyaki, and shrimp garlic monjayaki. If you don’t know how to cook it, the staff will kindly cook it for you. The monjayaki was cut very finely with a spatula, and it was delicious! They also provided attentive service to foreign customers. I recommend this place to tourists as well.

There is a narrow alley underneath a hotel in Asakusa, where an apparel retail store is located above. I visited a trendy-looking monjayaki shop for a day drink. The clientele was a mix of inbound tourists and young people, and I was seated at the back. I felt rushed to place my order and ended up ordering a highball for 495 yen. I also chose the seemingly inexpensive "Downtown Monjayaki" for 769 yen and a quick side of "Pickled Cucumbers" for 439 yen. The highball, which was the size you'd expect in a tourist area, arrived promptly, and I was surprised by the 330 yen macaroni salad that was served as an appetizer. It turned out to be a good snack. The cucumbers and monjayaki came out together, and I started grilling. To my surprise, the monjayaki was plentiful with ingredients and had less liquid than I expected. I noticed someone at the next table had a draft beer, so I ordered one for 550 yen. It was important to mix it well, or the ingredients would bunch up, but I had a great time overall. My stay lasted about 30 minutes, after which taking the escalator would lead me directly to the apparel section.

On Saturday evening, while most places were crowded, we found a quiet spot and decided to have some tea. We ended up lightly enjoying some monja with three people and had a leisurely time! We ordered both monja and yakisoba, but they were a bit too salty for our taste. The staff was friendly, and they even cooked the yakisoba for us!

This summer, at the newly opened "Asakusa Yokicho," the atmosphere of the shop reminds me of a traditional festival, which is really exciting! It's also great for young families that there's a space where small children can play freely. We ordered dishes like "Raijin Monja" with seafood, spicy cod roe, mochi, and cheese, as well as deep-fried green onion pancakes and garlic octopus with butter scallops. We also tried fruity squashes with flavors like almond & lychee and blue apple & pineapple. Listening to nostalgic Showa-era BGM, we patiently waited for our food to cook on the hot plate. We all enjoyed a fun and delicious meal together! 😊

We decided to go bar hopping in Asakusa and used this place for our second stop. They offer a wide variety of monjayaki and okonomiyaki, ranging from classic to unique options, which was really fun. Since it wasn't crowded, the staff made the dishes for us, which was great. We chose the barrel sour for drinks. Since both of us usually only drink tea highballs, we shared one, and it was enough for us.
