When heading from Kitami towards the Onneyu area, I searched on "Tabelog" to find a nice restaurant and came across this place. I visited around 10:20 am on a Saturday. The restaurant is located south of JR Kitami Station, a little west off Route 261. It's on the north side of Lawson Kitami Jōbancho store. You can spot it by the numerous flags outside. The restaurant is on the ground floor of a slightly worn-out two-story apartment building. The entrance has a small bench under the eaves. There are a few parking spaces in front of the apartment. The interior is cozy with a wooden feel. The friendly owner manages the place alone. The showcase displayed around 12 types of donuts and 8 types of steamed buns, all with an appealing visual. They also sell soft-serve ice cream. The prices are quite reasonable. I ended up buying the "Almond Chocolate Donut" for 160 yen, "Cinnamon Donut" for 130 yen, "Brown Sugar Steamed Bun" for 230 yen, and "Sweet Potato Amazura Steamed Bun" for 230 yen (all including tax). They were served in cute bags with toothpicks. I enjoyed them later at a friend's place around 10 pm. The two types of donuts were about 4 bites each, made of cake (baking powder) dough with a fine texture and a good melt-in-the-mouth feel. They were not too sweet or greasy, more of a simple taste. Both the "Almond Chocolate" with chocolate and diced almonds on top, and the simple "Cinnamon" were good. They paired well with cold milk. The two steamed buns were about 6-7 bites each, quite filling. The dough was moist and chewy, with a gentle sweetness. I particularly liked the rich flavor of the "Brown Sugar" one. The "Sweet Potato Amazura" with sweet potato texture was also good. They went well with hot roasted tea. I'm curious about trying other donuts and steamed buns. Although it's not a place I can easily visit, I would like to go back if I have the chance.

I usually pass by this Lawson store next to it, but I didn't realize it was actually on the first floor of a normal Showa-style apartment building. However, I felt relieved to see that it was a proper store. Normally, donuts from big bakeries are too greasy and overly sweet, but these seemed to be made in a healthier way. It's summer and hot, so I might go back to try their soft serve ice cream next time.

There are about 10 types of donuts, each priced from 100 to 150 yen. The owner mentioned that they have reduced the oiliness compared to regular donuts. There are 5-6 types of steamed bread, including large ones and cup-sized ones. The owner was very friendly and explained the products kindly, leaving a good impression. I bought a cream and almond donut along with a cheese cup steamed bread that melts in your mouth, all for less than 500 yen. When I tried them at home, the donuts were indeed light and crispy, making it easy to eat as many as you want. The steamed bread had a subtle sweetness and a simple taste, reminiscent of the kind your mother would make. It was delicious. I'm not a fan of overly sweet or oily foods, so I usually don't like donuts, but these were easy to eat. The prices are reasonable, so I would definitely buy them again if I'm nearby.

The store was clean and had a nice atmosphere with vintage Coca-Cola memorabilia. The donuts were soft and delicious, with the cream-filled one not being entirely filled as I had expected. The steamed bun was heavy and reminded me of the ones my mother used to make, which I didn't like as a child, but this one was surprisingly tasty. Overall, it was a pleasant experience, and I might consider going back for more in the future.

I got this at the Hokkaido local products exhibition (^ー゜) There were cheese, banana, and red bean flavors available. I couldn't decide between cheese and red bean, but I chose red bean in the end! It's a refrigerated product, but the shelf life isn't very long. The expiration date was three days after purchase. I tried it as soon as I got home! I toasted it until crispy! It's a smooth donut with no sugar on the outside dough. Inside, there's a firm red bean paste. It's small in size. I finished it in two bites (^^;; One bite is enough though (*;´□`) But it was delicious~! Next time, I want to try the cheese flavor too!
