釣りするカツオに食べるカツオ
The fishing friend in Taisho Ward also loves curry. Yataras Spice has been a candidate for multiple visits, but every time we try to go, they seem to be closed for temporary reasons or have gone for an out-of-town event, so the timing never works out (^_^;) Yataras Spice is scheduled to end its operation in Taisho Ward around the end of May (moving to Nishiwaki City, Hyogo Prefecture). I decided to visit Yataras Spice while I can still walk there. The address of Yataras Spice is 1-2-5 Mikenyahigashi, Taisho Ward, Osaka City, and the nearest station is a 5-minute walk from Taisho Station on various lines. I arrived around 1:00 pm, following the navigation. I had previously been given a rough idea of the location of eating and drinking establishments around Taisho Station by a fishing friend in Taisho Ward, but I misunderstood the location as diagonally opposite to "Goyenya Izumo-san." As rumored, there was a steep external staircase with a sign that said "Curry ahead →." I couldn't help but stare at the staircase, wondering if it was out of compliance with the Building Standards Law, but more importantly... My husband is afraid of heights! He gets scared (^_^;) After waiting for a while, my fishing friend from Taisho Ward arrived. No waiting outside! I asked my fishing friend from Taisho Ward to go up first and check if we could enter (this is the most important part) and got the OK! I nervously climbed the external staircase to the second floor! After thoroughly disinfecting both hands with a disinfectant spray, we were allowed to take photos and were seated at a table for two. The menu included curry, keema, goat curry, side dishes, pickled daikon, pickled burdock, cabbage curry, eggplant masala, black sesame and new potato salad, burdock and new onion pakora, tomato and pineapple salad, dal, papad, rice (dal and rice are refillable). Optional items included chicken cartilage pickle, green chili pickle, and spicy dried shrimp. Since I didn't know when I would be able to eat them again after the relocation, I decided to order both curries, all the options, and rice refills. My fishing friend and I exchanged various information and chatted for a while until the dishes arrived. When I took off my mask, I was greeted by a strong aroma of spices! Let's dig in! Starting with the dal! It had a well-pasteurized bean texture and a gentle flavor. The dal being refillable was a great bonus! I later realized that the two curries were packed with spices, so this dal was a must! The keema was rich and meaty! I finally understood that Yataras Spice had a lot of spices in its name! The goat curry had bone-in meat! The abundance of spices made my body heat up! All the side dishes were really delicious, with a variety of flavors - acidity, sweetness, spiciness, whole spices, raw vegetables, and an impressive repertoire! It seemed like they had studied a lot on-site and experimented a lot to achieve their current style! The options also added a different texture - chicken cartilage pickle, very spicy green chili pickle, and spicy dried shrimp that showed its true value when mixed with the main dishes. My fishing friend and I sweated as we enjoyed the food, mixing everything together and saying how delicious it was. The abundance of spices at Yataras Spice was amazing! I finished everything, from rice and dal to all the curries and options! The rice refill was served on separate plates. I placed the rice in the center, removed the goat bones, mixed in the curry, side dishes, and options, and finally crushed the papad on top. The chaotic mix of flavors at Yataras Spice was wonderful! It's a bit of a messy story, but I choked because there wasn't enough chopped green chili pickle (^_^;) I was able to enjoy changing the taste until the end! I left the restaurant after paying and thanking the owner of Yataras Spice. Thank you for the meal! It was delicious! I will definitely come back!
