The mountain hut in Kobetsusawa, which you reach after passing through the tunnel, is a cafe and restaurant. They use ingredients like vegetables, root vegetables, and wheat sourced from their own farm and nearby areas, providing safe and local food. You can enjoy tea made from houjiki nuts and syrup from Itaya maple. It's an authentic rural living experience.

"Why can I hear the whistle so far away♪" Nowadays, I think it's better to Google it rather than ask someone. After passing through the tunnel of Kobetsuzawa, which was considered a difficult point, I turned the corner and went up the road immediately, but at first, I couldn't find the restaurant. As I continued slowly, I discovered it! This place may not be known to many Sapporo residents... The mobile phone signal barely reaches here (^_^;) When I entered the shop, which looked like a mountain hut blending naturally, there was an old-fashioned stove. There was also a wood stove in the back, but it didn't seem to be in use. Maybe it will be used when it gets colder. And although I didn't see any goats, I ate goat cheese and there was a girl like Heidi from the Alps. It was so heartwarming♪ * Personal impression. I chose the open sandwich (with soup) and selected goat's fresh cheese and vegetables. The kale soup, which I thought would have a wild taste, surprisingly had a mild and gentle flavor without much of a distinctive taste. The plentifully chopped kale was healthy. The soup had a good taste with what seemed to be homemade sausage, making me feel like I was having lunch here while camping or hiking. Since the soup alone lacked color, the pickles that came with it, seeming homemade, had a refreshing acidity and were delicious. The rye bread made with goat milk yeast was a rustic and slightly dry type, but as I chewed, it had a deep flavor and a good aroma, blending well with the olive flavor. It seemed to have the taste of the vast earth. The goat cheese on top of this rye bread had a unique flavor, which was milder than the goat cheese I had imagined. It had a creamy texture, a moderate acidity, and a taste that I found appealing. With the fresh milk flavor and the distinctive goat cheese flavor, there was a refreshing acidity and a saltiness that would go well with wine. It was similar to cottage cheese, feeling like a cream cheese, and it matched quite well with the bread here. The fresh vegetables on top of the bread were fresh, and the figs also went well with the bread. This time at Yagiya, I couldn't relax much, so I left with the intention of coming back next time to have a drink here. "Why is that car waiting for me♪" I got into the car and descended into the city. Overall 4.0 Taste 3.6 Service 3.5 Atmosphere 4.4 Cost performance 3.3 Drink - Address Kobetsuzawa 33, Nishi-ku, Sapporo, Hokkaido Yagiya ☆☆☆ Next Episode Preview ☆☆☆ I want to come back to eat the food that exudes energy in its simplicity and makes me want to come back again, but personally, I am very curious about what it will be like in winter. Yagiya is a shop that you feel like visiting every season. It's a bit of a unique place, so tastes may vary, but I love it. Recently, it was featured in a local walking guide, so it seems like there are a lot of new customers. The lunch is casual and nice, but the real recommendation is the dinner. Dinner is only available on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays by reservation only. It's a set menu for 4000 yen. You can enjoy homemade seasonal vegetables, traceable meat dishes, and homemade cheese. It may be inconvenient without a car, but definitely leave your car and enjoy with wine! It's about 1600 yen by taxi from Maruyama Koen Station. From Sapporo Station, it's around 2800 yen, and from Odori, it's a little over 2000 yen. You can call a taxi for the return trip. During lunchtime, you can see goats, rabbits, etc., so it might be fun for families. But for dinner, I recommend going in a more luxurious adult atmosphere. The homemade rye bread is delicious, and if you're lucky, you can buy some to take home. I can't say it too loudly, but you can bring your own wine. However, don't expect wine glasses. This is a bit disappointing. Remember to take your empty bottles home. ---- I went there again this year. Yagiya's dinner. I had been bragging to my friends from Kansai who I took for tea once about how wonderful Yagiya's dinner is, so the third time's a charm and it finally happened. This time was a private reservation, and they were completely satisfied. It was really wonderful. I highly recommend it, but this is a special place, so go with a humble attitude to enjoy the meal. I don't want people who nitpick about service to go. Only those who can appreciate the bounty of the earth and enjoy a meal with gratitude should go. To really understand what kind of place it is, I recommend going for tea or lunch first, not straight to dinner. ---- I went for lunch after a long time. I brought my friend and their child who are visiting from Yokohama. The child was thrilled to see the animals. My friend was thrilled with the delicious food. We arrived around 11:30 on Sunday, and they quickly wrote out the menu for us. I had an open sandwich with marinated trout that I had never seen before. My friend had homemade frankfurters. Today's soup was cabbage soup. It had a gentle taste. The marinated trout looked a bit lonely, but when I ate it, it was full of flavor and delicious. The balance of acidity was to my liking (a little sour), and I was very satisfied. I should have asked for some cheese on the side for about 100 yen. The edible ground cherry that came with my friend's frankfurter. It was my first time trying it, but it was sweet, crispy, and delicious. The coffee was a bit pricey at 400 yen, but it also had a satisfying taste, so it was a very satisfying lunch. ---- My friend from Nagano came to visit, so without hesitation, I made a dinner reservation. If it hadn't been raining, I would have taken the lift up to Okurayama and hiked down to Yagiya, but unfortunately, the weather didn't cooperate. So I brought a bottle of carbonated water in the car. The appetizers were edamame, artichoke, green peas and shrimp jelly, and sausages. It was only my second time trying artichoke. It was more about enjoying the season rather than being delicious. The asparagus and goat cheese gratin had smoked salmon as a very nice accent. This was really delicious. The cod croquette was unlike anything I had tried before. It was made fluffy by combining egg white with princess cod, and the coriander gave it a nice aroma. Finally, the cabbage roll. It was light with tomato acidity and milk soup. The sage in the meat inside added a nice flavor. I always struggle to finish Yagiya's dinner, but today I thought I could finish it! Just as I thought that, my satiety center suddenly hit the limit. Half of the cabbage roll to go~. They put it in an empty bottle for me. The dessert pudding had a caramel flavor and was delicious. I even had coffee, and my stomach was about to burst. My friend was also ===========

"I love the restaurant 'Yagiya'. My first visit was in 2008 or 2009. I have never visited for dinner, which requires advance reservations, but I often go for lunch. To get there, you climb a steep hill that looks like a dead-end from Miyanomori in Chuo-ku, Sapporo, then turn left onto a narrow path just after passing the Kobetsusawa Tunnel. It's also okay to go from the left leg street in Nishi-ku, Sapporo towards the Kobetsusawa Tunnel. Either way, it feels like entering a hidden place. There are even goats there (laughs). Now, 'Yagiya' should not be considered just an ordinary restaurant. In a regular restaurant, you can think in a simple way: 'pay money' -> 'get served food'. However, in the case of 'Yagiya', it's more like 'share the blessings of the earth' -> 'offer a donation'. For example, the soup. The last time I visited, there were many customers, so the vegetable soup was full of actual vegetables, making me feel like I could make it at home. However, the original taste of 'Yagiya's soup is something that cannot be replicated even in famous restaurants. It's a cream-colored soup with a hint of orange, with a slight accent of vegetables. This could be green beans sometimes or mushrooms other times, depending on the season. And the taste of this soup is amazing. If you prefer strong flavors, this soup may seem lacking. It doesn't have any dashi or saltiness that you might expect. However, this soup is made from pesticide-free, home-grown freshly picked vegetables, and it's meant to be enjoyed for the pure taste of water and vegetables. They use underground water from Sapporo's mountain range, grate their own carrots and onions, and add a subtle saltiness. A rare dish where you can purely enjoy the taste of water and vegetables. By the way, if you're lucky, you may also be given homemade bacon or honey. It's all about luck. After all, it's a 'blessing from heaven' (laughs). Both the bacon and honey were the best I've ever had. For example, the herring marinade they served in the spring of this year (2011) was also the best herring marinade I've ever had in my life. Desserts vary each time you visit, so it's always exciting. Some memorable ones for me were basil sorbet with tomato compote, chocolate cake, and cake sacre, etc. The lunch dishes are mostly set menus, consisting of an open sandwich with homemade cheese or marinade, soup, or a single dish with bread and soup. The bread is slightly sour homemade bread (there's a baking kiln at the back of the shop). The jams are also homemade. The butter, I'm not sure if it's homemade, but it's delicious too. The set menu prices are around 1000 yen, and even with dessert and coffee, you can get away with around 1500 yen. However, since it's an unknown restaurant, the first visit is sure to be exciting (laughs). [Last visit 2011/8/13]"

I went there at the beginning of autumn. It was one of the shops on my list that I was curious about, but I didn't have the confidence to find it myself, so I went to lunch with a friend driving. Even though we relied on the navigation system, we ended up passing it once and had to turn back to finally arrive at the place near the Kobetsu-sawa Tunnel. If I were alone, I would definitely have gotten lost. It's located in a place that makes you wonder, "Wait, is this really in Sapporo?" It's like a hidden gem of a shop. The lunch menu consists of three types of open sandwiches sets and the "Assorted Sausage and Vegetables" that we ordered for 1,200 yen with soup and bread. The soup contained vegetables from their own garden and had a gentle flavor. The bread is made from 100% whole wheat flour and goat milk yeast, baked in a wood-fired oven. It had a simple taste and I really liked that type of bread. The sausage was a homemade Frankfurter sausage with plenty of herbs, with a firm texture and delicious taste. There is also a reading space, so it seems like a nice place to relax and forget about time in a natural environment. As the name suggests, there were also goats there. The baby goats were cute, but I was surprised by the size of the adult goats. They were powerful and a little intimidating. I would like to try the goat cheese next time. Dinner seems to be by reservation only.

Goat Cheese at Yagiya! Click to enlarge! It's been a while since the last Meguri Machi communication. This time, I want to introduce a hidden restaurant that I love so much, but at the same time, I don't want to spread the word too much. As you climb the mountain, passing by the Sapporo Moiwa Mountain Okurayama Ski Jump Stadium, you will reach the Kobetsu Sawatunnel. Just after the tunnel, on the left, there is a small road that leads up to the Old Kobetsu Sawatunnel. Standing next to it is Yagiya. The atmosphere is more like "welcome" than a regular restaurant. For lunch, you can enjoy various types of open sandwiches. Mainly using goat cheese and homemade bread, along with gentle dishes made with vegetables from the backyard. The cheese has a rich and distinctive taste, and once you come here, you'll want to eat it again. Personally, I like to share a meat (ham, for example) sandwich with a goat cheese sandwich when I go with someone. The open sandwich comes with soup, which is made with seasonal vegetables and has a rich flavor despite being light in salt. Even vegetables that I usually don't like, I can easily eat here. Even on hot summer days, it was cool at the top of the mountain. On this particularly hot day, I even had dessert. It was a basil granita and cold tomato compote. What a vegetable dessert! It was so refreshing and delicious. When I got home, I immediately tried to recreate the recipe and enjoyed it. As the name Yagiya suggests, there are goats leisurely grazing here. Despite being livestock, these are mountain goats. They look perfect standing in the steep grassy slopes of Kobetsu. There are also many rabbits, chickens, cats, and vegetables here. If you enjoy going out by car, why not take a little detour and visit Yagiya? I took a break during Golden Week and went on a trip. Where did I go? Just to Tokyo. I came back feeling a bit tired. Is it travel fatigue or city fatigue? I'm recovering at this place below: A cafe in Nishi-ku where goats are kept. The owner practices self-sufficiency by using goat milk to make homemade cheese and bread, as well as harvesting crops from the garden for lunch and weekend dinners by reservation only. The location is up the road where it diverges from Okurayama Schanze, through the Kobetsu-sawa tunnel, and further up. Upon opening the door, a nostalgic smell tickles the nose. The high ceilings and gently lit interior create a relaxing atmosphere where you can forget about everyday life. The menu includes drinks, open sandwiches with several options (served with soup, on this day it was azuki greens soup), as well as desserts and take-out bread and jam. I ordered the smoked pork and omelette open sandwich for 900 yen and tea for 300 yen. My friend had the goat cheese and fresh vegetable open sandwich with coffee. The goat milk fermented bread was dense and had a strong flavor with a hint of acidity. The goat cheese was surprisingly easy to eat with a rich flavor. The homemade smoked meat had a wonderful aroma and a straightforward taste. The organic tea was smooth and easy to drink. It was a simple yet luxurious meal. Thank you for the feast.

This place is amazing! The journey to get here, the exterior of the restaurant, and the surrounding scenery all come together to create a fantastic atmosphere. Located near the entrance of the former Obetsuzawa Tunnel, it may be easier to find coming from the Nishi Ward side. There is a mysterious road to the right about 20 meters before the Obetsuzawa Tunnel, follow it up about 200 meters and you will find the restaurant. There are no special signs, so it can be hard to spot. Surrounded by mountains and trees, this restaurant also serves as an architecture office. The area around the restaurant is covered in wood chips, creating a nice ambiance. On the day I visited, I was able to see squirrels climbing the trees. It's surprising to find such a place in the Chuo Ward. There are goats on the mountain, a treehouse, creating a dream-like space. The house itself has a warm feel, making it seem like a space where forest girls would live. Inside the restaurant, they sell bread, offer lunch during lunchtime, and of course, you can just enjoy a coffee. If you talk to the lady at the shop, she will tell you all about how the shop was established, the architecture, and agriculture. They make cheese from goat's milk, ham, bread, all of which are delicious. However, the cheese has a unique taste, so it may be hit or miss for some people. Outside the shop, there are rabbits, goats making noise, and even chickens. It's a place that truly embodies self-sufficiency. Amazing.

On the south side of the Kobetsu Sawa Tunnel, there is a shop surrounded by the forest where you can enjoy animals, nature, and delicious food. The shop has a cozy atmosphere like a cabin from a picture book, with a rustic feel of tin and wood. The sunlight filtering through the trees casts gentle shadows on the tin roof. The interior of the shop, converted from an old farmhouse, has a large table and two four-person tables, with a bookshelf and reading area in the back right corner. The left side by the window is open, creating a sense of spaciousness, with BOSE speakers installed at the top playing Celtic music. For lunch, they offer only open sandwiches, and the soup seemed a bit salty, but the sandwich was delicious with a generous amount of fillings. The aroma of rye bread spreads with each bite, although the portion might be a bit small for big eaters like me. The cute animals outside create a peaceful atmosphere, and I look forward to visiting this shop again, where the sound of fiddles and animal noises blend harmoniously.

Located near the border between Kobetsusawa in Nishi Ward and Miyanomori in Chuo Ward, right next to the Kobetsusawa Tunnel on the Nishi Ward side, is a super natural cafe. The Kobetsusawa Tunnel is famous for various reasons, but after the new tunnel was built, it was very well maintained and changed the previous image. This cafe mainly operates agricultural and livestock classes, and opens the cafe as a place to provide freshly harvested vegetables and goat cheese through the classes. The menu features a "Today's" section, so the ingredients are generally different every day, showcasing the delicious items available at the time. [Today's Order] - Open Sandwich & Soup with (Select from 5 ingredients) - "Pork Smoke, Plain Omelette, Fresh Vegetables" (1,000 yen) - "Baked Goat Cheese, Salad" (900 yen) [Highly Recommended Dish] "Baked Goat Cheese, Salad" The large goat cheese is very charming. Goat cheese has a unique flavor compared to regular cow's milk cheese, but baking it in the oven concentrates the aroma and richness inside the cheese, making it quite addictive. The bread for the sandwich is rye, with a distinctive hard texture that pairs well with the rich cheese, and the portion size is also generous.

Today, after work, I had a late lunch at a place a bit off the beaten path. The navigation led me to a remote location in the mountains, but I arrived safely! I wouldn't dare go if there was snow! There was a sign on the door saying "Yagiya is a members-only establishment." But I was able to enter without any issues! Inside the restaurant, there was a large table and two smaller tables for four people each. The wood stove added a cozy atmosphere to the place. The lunch menu looked like this. I finally decided to order the Goat Cheese Blanc with Fresh Vegetables for ¥800. The soup had a gentle flavor that brought out the goodness of the vegetables. The bread was made from 100% local whole wheat flour, fermented with goat milk yeast, and baked in a wood-fired oven! It was topped with their homemade incredibly rich cheese. The shockingly pink dish was a potato salad with beet marinated in it, giving it a hint of acidity. The color came from the beets, with no artificial coloring! I had a relaxing time enjoying this gentle meal, but unfortunately, it started snowing, so I couldn't stay longer. There were goats and llamas on the premises, but the muddy path from the car to the restaurant prevented me from seeing them this time. I'd love to visit again during the lush green and warm season! Thank you as always! If you like, please click to support! Last updated on November 8, 2008, at 10:00 PM. This is a slow food cafe that specializes in bread made with goat milk yeast baked in a wood-fired kiln. Other ingredients include goat milk cheese, homemade eggs, homemade meat, and homemade vegetables. The cafe is open until dusk. I found out the details through a review on Tabelog, but my friend who loves off-the-beaten-path places had already been there. It's amazing how wide the antenna is for those who love remote areas (laughs). An agricultural NPO also operates here. The menu states that "Yagoya is a members-only club," but there was no requirement for membership registration. To get there, drive towards the Bankei area from Miyanomori, then turn left just after exiting the Kobetsu-sawa Tunnel and take the road towards the old Kobetsu-sawa Tunnel. Yagoya is located just before the old tunnel. The cafe looked small from the entrance side compared to the impression from the photos. It is vertically long, so it feels spacious inside. The grounds where various animals are kept also felt expansive towards the back. There are baby goats next to the cafe. There are also dogs, cats, llamas, chickens, and more, so we were shown around leisurely after finishing our meal. The menu changes depending on the season or day, as many items are homemade. For my first visit, I ordered an open sandwich made with goat milk yeast bread. The bread is made from 100% Hokkaido wheat. It was firm and had a nice sourness, which I liked. I chose the "Smoked Pork Plen Omelette with Fresh Vegetables" filling with soup for 900 yen. The homemade eggs were so fresh! The smoked pork had a chewy texture and good bite. The simple vegetable soup served at the beginning was made with really good vegetables, and I was satisfied. My friend ordered the homemade sausage with sliced bread (with soup) for 1200 yen. I think I prefer the sausage over the smoked pork. The pesticide-free coffee I ordered came with goat milk. The goat milk is only available from spring to autumn. It was my first time trying it, and it surprisingly had no strong taste and was delicious. I was surprised to find such a rustic cafe just a short drive from Sapporo city. The place was quite crowded for lunch on weekends, so making a reservation might be a good idea. Next time, I will bring my animal-loving friend for tea! I definitely want to try the goat milk cheese too (^_^)b

I was finally able to visit "Yagiya," which was introduced in "Sapporo O-sanpo Biyori." From the road that leads from Maruyama to Bankkei, passing through a narrow residential street and climbing a mountain path, you will come across the Kobetsu-sawa Tunnel. Just after exiting that tunnel, there is a small path on the left that leads to Yagiya. At first, I didn't notice that small path and ended up going quite far in the direction of Fukui. Eventually, I called the restaurant for directions and was able to reach it safely. Yagiya is truly a house in the mountains, with nothing around it. What an amazing location! It's unbelievable that such a quiet place exists just across a residential area in Chuo Ward and a mountain. The restaurant has a rustic feel, with baby goats on the slope to the left. I later realized that they were tied to a rope. Inside the shop, a woman welcomed me. She was the one I spoke to on the phone earlier. Dining alone? Please follow me. Since there were no other customers, I was seated at a round table. There was a handwritten menu on the table. After some contemplation, I ordered the "Stuffed Intestines and Seasonal Vegetables (1200 yen)." I wanted to try the ham steak that was featured in Sapporo O-sanpo Biyori, but it wasn't on the menu, which was disappointing. I should have asked about it. There was a stove inside the shop, so I took a photo of it. Although I didn't take a photo, there was an observation deck on top of the hill visible from the window, resembling a fort I made as a child. It caught my interest, but I thought it might break if I climbed on it, so I didn't ask the staff about it. The atmosphere inside the shop was relaxed with background music playing. However, since I was the only one there, it felt a bit unsettling. First, I was served vegetable soup. I didn't ask what vegetables were in it, but it had a light and healthy taste. I should have asked about the types of vegetables. Next, I was served bread with homemade jam, which had a slightly tangy flavor and was delicious. The butter was goat butter, also homemade. The main dish was a generous portion of vegetables and homemade frankfurters. I'm not a fan of vegetables, but I managed to finish them. The sautéed potatoes seasoned with salt and pepper were particularly tasty. The homemade frankfurters were also delicious and filling. It would have been even better if they were a bit warmer. Since I was dining alone and running out of time, I left the restaurant after finishing my meal. Outside, I saw a male goat in a different spot from the baby goat at the beginning. It was difficult to find the right moment to take a photo, but I managed to capture one. It seemed a bit sad that the goat was tangled in the rope and tree. There were other animals around, but I didn't see them and headed back home. Given its location, I imagine it must be quite a sight in winter. It truly feels like a hidden gem in Sapporo!

<Location> Located in the mountains, it takes over an hour to walk on a mountain path from the nearest station. Most people use cars as it takes about 15 minutes uphill from Miyanomori bus stop. From Enzan to Bankei direction, after turning right at a signal and passing through the Kobetsusawa Tunnel, there is a paved road leading to the old Kobetsusawa Tunnel on the left. After a while, you will see the secluded restaurant featured in "Sapporo Hidden Gems 100 Selection II" on the right just before the old tunnel. <Store> The two-story farmhouse built in the Showa 20s serves as the base, with the first floor serving as a cafe space. Upon entering the store, you will find a large rectangular table for 8 people and two round tables for 4 people at the back. There is also a reading space with many books. You can see several large beams in the upper part of the store, giving a glimpse of how it was built at that time. In the building at the back of the store, you can also see the animals being raised here. In addition to dogs and cats, there are also black pigs, llamas, rabbits, and chickens. The most numerous are the goats, with about 10 of them being raised in a large pasture, and you can hear the goats' cries throughout your stay. There is also a treehouse to cross the handmade suspension bridge in the pasture. The swinging suspension bridge on the left and right is more thrilling than you might think, so if you have time, I recommend giving it a try. However, as there are mosquitoes in the upcoming season, insect repellent spray may come in handy. <Cuisine> I ordered the Goat Cheese Pudding (with soup) made with goat's milk cheese raised here for 500 yen. The vegetable soup with turnips and broccoli that came out first had a light salt-based seasoning to preserve the flavor of the ingredients. The cheese in the pudding has a unique flavor of goats that cheese lovers might want to try. Of course, it is hot when freshly made, so be careful. From pesticide-free tea for 300 yen to oven sandwiches for 900 yen, the reasonable prices at which you can eat are also attractive, and dinner is available by reservation at night. <Service> The recommended items at this store are dishes using "goat" cheese, which is also the name of the store, and original menus using natural ingredients such as homemade yeast bread baked in the basket placed at the entrance. All handmade items are naturally imbued with a gentle flavor that is kind to the body. The location also offers a natural landscape that can heal the mind, away from the hustle and bustle of the city, providing a relaxed time if you want to spend a little leisurely time. On a sunny holiday, taking your family out may be popular with children as they can experience the treehouse and meet animals. <Next Visit Plan> I want to go back to eat the open sandwich.

Once you turn left after coming out of the tunnel, there is a shop. The owner opened the shop 9 years ago in the area where they have been living for a long time. When I visited around 2 PM, there were no customers. They had sold out of desserts and cookies, so I ordered a herbal tea. The herbs were freshly grown in the backyard of the shop, including mint and sage. The view from the window of the sky and greenery, the atmosphere inside with books and furniture, and the subtle background music from the BOSE system all created a soothing feeling. There are various types of cafes like stylish cafes, Nordic cafes, and traditional tea houses, but this cafe made me feel the passage of time in a slow and relaxing way. They also serve dinner at night, so I definitely want to visit again. The owner's sense of style is evident in the dishes, music, and other details. Note: If you are not comfortable with cute insects or nature, this cafe may not be recommended for you.

When you pass through the "Kobetsuzawa Tunnel" in the snow, you might feel like you've entered a world of Japanese folk tales or deep in the snowy mountains. It's a place that feels like a rural village from the pioneering days, which is quite unusual for Sapporo. Despite being in Chuo-ku, it's a place where you might see people wearing old-fashioned clothing and even goats roaming around. In the winter, the smell of wood stoves fills the air, and you'll find handmade furniture and a cozy atmosphere with patchwork decorations. While it may not offer luxurious or fancy items, it has a unique charm that is different from the city life in Chuo-ku. The area beyond the tunnel is like a countryside with a nostalgic feel, filled with the scent of wood and agricultural tools. It may not be known for delicious food, but it has a Fujiko Hemingu-like atmosphere and a mini zoo that is perfect for families with children. If you are a nature lover or into a biodynamic lifestyle, this place might be worth a visit. And don't forget, when you exit the tunnel, turn left immediately at a 60-degree angle, as it's easy to miss the turn. Enjoy your visit!

When we approached, a curious young goat came up to us and peeked out the window, saying "Meh, meh." Its charming bleating had not yet reached the level of a sheep's, tickling our hearts. It seemed to be wondering what we were up to, if we had something for it, or if we wanted to play. With its restless little eyes moving around, it observed us. This was at Okurayama "Yagoya." We were about to taste the milk you had been drinking until yesterday. Due to human convenience, we turned it into cheese, which was surely delicious. It had a refreshing taste, disappearing smoothly the moment it touched our tongues. Only leaving a quiet, sweet flavor behind, it slowly faded away. The purity of life's clarity seeped into our cells, bubbling up and calming our hearts naturally. That was the experience given by the Chevre.
