I had lunch at Yume Soukan. I sat in the back where there were seats and ordered the Napolitan and today's cake set after looking at the menu. There were plenty of books, so I can relax and read while enjoying my meal. The Napolitan came with soup but no salad... It had a ketchup flavor and cost ¥600, which seemed reasonable. The mocha cake was delicious though. The coffee was a bit weak for my taste. The total for lunch and dessert was ¥1200.

When looking at this store's social media, all I see are event announcements and no information about the restaurant itself. I started to doubt if they were really open, but after finding their website, I confirmed that they were indeed open and decided to visit. The entrance is through a windbreak room in a large stone warehouse-like building near Shimamatsu Station. Inside, there are small tables for two and benches, with the actual restaurant located further inside. The food menu is not extensive, but all items are reasonably priced. My spouse and I, being similar in taste, both ended up choosing the Chinese rice bowl. While waiting, I looked around the interior and noticed the high ceilings providing a sense of openness. However, I imagine it would require a boiler to heat the entire building in winter. Next door, there was a small hall resembling a gym where a few people with musical instruments gathered. The restaurant is run by two women, but my wife whispered to me, "I can't hear any cooking sounds, can you?" Despite the kitchen being right behind the register, all we heard were the voices of the two women and a smartphone ringing. When the Chinese rice bowls arrived, they were on the smaller side. The taste was neither good nor bad, and we finished eating in a somewhat indifferent manner. Thank you for the meal.

I parked my car at Shimamatsu Station for errands and then bought coffee at a café right in front of the station. The café, located inside a stone warehouse-like building, offers a variety of drinks, shaved ice, frozen desserts, cakes, and sweets. Although I didn't have much time that day, I got my coffee to go, but I would love to spend some time in the lovely atmosphere inside the café next time. The coffee was a hand drip with a mild bitterness and strong acidity, not exactly to my taste but still refreshing and easy to drink. I look forward to trying their caramel sundae when I have more time. Thank you, "Yume Soukan" café!

I visited the Yumisokan in front of Shimamatsu Station in June 2022. It is a lovely building made of soft stone, with an event hall where concerts are sometimes held. I had Neapolitan pasta and iced coffee at the cafe here. The Neapolitan pasta was delicious with plenty of ketchup on bell peppers, paprika, and mushrooms. I like to sprinkle lots of Tabasco on top. The iced coffee was also to my liking.

Visit date: March 17, 2021, around 1:30 PM. After having a meal, I visited the store "Yume Soukan Club". I used the paid parking lot next to the store, which is free for up to 30 minutes. The exterior of the store resembles a warehouse, and it seems like there is an event hall on the right side, although I did not enter it. The cafe space had a variety of books on the shelves, including some difficult ones. The menu was in the form of a picture book. I ordered the "Cake of the Day (¥350)". The cake arrived surprisingly quickly. Based on other reviews, it seems to be the "Strawberry Torte". The sponge was light, and the strawberry flavor was well balanced with sweetness and sourness. The sweetness of the whipped cream was also just right. The store is conveniently located near Shimamatsu Station. However, I noticed that another store, "Karamitou", which is also close to Shimamatsu Station, did not seem to be open. Perhaps they have closed down? (Note: According to information from kimumiyu, it seems like they are temporarily closed. I will visit again once they reopen!) Thank you for the meal.

On a certain weekday, I went on a little expedition for lunch to a cafe located near Shimamatsu Station, in a historic-looking warehouse. The parking space next to the cafe is small, so it is recommended to park at the station parking lot across the street, where you can park for free for 2 hours. Inside the cafe, the high ceiling of the brick warehouse creates a spacious atmosphere, with a community space in the front and a cafe space on a slightly elevated level with a counter and table seating. There seems to be a larger hall to the right of the entrance, although it was not confirmed. The BGM playing is from an FM radio. On this day, I decided to try the "Curry Rice (550 yen)" from the menu, which had a simple cafe menu structure at a reasonable price. The curry took some time to be served, making me wonder if it was reheated from a commercial product. Upon tasting it, I found the flavor surprisingly complex, with hints of fruit adding a unique twist. The meat slices seemed like they might have been modified from a commercial product to give it an original touch. Although I didn't order coffee this time, the lunch set was affordable and convenient with parking available. Thank you for the meal.

On a weekday when it's not as crowded as on weekends, I aimed to visit the popular Butadon Kukai, but unexpectedly it was closed for the day. So, I decided to go to this place instead: - Yakiniku Pilaf: 550 yen - Today's Cake (Mocha): 350 yen - Wiener Coffee: 400 yen The yakiniku pilaf had a modest amount of meat but was delicious. The overall portion was also small but it was reasonably priced. The cake of the day was mocha flavor. The Wiener Coffee had a generous serving for its price of 400 yen, making it a convenient and affordable option for everyday use. The atmosphere of the restaurant, with its stone and wood walls, was pleasant. Overall, it was a satisfying meal. In 2012, I decided to visit the cultural facility Dream Soukan near Shimamatsu Station. There is a cafe inside the facility, which has recently been renovated. The high ceilings and stone and wood walls create a calming atmosphere. The music playing in the background was by Billy Joel. The food may not be gourmet, but it's just the right amount for women. The Ebi Pilaf came with wakame soup and had a classic flavor. The Eggplant Arrabbiata, with a tomato-based sauce, was slightly spicy. Adding powdered cheese made it milder. The female staff were friendly, often engaging in conversation. As I was leaving, I mistook another customer for a staff member because of how familiar they seemed. It was a pleasant dining experience, and the elderly lady I visited was also in good spirits. Thank you for the meal.

I wanted to have lunch with Shimamatsu-chan at a weird time, and I wanted to eat Pork Bowl from Kukai-san if I had a car, but I ended up jumping into a cafe near the station that was empty. It was a building with high ceilings that seemed to be converted from a warehouse. There is an open feeling. The counter also has a nice atmosphere. I ordered shrimp pilaf. Coffee was a little cheaper when ordered with a meal. I would like to try various menus. It's a cozy space that is close to the community.

I visited this place in May 2015 because I wanted to try their Neapolitan dish that I read about in a travel magazine. When I entered the building, I couldn't tell if it was a lounge or a café, as the boundary was unclear, and the smell of delicious coffee filled the air. It seemed like one person was taking orders and preparing the food. Although the magazine mentioned there were multiple staff members, I didn't mind waiting leisurely as I didn't have urgent matters to attend to or was extremely hungry. The Neapolitan dish, served vertically as shown in the photo, arrived. For 550 yen, it was a decent portion size. The nostalgic Neapolitan dish was tasty, with firm noodles that I personally enjoyed. It was worth the visit. The 150 yen coffee after the meal was also delicious. However, I couldn't fully relax as the place felt like an extension of the lounge area.
