It was my first time in a while to visit Kagawa. This place is really popular, with a smooth dashi flavor and excellent taste and texture of the udon noodles. Despite being a busy restaurant, the staff provide polite service just like in the old days, and the taste and atmosphere are outstanding. Both the customers waiting in line and those eating know what to expect, so the wait time is not too long. The oden is also delicious, so it's recommended to try it while waiting for your udon.

A shop that I occasionally visit for a casual meal. It's been about 25 years since I first started going there. Today, we shared oden, curry udon, and beef udon. We had to wait for about 10 minutes at 9 PM. It's a shop that we always wait for on Fridays. They only accept cash payments. I highly recommend this udon shop. You should be fine with around 3000 yen per person.

On regular days in 1940, I always end up at Kagawa in Kitashinchi for some reason. Despite the name, it doesn't really give off the impression of Sanuki udon, but the handmade udon here has a great texture. The curry udon is unique, with a separate curry broth made in a large pot. It's not thick like a stew, but the curry itself is a bit gooey, creating a distinct flavor. I've had curry udon at many places, but this one stands out. The onigiri is a must-have with the curry udon, adding a nice salty touch to the meal. The oden, especially the thick fried tofu, is highly recommended as well. However, being in Kitashinchi, the prices are not cheap. At 1,300 yen for curry udon, it may seem pricey, but considering the recent price hikes at other places, it's not too unreasonable.

Udon restaurant in Kitashinchi. Open only at night. The curry udon with tempura shrimp is popular. Comes with 2 tempura shrimp, pork, fried tofu, and green onions. The curry broth is delicious and just to my liking. Be sure to eat it before getting too drunk, as the taste may become unclear. Still delicious. The oden has fish cake, boiled egg, and tendon. Goes great with beer.

Late-night in Kitashinchi, if you're in the mood for udon, this is the place to be. If there's a line, consider yourself lucky. The Kagawa specialty curry udon is only 1300 yen, which is quite reasonable for Kitashinchi. Also, the simmered chikuwa for 250 yen is a must-try. You don't need to order the oden separately. The cold bukkake udon with tempura and thin noodles is also delicious. It was a tough choice between the two, but both were satisfying. Thank you for the meal.

This is Kagawa curry udon and meat udon. Unlike regular curry udon, this one is rich and packs a punch, incredibly delicious. The meat udon has a light broth with meat juices that match perfectly, making it extremely tasty. Tasting them together was a luxurious moment. The onigiri (rice ball) is also delicious.

I visited this place as a final stop after drinking. They are open until morning, so I have been here many times before. Even though the dish I had was high in calories for a late-night meal, it was delicious enough to make up for the guilt. The popular dishes I ordered were Curry Udon for ¥1,300, Daikon Radish Oden for ¥200, Beef Tendon for ¥400, Potatoes for ¥200, and a bottle of Kagawa Beer. It was so satisfying!

Located about a 3-minute walk from JR Kitashinchi Station, "Kagawa Kitashinchi Store" is recommended by a friend for a late-night meal when you're hungry. I was recommended the "Tempura Curry" which has shrimp tempura in it. While waiting for my udon, I enjoyed some delicious oden with thick fried tofu, shirataki noodles, and daikon radish. The Tempura Curry Udon had the type of noodles I like, slightly firm. I would definitely want to visit this place again.

After drinking, this is the perfect place for a meal to finish the night! I arrived around 22:00, so I didn't have to wait too long to get in. The specialty here is curry udon, but I always go for the broth-based udon. I didn't take any photos, but on this day I had the cold tororo udon. The noodles had a good firmness and I personally recommend the cold option! The oden is also delicious. If they had highballs or shochu, that would make me even happier...!

A udon restaurant in Kita-Shinchi, Osaka. Their specialty is curry udon. Located a bit inside a tenant building, so you might get lost if you don't know about it. The restaurant has a somewhat old-fashioned and dignified atmosphere. The service is experienced and reassuring. The most famous dish seems to be the curry udon, but since we were two people, we also ordered the mountain vegetable soba. The menu also includes oden. It's a convenient place for those looking for a second stop. The curry udon has a slightly thick broth with a traditional curry udon appearance. The toppings include beef, green onions, and fried tofu. The udon noodles are slightly soft. Even though the name is Kagawa, it feels like an Osaka restaurant. The taste... delicious. It has a seasoned flavor, maybe due to the good balance between the broth and curry powder. The mountain vegetable soba with wasabi is refreshing. They offer a good mix of hot and cold dishes, so you won't break a sweat alternating between them. I bet many salarymen come here for a final meal.

This is a shop I always stop by when I return to Osaka. It's open until late at night, so it's convenient, but there can be a line even late at night. I visited around 11 pm and there was already one group waiting. I waited for about 15 minutes and then got in right away. After that, there were about 10 people waiting. It's right in the middle of Kitashinchi, so hostesses from nearby bars often come after work. It might be better to go before that. The prices are on the higher side due to the location. But for some reason, I always end up stopping by. The curry udon is 2000 yen. The oden is also delicious, so I always end up ordering it. Udon and oden as a way to end a drinking session. The best. I will definitely visit again.

Ate and drank a lot, then finished off at a hand-made udon restaurant in Kitashinchi. We waited a little and were shown to our table. We were unsure about the menu, but the recommended curry udon was amazing! We also ordered beer and oden. Even though it's an udon restaurant, the oden was also delicious. Overall, it was fantastic! Delicious!

There is an udon restaurant in Kitashinchi that stays open late. The recommended dish is the meat udon, and the curry udon seems to be popular as well, but I tried the tempura udon. The Kansai-style seasoning on the udon was really good. I'd like to try the curry udon or meat udon next time.

After drinking in Higo-bashi for a welcome and farewell party at work, the main person said they wanted to eat udon, so the 7 of us walked over to the restaurant. The most popular dish here is curry udon, and the recommended dish is meat udon, as indicated by the signs inside the restaurant. However, I didn't hesitate and ordered my favorite dish, the egg udon. I wonder if that was a mistake? Honestly, I thought the udon you can get at standing udon shops around here tasted much better. (This is just my personal opinion). I was envious of my subordinate who ordered the curry udon without hesitation...

I went around 1:30 in the middle of the night, but there was already a line, so I waited for about 30 minutes. When I entered the shop, there was a nice smell of dashi, and even though I had already been drinking, I had a beer with oden and then had curry udon. I could choose between thin noodles or regular noodles, and I could also get a half portion, so it was just the right amount for the time! The dashi was also very flavorful and delicious. Thank you for the meal ♡♡

Located in Kitashinchi, there was a line forming on a weekday night. The interior of the restaurant has counter seats and table seats. While waiting for the Curry Udon and Udon with Pork and Egg, Oden is served first. The daikon radish is tender and flavorful, and the pork is both chewy and melt-in-your-mouth. The egg is large and very satisfying. The Curry Udon is a simple dish with fried tofu and green onions. The curry is rich and delicious. Overall, it was a very satisfying meal.

Handmade udon in Kagawa, commonly known as Kitashinchi, is a shop located in Osaka. The relationship with Kagawa Prefecture is unclear. It is a charming night spot with a narrow aisle where staff members pass by and bump into you. Since I came all the way to Osaka, I decided to choose something I wouldn't see in Kagawa, like the "kizami udon" for 1000 yen. I also noticed that while there are common Kansai-origin udon dishes like meat udon or kitsune udon, I rarely see "kamaage udon" in Kagawa. The udon served here is a firm, medium-thick type with toppings like kizami and long green onions. Considering its location in Kitashinchi, the prices are on the higher side. They seem to put a lot of effort into offering zaru udon with thin noodles. One thing that bothered me is that even though it's a non-smoking establishment, you can still smell cigarette smoke. #Kagawa #06-6345-0228 #1-5-25 Sonezaki Shinchi, Kita-ku, Osaka City. Information provided by Takamatsu Chuo Recycling Service. Tried my hand at high-end udon in Osaka, and here's my review.

While I am in Osaka, I really enjoy trying out different types of udon restaurants, such as this one called Kagawa. This particular place in Kitashinchi is a high-end udon spot that stays open late into the night. The signature dish here is curry udon, which is also a popular choice in Kagawa, where I'm from. The restaurant is quite small and cramped, making it feel a bit stuffy. The prices are on the higher side, with the most expensive item being the Tempura Curry at 2000 yen. The tempura included in this dish is just 2 pieces of shrimp, which was a bit surprising. The curry itself was standard, and the noodles were soft. Overall, I was happy to have the opportunity to try udon in Osaka, even though I still prefer the quality of udon in Kagawa. After a satisfying meal, I decided to walk to a popular standing bar nearby. Thank you for the delicious meal!

On Saturday around 7pm, after seeing off our friend P who left early, the three of us headed to Kita-Shinchi as per my request to eat some unnecessarily expensive (sorry) udon! The restaurant we went to is ranked 46th when you search for Osaka City x Udon on Tabelog, with almost 500 reviews making it a popular spot. The name of the restaurant is great, surpassing even the local names like Marugame. We are aiming to complete the top 100 list (13 more to go).
We ordered the specialty curry udon for 1,300 yen (tax included). It was quite rich with curry powder dissolved in the broth, resulting in a strong and flavorful dish with plenty of beef, chopped fried tofu, and green onions. It was a relatively standard dish, but I couldn't help but think how nice it would be if it was 1,000 yen. I finished every last bit, and it was delicious.
As for the deer, he ordered the chopped udon for 1,000 yen (tax included). Chopped fried tofu is apparently a rare menu item in Kagawa, so it was interesting to see.
The broth seemed a bit sweet or maybe it just didn't suit our tastes, perhaps because the staff's clothes had a certain smell to them, even though the restaurant is non-smoking. We ended up leaving most of the broth untouched.
The geisha ordered the heavenly curry udon for 2,000 yen (tax included), which is a luxurious order that locals would never make but she did because we were on a trip. It came with two shrimp tempura, each costing 350 yen.
The geisha ate them with a somewhat awkward expression on her face.

"Nearby there is a delicious curry udon restaurant" was recommended, and after having a moderate amount of wine at the first place, we visited this second place for the first time. It was around 9:30 pm on a Tuesday. Upon arrival, we were greeted with a lively voice saying, 'We are just clearing up the tables, please wait a moment.' There were some chairs lined up outside the entrance, so we waited there for 1-2 minutes. We ordered a bottle of Asahi beer and the specialty oden. Since there were two of us, they kindly cut the oden into bite-sized pieces for us! When we finished the oden, we ordered the curry udon as well. You can order a half portion of udon (¥100 off ♡) which was a nice option. The curry udon was not too spicy, with a nostalgic thick sauce. We were happy to find a chunk of meat in it. The restaurant was always full with customers coming and going, constantly busy. After 10 pm, it seems to be a popular spot for salarymen to come and enjoy a closing meal of curry udon. The staff were friendly and provided quick service, making the atmosphere very pleasant. We will definitely visit again when we have the chance ☆"
