"Mennkureya" shop was known to be opening based on information from Dekachan. I happened to be in Kitami on the opening day. I had already given up on Zero Ken, leaving it to Teio. So, we decided to take it easy and go to the "Onneyu hot spring bath" on Sunday. We will stop by on the way. There used to be a ramen shop with the same name as the shop. It is in the same building as a take-out yakitori shop. The interior of the shop is quite spacious with a counter for 6 seats, 3 tables for 4 people, and 1 table for 8 people. It is past 2 pm, but there are 3 groups of customers with 4 people each, and 1 group with 2 people. The cleanup is not up to date. There are 2 male staff members, and another person who came later, but it is unclear if they are related to the shop. It seems like they are acquaintances but not staff members. The hot spring visit was at the request of Yome-san, so when she said, "You can have a beer," I didn't hesitate to order one. We ordered the "Rich Ramen with Rich Tonkotsu Base Shoyu" for 800 yen and the "Dashi Ramen with Light Fish Dashi Base Shoyu" for 800 yen. The prices were not very satisfying. There are 2 TVs, but it's quite foggy in here. The ventilation seems weak. The kitchen is in a separate room, but something needs to be done about this. We waited for more than 10 minutes, which is quite long. This needs improvement. The noodles are Nishiyama hard, which I find delicious. The bamboo shoots have a slight acidity, which I don't like as I dislike acidity. The bean sprouts seem to be overcooked, and they don't have a good texture. The smoke in the restaurant is making it foggy, but there is no fragrance despite the smokiness. Yome-san's fish broth arrived, and it was different. The noodles are not bad in either dish. The light one has the fish flavor upfront, but the broth doesn't satisfy until the end. The rich one surprisingly has a strong taste and saltiness. The bean sprouts, onions, and ground meat seem to go better with this one. Yome-san doesn't like the Sapporo miso-like topping on this one. The garlic in the rich ramen is delicious. When you eat the light one first, the richness of the rich one stands out. The seaweed goes well with the rich one. The half-boiled seasoned egg with half a green onion is delicious and I would like to add more. The chashu is tender with a good amount of fat, which I like. The tonkotsu soup in the rich one is good. The shoyu in the light one is mild with a pork bone base. Yome-san also says that she prefers the rich one. I won't give a score for the light one. The fish-based broth is too mediocre. When the broth lacks depth, it makes you feel that way. The rich one gets a 3.8. When the shop is full, I don't think the turnover rate will be good, and I worry about how smoky it will get once it's full. It was a ramen shop where you couldn't help but wonder. The master was energetic and that was fine. He gave us a thumbs up when we left. Thank you, it was delicious.
