Lunchtime in Niikappu Town. I didn't have much time, so I stopped by this place on the way. Is it a franchise? There are other stores with the same name here and there. It wasn't full, but it was quite busy. I ordered the first item on the menu, miso ramen, as part of the lunch set B. The B set comes with half fried rice for 770 yen plus 260 yen. It took a little while for the food to be served. The miso ramen came with wood ear mushrooms, bamboo shoots, green onions, and a slice of char siu. The soup had a slightly generous amount of lard with a moderate level of miso flavor. It was delicious. The noodles were a bit soft. The char siu had a good texture and was tender. The fried rice was on the dry side and had a nice flavor. The portion size was a bit small, but it was also tasty. The total cost was slightly above 1000 yen, so the cost performance was okay. It's one of the options for lunchtime in Niikappu Town. Next time, I might try the curry ramen with rice.

During a trip, I had lunch at the Road Station Sarabred Road Shin-Kaneto, but there was nothing appealing on the restaurant menu! In Hokkaido, I really wanted to eat proper ramen! I searched online and found a ramen shop nearby! Looking across the street, I saw a yellow tent! Inside the shop, there were counter seats, table seats, and even a raised tatami area, so it was surprisingly spacious! The master and staff had a great atmosphere, and I felt good too! When I looked at the menu, I saw the words "Hokkaido Governor's Award-winning Kura Miso"! And there was a limited-time Gyozaniniku?! When I asked the master for soup recommendations, he suggested miso or soy sauce! I placed my order: Gyozaniniku Ramen Miso with Gyoza set. Choosing miso soup was definitely the right decision! It had a great aroma, perfect saltiness, a hint of sweetness, and matched well with the curly noodles! The chashu was tender, with just the right seasoning, it practically melted in my mouth! The Gyozaniniku were long and there were several of them, crunchy with a hint of garlic aroma, it really perked me up! The gyoza were small but crispy on the outside, and the filling was delicious! The ramen was just so tasty that I finished every drop of the soup! There were condiments like chili pepper and grated garlic on the table! Thank you for the meal!

I stopped by Hamaryu on my way to Erimo to participate in the stamp rally. I wanted to go to Kichiichiro, but they were closed. I ordered Negi Ramen with soy sauce, while my partner got the reliable Chashu Ramen with an added side of fried rice. The soy sauce had a seafood flavor and was slightly sweet, more like a savory umami dashi ramen. The noodles were thick and slightly soft, but delicious. The fried rice was a perfect balance of fluffy and moist. It felt like a local Chinese restaurant. Thank you for the meal!

I ordered the Soy Sauce Ramen Set. While Boryu is known for its highly rated miso ramen, my personal favorite is soy sauce, so I chose that. However, in hindsight, since I don't visit Shinrin often, I thought maybe I should have gone with miso. Oh well, too late now.

The customer service was excellent and energetic. The staff worked efficiently and it was refreshing to see. I ordered the miso ramen with garlic, which was delicious. I usually only make garlic soy sauce, so it was interesting to see how well it paired with miso ramen. The chashu was also very tasty, with a melt-in-your-mouth texture. It would be even better if they offered extra chashu as a topping!

Boryu-san always passed by but never stopped by before! This time, my companion insisted on coming here, so we decided to enter immediately. The parking lot is right in front of the shop and also next door, which may seem a bit far. The atmosphere here is different from the Urakawa store of the same Boryu-san. This time, I had the Spicy Ramen + Half Fried Rice Set for lunch. During lunchtime, for an additional 260 yen, you can add half fried rice to your ramen. I was torn between choosing gyoza or this, but since I have work in the afternoon, I decided on this one that won't make me smell like garlic (laughs). The thick curly noodles were to my liking, and I must say that Boryu-san's taste is quite good. Personally, I feel like it's more delicious than the Urakawa store. The Spicy Ramen was truly "spicy," but not overly so, just the right level of spiciness that I liked. It was delicious. The half fried rice was fluffy, with a taste that really felt like "ramen shop fried rice." The portion was just right, not too much. They also have the option of half ramen, but it seems that you cannot have the half fried rice as a set with that. It seems that the half fried rice is only available as a set with the "ramen" specifically. It's quite a difficult place to visit, being in a somewhat remote location for a ramen shop, but they did a good job. Thank you for the meal!

The last topic of the trip to Hidaka is about dining out. I visited Ramen Horyu in Shintomamu. Ramen Horyu is a franchise that mainly operates in Hokkaido. Even though the taste may vary slightly at different franchises, I have always liked the taste of Horyu. It is a delicious restaurant that can be considered as Hokkaido ramen. During the trip to Hidaka, there were many Horyu stores along the national highway. Due to time constraints, I visited the Shintomamu store, and it was very crowded, probably because of Golden Week. I had to wait for about 30 minutes after ordering. Looking at the menu, I decided to go for the miso ramen, which uses the award-winning miso from Hokkaido Governor. The miso ramen cost 730 yen. Although the chashu was a bit small, I was very satisfied with the rich soup and the combination with the noodles. I would rate it 4 stars and would definitely want to eat it again. Ramen Horyu Shintomamu Store is located at 2-14 Kitahoshimachi, Shimukappu-cho, Shimukappu-gun, Hokkaido. Telephone: 0146-47-3730. Business hours are from 11:00 to 20:00, closed on Wednesdays (or the following day if Wednesday is a public holiday).

This is a ramen restaurant located along National Route 235 that runs through Niikappu Town. It is a chain restaurant, but the taste varies slightly from store to store, which adds to the excitement. The chashu at this Boryu restaurant is delicious. Personally, I don't like chashu with a lot of fat, but the chashu produced by Boryu here has an exquisite balance of lean and fatty meat, and the seasoning is light, which I like. In addition to bean sprouts, I also like that they top it with wood ear mushrooms. The seasoned bamboo shoots have a peppery aroma and are finished with a fragrant taste. The soup is, as expected, Boryu's seasoning, but it is reassuringly good. If I get hungry around Niikappu again, I would like to stop by.

The restaurant is located along the national highway in Niikappu Town, across from the Michi-no-Eki (roadside station). Along this national highway from Tomakomai City to Erimo Town, there are many stores of the Horyu chain, but this store is my first visit. The familiar yellow facade stands out, making it easy to spot even for first-time visitors. There is a spacious parking space in front of the store and a little further away, making it convenient to use. Inside the store, there are counter seats, table seats, and raised tatami seating, but it is not very spacious. I visited during dinner time, and there were quite a few local families as customers. I ordered the classic "Miso Ramen (730 yen)" and "Half Fried Rice (350 yen)". There were also unique items on the menu such as "Manly Miso Ramen" and "Gyoza Garlic Ramen". The dishes arrived in about 8 minutes. The Miso Ramen had medium-thick curly noodles with bean sprouts, and the soup had a traditional Sapporo miso flavor with vegetable broth. The soup tastes the same as in any other Horyu store, so you can enjoy it with confidence. The Half Fried Rice had a strong salt and pepper seasoning, which made it slightly too salty for my taste. Recommended for those who like traditional Sapporo miso ramen.

I found this restaurant while touring around and decided to drop in. The staff seemed busy, with three people working in the kitchen and three in the dining area. They were even taking delivery orders! There were both counter seats and tatami seats, making the atmosphere lively. Despite the heat, I chose a spicy ramen. It's been six months since my visit, so I can't remember clearly, but I do recall that it was delicious. I would like to visit again when I'm in the area. The lively ambiance earns this place a slightly higher rating (lol). Thank you for the meal.

Sometimes, I crave the Han's Miso Ramen from the Takararyu Shinkan store in Shin-Kan. It's a miso ramen with plenty of garlic. It has lots of big wood ear mushrooms and bean sprouts, making it perfect when you have a cold. The flavor is quite strong, so it may not be suitable for those who prefer lighter tastes. It's just right when eaten with rice. I haven't tried other ramen there, but I will next time. The restaurant has both regular chairs and raised seating, making it family-friendly.

Shrouded in nostalgia, the ramen shop "Horyu" located in Shinonome Town along Route 235, across from the Michi-no-Eki, is a familiar name to the people of Hokkaido. The miso ramen here is a must-try, with a blend of vegetable-derived sweetness and miso-derived sweetness in a soup that is generously poured into the bowl. The noodles are slightly yellow curly noodles, and the stir-fried bean sprouts are somewhat scarce. The wood ear mushrooms have always been included, but the style of sprinkling a little pepper on the bamboo shoots is a recent trend at Horyu. The chashu is the traditional firm type. Overall, the Horyu Shinonome branch offers a reliable and well-crafted ramen experience. The slightly sweeter taste, perhaps due to a slightly higher miso ratio, may give off a slightly faded flavor, but there are definitely core fans who appreciate this "old-fashioned taste". Discovering the subtle differences in taste at each branch is also part of the enjoyment.

This is a ramen chain restaurant that can be found in various towns throughout the region. In Shikotancho, it is located right across from the "Le Record Kan" complex in the town center. Many eateries in the Shintone and Shikotan area are closed on Mondays, making this restaurant a valuable option as it remains open on Mondays. The noodles are yellow, thick, and curly in Hokkaido style, slightly firm when boiled, which may appeal to locals. The restaurant's specialty is miso ramen, made with award-winning Kura miso from Hokkaido. Be sure to try their signature miso ramen when you visit!
