Dining Room Akari @syokudou_akari, located a 3-minute walk from Kitashinchi Station, offers top-notch Japanese cuisine that impresses without being too formal. With a budget of around 8000 yen (ended up spending 13000 yen), I visited this restaurant based on the high praise from a trusted food critic on Tabelog. And I must say, the food easily surpassed my expectations and left me thoroughly satisfied. The dishes were all served in a way that allowed for easy sharing, hence the photos show smaller portions. Starting with the Tsuiyama Sekogani, the crab had a delightful texture and rich flavor, accompanied by a tangy jelly that was simply divine. The Sawara fry, recommended by many on Tabelog, was incredibly smooth and expertly cooked, making it hard to believe it was fish. Next, I tried the Taro and Scallop Potato Salad, which was a revelation with its sticky texture and sweet taste. The Amadai rice dish was cooked to perfection, with a subtle umami flavor that didn't overpower. From the Shirako to the sashimi and meat dishes, everything was delicious and faultless. The restaurant has a lively and casual atmosphere, with both counter and table seating. While it may not be the most tranquil setting for a meal, the relaxed vibe allows you to enjoy the incredible Japanese cuisine without any pretense. I would definitely love to visit again, as it was truly a fantastic dining experience.

I conquered the Umeda Dungeon and walked from the office at Grand Front to arrive! The locally brewed sake called Santou was so delicious, it moved me to tears. Every dish was also delicious, and I found the best restaurant. When you have a business trip to Osaka, make a reservation right away!

I was curious about this place and finally got to go there. Everything looked delicious and I was excited to try it all. I tried a variety of dishes! The staff were busy but still provided good service. Thank you! Honestly, the sashimi was just average. The deep-fried spring rolls with squid and the horse mackerel fry were delicious! I didn't take pictures of everything, but overall, the other dishes were just okay, although they were tasty!

I love Tohru-san so much! I have visited a few times already, and it's always popular, so I recommend making a reservation for an early time. The menu changes with the seasonal vegetables, so you won't get bored and there is a wide variety of a la carte dishes, so you can enjoy both meat and fish! When you go with two or more people, they serve each dish in small portions, so you don't have to worry about splitting them yourself, which is very convenient! It's a great value restaurant that you can go to for a date or to celebrate a friend's birthday!

This is a well-known Japanese restaurant located on the 2nd floor of a building in Kitashinchi. The name includes "shokudo" (dining hall) but it is not related to Ogawa in Kyoto. Inside, there is a stylish and sophisticated Japanese atmosphere, with an L-shaped counter seating around 10 people where you can watch the chefs cook. The menu is updated daily. I started with a draft beer, served in a thin and elegant glass. I ordered a sashimi platter, grilled tilefish, fried Spanish mackerel with tartar sauce, and conger eel and sansho pepper rice. The sashimi included Thai snapper, striped jack, and tuna, all delicately arranged and delicious. The grilled tilefish had a unique charcoal flavor and tender meat with a refined umami taste. The fried Spanish mackerel was crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, paired perfectly with homemade tartar sauce. The conger eel and sansho pepper rice, cooked in a clay pot, had a rich flavor from the chopped eel and the aroma of sansho pepper, with a delicious charred finish. I also tried Chiba's Kankiku and Miyagi's Hidamari cold sake during the meal, both of which were excellent. It was a truly delicious dining experience. Thank you for the meal.

The canteen lamp, located a 5-minute walk from Osaka JR Tozai Line Kitashinchi Station, was recommended to me as a delicious spot for gourmets. I finally tried it this time and had dishes such as shirako ponzu, grilled shirako with soy sauce, assorted sashimi, saury fry, and grilled black beef. After tasting them, I realized that every dish was extremely delicious! Particularly outstanding were the saury fry and grilled black beef. Both the meat and the fish were so delicious, it was amazing! I ended up overspending because I couldn't resist ordering more food and drinks, but my heart and stomach are completely satisfied. I definitely want to come back and try other dishes next time. Thank you for the wonderful meal!

Hidden gem in Kappo cuisine found in Kita-Shinchi! A place for casual dining, my recommendation is the rare fried Spanish mackerel. For gentlemen looking for stylish Japanese cuisine, this place is likely to impress the ladies, making it a great option for a date night. Kita-Shinchi may give off a high-end impression, but I found a Kappo restaurant suitable for everyday dining, serving their specialty, fried fish. Today's dish was Spanish mackerel, but they also offer horse mackerel depending on the season! I was pleasantly surprised by the exquisite taste of the sashimi, and the attention to detail in the plates and glasses, even allowing you to choose your favorite pattern for the sake cup. Located on the second floor, the cozy atmosphere of the restaurant gives off a hidden gem vibe. I recommend this place for those looking for a casual Kappo or Japanese cuisine restaurant for a date night. Enjoy! 🍷🍴 ---------- Restaurant Information Name: Shokudo Akari Location: 2F Jay Pride Kita-Shinchi 3rd Building, 1-6-27 Sonezaki Shinchi, Kita-ku, Osaka Nearest Station: 2-minute walk from Kita-Shinchi Station 🚶‍♀️ Business Hours: From 6:00 pm Closed on Sundays and holidays

It was delicious! This was my second visit. I had shirako, fried food, and rice. The atmosphere and taste were just to my liking, it was amazing. It's hard to find this kind of restaurant on my own. Japanese food is truly the best. I wish someone could recommend me more places like this.

Fried fresh fish is a must-try delicacy. On this day, I had Saury Rare Fry with homemade tartar sauce. The lightly fried fish was incredibly delicious. The Saury Miso Grilled dish was also tender and flavorful. The thick-cut Ham Cutlet was a high-quality dish with a crispy and juicy texture. This restaurant is truly amazing. They serve the dishes individually so there is no need to share, which is hygienic. The menu included a sashimi platter, mushroom and eggplant salad, surf clam and green onion salad, Saury Miso Grilled, and thick-cut Ham Cutlet with Saury Rare Fry and tartar sauce.

【Visit Date】Dinner on 8/12/2022 【Order】 - Taro and Scallop Potato Salad - Assorted Sashimi (Flounder, Mackerel, Seared Bonito) - Fried Horse Mackerel with Tartar Sauce - Unzen Ham - Thick Cut Ham Cutlet - Spicy Chicken Croquette - Tender Chicken Liver Ginger Simmered - Densuke Eel Charcoal Grilled - Abalone and Edamame Spring Rolls - Heartland 4 Beer - Daishinshu Kanku Sake Yesterday, after enjoying 4 games, I walked to Kitashinchi. I visited the Michelin Bib Gourmand restaurant called Shokudo Akari. I had made a reservation for 8:30 pm. Even though it was late, the restaurant was crowded. Since I was dining alone, they offered smaller portions, so I decided to try various dishes. The unique items like the potato salad and croquette were more interesting than the highly rated fried horse mackerel. It was disappointing that the only rice option was kamameshi. The bill came to about 11,000 yen. I may have had a bit too much to drink. Thank you for the meal.

I found a great izakaya with good value for money and delicious food in Kitashinchi. 【Restaurant Name】Shokudo Akari 【Nearest Station】Kitashinchi Station 【Location】2F Jay Pride Kitashinchi 3rd Building, 1-6-27 Sonezaki Shinchi, Kita-ku, Osaka, Osaka Prefecture 【Phone】06-6341-3791 I was recommended this restaurant as a delicious place to eat, and it exceeded my expectations. I had the following dishes: - Tomato from Yamanaka-san's house: Sweet and delicious. - Young sweetfish simmered in sansho pepper oil: Tender and flavorful. - Deep-fried spring rolls with white asparagus and truffle salt: Crispy outside, tender inside, and the truffle salt added a delicious flavor. - Charcoal-grilled black wagyu beef: Melts in your mouth with a rich flavor. - Charcoal-grilled sandfish with rice cooked in a pot topped with karasumi: The sound of sprinkling karasumi was irresistible, and the sandfish was flavorful. It takes 30 minutes to make, so it's best to order it first. I started with beer and then had a highball with Japanese whisky from Iwai, which had a rich aroma and sweetness that paired well with the food. In Kitashinchi, this restaurant offers great value for money and delicious food. If you're in Osaka, be sure to check it out! #KitashinchiGourmet #KitashinchiIzakaya #OsakaGourmet #OsakaIzakaya #ShokudoAkari #JapaneseWhiskyIwai

Visited the restaurant "Shokudo To" quietly tucked away in the flashy city of Kita-Shinchi in Osaka. With the location being what it is, I felt a bit hesitant entering, but I placed my order anyway! We had a sashimi platter, taro and scallop potato salad, sweet snapper grilled dish, white asparagus spring rolls, duck meatballs, and more. Enjoyed them all with some sake. The cost performance may not be the best, but the food is definitely delicious! Thank you for the meal.

Kitashinchi Dining Bar "Akari" is a small shop, but it's quite a nice place. When you order, they bring it to you in small portions, which is nice. Their famous dish is the deep-fried horse mackerel, made with fresh mackerel fried rare. They also have a great selection of drinks, making it a great place for couples.

I went to a delicious izakaya in Kitashinchi. It's a small place with a counter and two tables, run by two friendly guys. Everything I tried was delicious, but the saury and karasumi mixed rice is amazing. It takes over 30 minutes to make, so order it early. Even though I was already full, I finished 1.5 servings. Very satisfying!

This is a cozy izakaya located on the second floor of a building on Eiraku Street in Kitashinchi. The interior has a homey atmosphere with wooden decor, a counter with 8 seats, and two tables at the back. The menu offers a variety of dishes such as fish, meat, and fried foods, keeping it simple. The counter seating provides a lively experience, with dishes like spring vegetable sesame salad, assorted sashimi with tuna, squid, and Spanish mackerel, fried sawara fish with tartar sauce, and duck meatballs with vegetables in a savory sauce topped with mullet roe.

I have been secretly visiting this restaurant. It's my favorite place, so I haven't written a review because I was afraid it would become too popular and I wouldn't be able to go anymore. But lately, it's been getting crowded, so I decided to post this. I recommend ordering the steak in advance because it is cooked slowly. The seafood is also delicious, so it might be a good idea to consult with the owner and order. P.S. I always go alone.

If there were a restaurant like this nearby. It's the kind of place I'd like to visit as a daily restaurant. They pay attention to solo customers and create a homely atmosphere. It's a place where a little thoughtfulness is appreciated. They also use good quality ingredients for their dishes.

Located on the second floor of a mixed-use building on Eirakucho Street in Kitashinchi, is the restaurant Toh. It is a cozy izakaya where you can enjoy high-quality dishes and sake. They offer delicious charcoal-grilled black wagyu beef, fish dishes like fish tartare fry that pair well with sake. The must-try dishes are the flavorful kamameshi and croque-monsieur. The restaurant has a Kitashinchi-like atmosphere but with a warm and welcoming vibe, making it a wonderful place to dine.Visited in February 2022:It had been a while since I visited Kitashinchi, so I decided to check out the restaurant Toh that I had been curious about. It's a stylish restaurant that stays open until late at night (usually). To start off in true Kitashinchi fashion, I ordered a Hakushu highball for 880 yen! The dishes are served in individual portions, so the photos show half the usual amount of food. The dishes I tried were: - Sesame tofu appetizer - Simmered young burdock for 700 yen - Sanriku iwashi sashimi for 900 yen - Grilled cod milt with soy sauce for 1400 yen - Saury fry with tartar sauce for 1500 yen - Charcoal-grilled black wagyu beef for 2500 yen - Karasumi mochi for 1650 yen - Anago and sansho pepper kamameshi for 2950 yen - Nanohana and squid ink croque-monsieur for 1050 yen Sake selection included: - Yamaguchi Gohashi Risshun Asa-sasuri Junmai Ginjo - Wakayama Kumano-no-Kuni Taiheiyo Junmai - Miyagi Hiromi Yasuke Yarijuku Junmai Ginjo - Wakayama Kido Junmai Sake made from Yamada Nishiki rice grown in Anara The sesame tofu appetizer was so good that it made me want to drink sake right away. The fatty iwashi sashimi with eggplant was a perfect match for sake. The rich cod milt with soy sauce had a nice touch with tea-flavored rice crackers. The rare saury fry with pickled radish tartare and the flavorful charcoal-grilled black wagyu beef were all delightful dishes made with high-quality ingredients and a touch of creativity. The meal ended with a carb fest - starting with my favorite karasumi mochi. The anago and sansho pepper kamameshi had a lovely aroma and was topped with grilled conger eel. The rice was cooked perfectly, and the leftover rice made excellent onigiri to take home. The croque-monsieur was also amazing, with a creamy sauce that paired perfectly with the richness of squid ink and the fragrance of nanohana. The slightly oily finish on the bread was a perfect touch. I ate until I was full, enjoyed plenty of sake, and the total bill came out to just over 10,000 yen per person. The restaurant has a Kitashinchi-like atmosphere, but the warm hospitality of the chef made it a pleasant and relaxed dining experience. You can enjoy a hearty meal, sake, and a satisfying finish at this Kitashinchi restaurant. Thank you for the delicious meal.

A creative Japanese restaurant that utilizes quality ingredients, offering a casual dining experience. Chef Minamimoto, who was popular at the renowned Kitano Mikkan in Kita Shinchi, has opened his own restaurant. The menu includes sashimi, simmered dishes, and kamameshi, with the option for course meals as well. The dishes are light and satisfying, perfect for late-night dining. They offer a selection of approximately 40 types of shochu and 10 types of sake. Recommended dishes include Nanohana and Squid Ink Croque Monsieur, Saury Fry with Tartar Sauce, and Grilled Cod Milt with Soy Sauce. Each dish is served individually, making it a great option for a casual dining experience in Kita Shinchi.

This is a restaurant I saw on Instagram and wanted to visit. They serve each dish individually, which is much appreciated in these times, and allows you to eat without worrying. When looking at the menu, I was torn because everything looked so appealing. The food was delicious, and I especially enjoyed the shirasu kamameshi we had for the finale! They have a variety of sake options, which made my sake-loving senior colleague very happy.
