When it gets hot, the symptoms of my designated rare disease worsen, and unfortunately, there is still no medicine that suits my condition. I had to be hospitalized for treatment in April to May, following my stays in September and January last year. Your supportive comments were a source of strength for me during my hospitalization, and I am truly grateful for them. After receiving the second dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, I had to wait for two weeks before continuing my treatment. At my July appointment, it was decided that I would be hospitalized in August. Prime Minister Suga stated that vaccinations for individuals aged 65 and above would be completed by July this year, but Hokkaido has the lowest vaccination rates in the country for both the first and second doses. The Pfizer vaccine supply has been cut by 10% nationwide, with only 30% of the expected quantity arriving in Sapporo after mid-July. Despite delays, events like the Olympic marathon will be held in Sapporo. According to the news, it will be impossible to vaccinate the elderly in Sapporo by the end of July, with a 70% reduction in vaccine supply, the highest in the country. The reason for this drastic reduction remains unclear. In August 2021, I visited the renowned confectionery shop "Rokkatei," which was established in 1933 and is one of the representative sweet shops in Hokkaido. Originally a branch of Sapporo's Chishin-an, it was based in Obihiro, which is the birthplace of the brand. In 2015, they opened their "Sapporo Main Store" in their own building in Sapporo. Today, they have more stores in Sapporo than in their local Obihiro area, and when including the outskirts of Sapporo, the number of stores is overwhelmingly higher in Sapporo. It is no wonder that they have a store in Sapporo. I visited their location in Keita, Sapporo, inside the "Daiichi Keita Store" along Yōgaoka Street with my usual companion. The store was not crowded, with only one customer before and after us. I was delighted to see a product I hadn't seen in a while in the open cooler - the "Tokachi Marseille Butter." This butter is used in their original butter sandwich, and it is a household-friendly salted butter made from Tokachi Marseille Butter. It melts more easily than commercial butter and is made from 100% Tokachi milk. It is a clear and delicious butter that goes well with homemade sweets and buttered toast. The ingredients include only Tokachi milk and salt, and it costs 500 yen for 200g. The "Tokachi Marseille Butter" is an original butter from Rokkatei made from 100% Tokachi milk. It is more meltable and spreadable on bread than commercial butter. It is a high-quality butter used in products like the "Marseille Butter Sandwich." The only downside to this butter is that it significantly reduces my desire to eat commercial butter. (laughs) I believe that there are no disappointments in anything you buy from Rokkatei. I wonder what I should buy next time. Thank you for the delicious treat.
