On the way to a Chinese restaurant in Morimachi for lunch, I came across a sweets shop that caught the eye of my friend who loves sweet treats. We passed by initially but decided to turn back in the car to find it. The shop was small with a limited selection, but what caught my eye was the Mont Blanc cake, which is in season. I decided to try it instead of the cheesecake. It was really delicious! I'm sure the other sweets in the shop are also tasty. Morimachi is surprisingly charming.

I visited a Western confectionery shop that I found while searching for a dessert after a meal. They had a variety of classic cakes like shortcake and cheesecake at affordable prices. I was planning to get some baked goods to eat in the car, but my companion insisted on getting a Mont Blanc cake. According to my companion, it was a traditional Mont Blanc with slightly dry sponge cake, old-fashioned buttercream, and Mont Blanc cream. My companion, who is a fan of Mont Blanc, also got a Madeline cake, which brought back childhood memories. It was simple and delicious. We also tried the Croquant, a thick soft cookie topped with Florentine and coated with chocolate. All the treats had a comforting taste that reminded me of a local Western confectionery shop in town. It was a delightful experience at "Leon Kimura" shop. Thank you for the delicious treats!

At another cake shop in the forest, I visited the nostalgic Lion Kimura family. The cakes on display were all large and reasonably priced, making it hard to choose. I decided on one with buttercream. There was a mille-feuille with buttercream and a chocolate cake with the shop's name on it. The mocha cake was moist beyond belief and delicious. I also purchased three types of baked goods made in the shop, all made with simple ingredients. It's a pretty good shop.
