Smoked eggs 6 for 660 yen On the way back from Kita-Yuzawa, when returning from the direction of Jozankei, I suddenly saw the words "smoked eggs"!! My curiosity got the best of me and I had to stop by! When I asked the owner, they said it takes about 5 days to make because it's quite labor-intensive, but they sell well so they always make sure to have them in stock. And for this price, it's really cheap. My friend and I shared a pack. The strong smoky flavor is quite noticeable just by looking at the shells. It's like they were smoked!!! The taste, of course, is not seasoned, but the smokiness really comes through when you eat it. The color of the inside is slightly brownish, but there wasn't much change in taste. I always get so happy when I find homemade items like this. Thank you for the meal!

Today, I stopped by after soaking in the Kogane-yu Onsen. This street is the one I usually take on my way back from Jozankei. I was planning to go to a hot spring beyond Nakayama Pass today, but there was a huge traffic jam near Jozankei (;^ω^) So, I decided to go to Kogane-yu Onsen instead. I parked in front of the store and bought two packs of "kuntama" with two eggs each. Our office lady loves "kuntama" so I always check if they have it when I pass by. Sometimes it's sold out. Today was lucky♪ I'll come back again ('◇')ゞ

Shirakawa is a favorite place of mine (´▽`). It's a tradition to drive down this road every year to buy fresh vegetables. I thought about going strawberry picking since it's the season, but unfortunately I have work coming up. I resist the urge to eat and drive past the strawberry picking venue. Despite it being a Sunday, all the other fruit stands are strangely closed. Isn't the weekend the best time to sell? The only one that was open was Okamura Fruit Orchard. I've been here before, but this is my first visit since checking it out on Tabelog. First, I check out the vegetables and fruits. It seems they only have cherries today. I try three types of cherries for sampling. They taste like cherries, nothing too surprising, so I decide not to buy. I love Nanyo cherries the most and I want to try cherry picking there. So I end up buying their smoked eggs. I'm a fan of smoked eggs, so it's been a while since I've had their smoked eggs. The visual is nice, with a good smoky aroma. Now for the taste test. The smoky flavor on the egg white is quite delicious. The overall smoky taste is prominent. Now onto the yolk. It's a bit too ripe for my liking. Well, it's a matter of preference, so those who like ripe yolks might enjoy it. If you love smoked eggs like me, the information is available year-round. I love smoked eggs so much that I would travel to try them in different places. This was Tsumako, a smoked egg lover. Thank you for the meal!

On a certain holiday, while passing by on my way home, I happened to come across a fruit orchard with several cars parked outside. I couldn't resist and decided to stop by the fruit shop. The parking lot had space for a few cars next to the store. The shop itself was long and displayed various autumn fruits for sale. From the menu that day, I picked out a few items from the shelves, checking the prices and choosing something that I could finish on my own. "Ichigon" (120 yen) - I couldn't resist and ate it the next day, even though I probably should have waited a bit longer. It was juicy and fresh, with a slight hint of sourness and less sweetness, giving it a slight greenness. "Aurora" (200 yen) - When I bought it, it was a deep yellow and slightly soft. After leaving it at room temperature for 2-3 days and then chilling it, the texture became wonderfully soft with a good amount of sweetness, almost at the point of being overripe. "Brandy Wine" (200 yen) - It had a light green color and needed to be softened to taste good. After leaving it at room temperature for a few days and then chilling it again, the pear's sweetness exploded in a soft, fluffy texture. "Smoked Eggs" (250 yen for 2) - Despite being a fruit shop, I couldn't resist the curiosity of smoked eggs. After peeling off the shell with a dark color and smoky flavor, the white inside was surprisingly white. When I took a bite, the smoky flavor was subtle, with a light aroma and just the right amount of salt, perfect for pairing with beer or as a snack. I realized the importance of timing when it comes to buying and enjoying fruits. Thank you for the delicious treats.
