Before I knew it, it was already past 2 o'clock, and I realized that there are not many places where you can have lunch at this time. Even if there was a place that served lunch, it would be an inconvenient time. So, as usual, I ended up buying a bento box. On this day, while driving around wondering what to do, I noticed a sign that said "Honmaguro" (bluefin tuna). Although I had known about this place for a few years now, I decided to stop by. I quickly parked my car next to the store, went inside, and saw display cases on both sides, a cash register counter in front, and the kitchen/office area behind it. The takeout menu was displayed on the wall and the cash register counter, with laminated A4-sized sheets showing one type of dish per sheet. I couldn't resist ordering the signature dish, the "Natural Bluefin Tuna Bowl (980 yen)." The staff quickly prepared the dish by putting rice in a bowl, placing slices of tuna on top, adding shiso leaves, cutting the tuna, placing wasabi, arranging pickled ginger, and finally covering it with a lid before putting it in a paper bag for me to take home. I rushed back home, placed the bowl on the table, took a picture, and was delighted to see that miso soup was included. I like to mix wasabi with soy sauce and pour it over the seafood bowl before eating. It enhances the flavor for me. I decided to make some miso soup by boiling water. It had seaweed in it, which was a nice touch. Now, let's enjoy the Natural Bluefin Tuna Bowl. The deep red color of the tuna reminded me of a beautiful rose. I savored the richness and umami of the tuna, the combination of wasabi and soy sauce, and the harmony of flavors when eaten with rice. The vinegared rice complemented the tuna perfectly. It was a delicious and satisfying meal, and I look forward to trying the mixed tuna and salmon or ikura next time. Can't wait to go back!
