I still had half of my Sapporo city crowdfunding ticket (worth 650 yen) valid until the end of February. Last time, I was told that it was okay even if the deadline had passed, so I took my time coming here as I had been busy with medical treatments and surgery. It is a small coffee specialty shop with only 6 counter seats and one table for two. It may take about 5-8 minutes on foot from the subway station. The shop is not very noticeable in the residential area, so the location may be a bit hard to find. There are not many cafe shops around Kankyo-tohigashi Station, so this place is quite precious. The milkshake, which was 330 yen last time, had increased to 400 yen. Considering the balance with the coffee prices, it is not too expensive. This time, I was thinking of getting cheesecake, but I was told, "It's not on the menu, but we have chiffon cake today," so I decided to try it. It was 370 yen. It had honey drizzled on top, giving a homemade feel. It felt like being at a friend's house and being served homemade cake. We enjoyed it together. Even in a short time, spending time here makes you feel very relaxed. It's a very pleasant space. It may be because of the master's personality. Considering the short walk from the station, I may not be able to come here often, but I definitely want to visit again. Next time, I might try the cheesecake or cheese toast. They use potatoes instead of flour for the castella cake. Both were delicious. I wish there were cafes like this near my home, especially when I was taking care of my parents. It would have been nice to have a place to visit for a short break during grocery shopping. The shop had a very cozy atmosphere. After wandering around the area for about 15 minutes, I was lucky to find a single empty seat at the corner of the counter. The walls were all open, allowing a breeze to flow in despite it being late September with temperatures over 20 degrees Celsius. The interior had ambient music playing softly in the background. The kitchen behind the counter was run by a man in his 30s who, despite being busy, handled customers smoothly. He handed me the menu and asked me to take a look. I ordered the "Blend @495" using the French press method. The coffee was served precisely after a timer was set for about 2 minutes. It was a good amount for those who wanted to savor their coffee slowly. The coffee had a mild acidity and a pleasant bitterness, showing that it was made by someone who knew what they were doing. The menu seemed flexible and not yet fully established, making the experience enjoyable. The place is small and inconspicuous, but it is well-supported by the local residents. I overheard the owner mentioning that they also get quite busy at night with regulars enjoying coffee or drinks. If you have the chance to visit in the evening, it might be worth trying a drink.

Surprisingly, there is no background music, but the sounds from outside are not too distracting. On this day, I ordered the "Peru Wilson medium roast coffee (770 yen)" after a detailed discussion with the owner, and also decided to try the "Fourteenth Hall Castella cake (330 yen)". The coffee was indeed delicious, with a light and refreshing taste, a subtle acidity, and a sweetness that increased over time. The unique coffee cup from Poland with a curved lip made it easy to drink. The Castella cake, made with potatoes and using the "Sayaka" variety, was incredibly moist and almost resembled a sweet potato dessert. The taste can vary depending on how it's brewed. The blended coffee here is not too bitter or acidic, making it easy to drink. Some interesting characters from the neighborhood showed up while I was there, including a friendly woman and a rough-looking man. I hope only the nice people show up next time! (laughs)
