Before writing a review here, I revisited my experience in Takarai Town and remembered how much I enjoyed it. I felt a certain fondness for the curry made by the older gentleman there. This place is popular among young people, easy to park and enter. I always order the pork cutlet curry here. I couldn't help but compare it to the one in Takarai Town. The pork cutlet here was thinly sliced and fried to a crisp, with a slightly sweet and fatty meat. The curry also seemed spicier. I noticed that some locals come here just to buy curry for multiple servings, which I found interesting.

Visited the Nanakoshinohama branch after learning about its existence. No other customers were present. There is a parking lot next to the store that can accommodate about 7 cars. I ordered the Chicken Steak Curry. Just like the main branch, there were Fukujinzuke and red pickled ginger on the table. It arrived in about 5 minutes. Compared to the curry I had at the main branch a while ago, this one had a thicker consistency. I took a bite. It had a moderate spiciness followed by a kick of heat! Was it always this spicy? Has my tolerance for spiciness increased with age? But it's the perfect level of spice for me. The chicken steak soaked in the curry had a sweet flavor, making it pleasantly mild. Ordering this was the right choice. I finished it in no time. For hungry guys, I recommend going for the large portion because it's addictive. I prefer the atmosphere of the main branch.

The temperature rose and it was a slightly sweaty day... I really wanted to eat cold soba, but it seemed like everyone had the same idea... Every parking lot was full, and my stomach was growling at 2:30... I saw a sign for the original Koike, but when I went inside, it was sparkling clean and new. It seemed like a franchise store... Well, I was just grateful to find lunch at this point. I asked for a recommendation and was told to try the pork cutlet curry. The first bite tasted like a normal curry, but then a spicy kick hit me out of nowhere... It was so spicy that I wouldn't recommend it for kids... I don't usually sweat when eating curry, but my face was definitely sweating this time... It was a complex mix of flavors with a strong punch of spiciness. If they say this is the original taste since the founding of the restaurant, then I guess it must be. I'll have to try the original store to really know... Well, thanks for the meal.

Located facing Route 100, this restaurant has parking for 2 cars next to the store and 1 car parked sideways in front. Although they recently relocated, the access by car is not ideal. I ordered the large size curry (¥780) this time, as the regular size (¥670) was not enough last time. The curry has a traditional flavor, made by roasting flour with butter in an old-fashioned way. It has a smooth and low viscosity texture, with a sharp spiciness followed by umami. The ingredients almost melt into the curry. They steam the rice after it's cooked, which reduces stickiness and pairs well with the curry. You can choose from 3 toppings: tonkatsu, hamburger, or chicken steak. While adding toppings to curry may not be everyone's preference, it works well here. They serve it with fukujinzuke (pickled vegetables) and red pickled ginger for flavor variation. Alongside Rappy and Hasesto, this is one of the soul foods of Hakodate locals.

I felt that the curry was a little bit lighter compared to the other store. It is delicious.

I tried ordering from Koike-san's branch of the original store in Nanahama, and they offer delivery through Sansei Kyari. I had the pork cutlet curry, which was delicious with its thin and crispy cutlet paired with spicy curry.
