Several years ago, a few authentic hamburger restaurants have started to open in Asahikawa City. When I say not chain stores but authentic, I mean the kind of meaty, fast-food style burgers that you can find in Guam or the mainland USA. I knew about these places that opened a few years ago, but I hadn't had a chance to visit until now. The parking lot is right next to the restaurant, just a short walk from the 8th intersection on 1st street. It's located next to a hotel. I had written a review of the previous restaurant before, just sharing my thoughts, but I received some pretty nasty comments... Anyway, now it's a place called Jurassic Burger. The owner is definitely someone else, haha. By the way, there is a coin parking lot next door, but I don't think they have an agreement, so it's probably paid parking. When you enter, you'll see a row of kendamas. They are not the ones we used to play with, but more modern and stylish. There are also kendamas available for trying, but I couldn't do it well even though I used to be good at it... The restaurant has a camping theme. The chairs and tables are like those used for camping. There was even a tarp set up for some reason. It seems that camping has become popular lately, with people like Hiroshi and the Viking guy doing it, so it's part of the interior design. The menu mainly consists of burgers, and they are quite pricey. The cheapest regular burger is 900 yen, while the most expensive Jurassic Burger is 2180 yen. It's not something you can call fast food. By the way, when I had a burger in Guam, it seemed cheaper there. They also serve alcohol until 9 pm, so you can have a burger and a drink at night. I guess some people might drink during the day on a holiday. Since it's next to a hotel, it might be convenient for solo travelers staying there. The beers are probably served in bottles. It's like what you see in movies, people drinking Budweiser from a bottle. It's probably the style here too. Well, it's fitting for the camping theme. The most popular item is the Double Cheeseburger Set for 1780 yen. It's a hefty meal with one meat patty and one slice of cheese on each layer. In between the buns, there are tomatoes and lettuce. It's impossible to bite into it, so they put it in a bag for you to eat. They don't provide forks or knives, so you have to eat it like that. The staff told me to eat it in the bag, but it felt quite normal. It's a bit hard to eat because it's heavy. Sorry, I'm still chewing. The cheese and meat go well together, and the bacon is also delicious. Another popular item is the Cheese Bacon Burger Set for 1480 yen. It's visually impressive with two large bacon slices sticking out. I had a cola with my meal, of course! It would have been nice if they served American-sized cola. It's quite a sight to behold. The bacon is so big that you can't see the meat inside. There's probably cheese in there too. It's a satisfying meal just by looking at it.
