This restaurant offers not only lunch but also dinner set meals. This time, I had the shrimp chili set meal, the stir-fried pork with green peppers set meal, and a la carte dried radish omelet. As always, it was incredibly delicious. The portions were ample, and the cost performance was excellent. Next time, I might choose a different set meal, go for the very cost-effective course, or visit for lunch. Regardless, when I visit Yokohama Chinatown again, I definitely plan to stop by this place.

We enjoyed a variety of dishes a la carte with three people and left feeling full. Although the entrance is small, the cleanliness of the place is impressive, and it's an inexpensive and delicious local Chinese restaurant. The shrimp in chili sauce and seafood teppanyaki were both tasty. The portion sizes were good, and there was no stickiness on the tables or menus, so we were quite satisfied. I usually dislike the ammonia smell of preserved eggs, but the ones here were fresh without any odor, and I definitely want to visit again.

After watching the Baystars championship parade, I stopped by this restaurant! On a Saturday afternoon, Yokohama's Chinatown is bustling with activity—so many people everywhere! Lately, it seems like there are many buffet restaurants and fortune-telling shops in Chinatown. The last time I visited, I went to a buffet place and tried various dishes, but everything tasted the same. Since then, I haven't used buffets. Now, this restaurant offers a reasonably priced set meal for 900 yen! I ordered Course C (beef and green peppers), while my companion chose the braised pork rice set. The set includes the main dish, along with steamed chicken, almond tofu, egg soup, and some pickled vegetables. It feels more like Taiwanese cuisine rather than Chinese! Of course, I opted for warm Shaoxing wine! The beef and green pepper dish is flavorful with tender slices of beef stir-fried with vegetables. It has a great volume and is quite satisfying. I took a bite of my companion's braised pork rice— the stewed pork belly is tender and delicious. However, it doesn’t feel very Chinese; I think it could use a bit more of that star anise aroma. A glass of three-year-old Shaoxing wine is 600 yen, but if you use the Tabelog coupon, you can enjoy three glasses for just 1000 yen. If you’re a drinker, definitely make use of that offer. Thank you for the meal!

This weekend in Yokohama's Motomachi Chinatown, during lunch time, it’s usually crowded and reservations are a must. However, because the number of attendees wasn’t confirmed, the organizer went in without a reservation. As expected, we couldn’t get into any restaurant and became lunch refugees, but we managed to find this place that had tables available for walk-ins. We ordered a lunch course for 1,480 yen per person, which included smoked duck and squid dumpling soup, mixed fried rice, xiao long bao (soup dumplings), gyoza, shumai, daikon cake, and almond tofu—totaling eight dishes! Considering the course price, it felt like quite a bargain, and the food was reliably delicious, showcasing classic Chinese flavors. I enjoyed a draft beer during lunch, and the total came to just over 2,000 yen. This place offers great value for a satisfying meal of tasty town-style Chinese food. It might have just been lucky timing that we found an opening around lunch, but it could be a hidden gem!

This is a long-established Taiwanese restaurant that has been around for nearly 50 years. One of their popular dishes is Lu Rou Fan (braised pork rice). Although we didn't order it this time, I admire that it is offered for just 600 yen. I visited on a Saturday just before 5 PM, and there were still some empty tables available. I stayed for just over an hour, but by the time I left, the restaurant was bustling with customers. As a result, we ordered more appetizer-style dishes this time, but many of them had a calm and balanced flavor. While tastes may vary, I think overall these dishes would appeal to Japanese palates. One particularly memorable dish was the vegetable soup with egg. The light salty flavor of the soup and the sweetness of the vegetables really warmed me up. **Ordered:** - Assorted three appetizers - Stir-fried bean sprouts - Mapo tofu - Pan-fried dumplings (5 pieces) - Vegetable soup with egg

On the last day of the three-day weekend, I took a walk from Motomachi Chinatown to Yokohama and stopped by for an early lunch. I arrived right at 10:30 when the restaurant opened. It felt a bit more like an actual restaurant than before; in the past, the entrance seemed like a business, but once you were taken to the back room, it felt like stepping into someone's home. For lunch, I had the LUROUYUAN (Braised Pork Rice) set for 990 yen. It came with a bowl, soup, and dessert all for under 1000 yen, which is impressive for a tourist spot like Chinatown. From my previous visit notes, it seems the price was around 700 yen back then. I complained about it back then, too, so it's clear that prices have risen. Now, if I can get a meal for under 1000 yen, I am really grateful. The taste was the usual lu rou fan (braised pork rice), but there wasn’t anything particularly special about it. It might be because I've gotten used to the instant varieties from Kaldi that just need to be mixed with rice. The flavor was on par with what I get from Kaldi. Considering that, it's amazing that Kaldi allows us to enjoy the same quality of cuisine from Chinatown at home.

We went with three adults and two children. The menu ranged from classic Chinese dishes to more local specialties. Since we were there, we decided to order à la carte so we could choose what we liked, but the two kids only shared a wonton noodle soup, which meant that the total bill for the three adults came to 10,000 yen, making it an unexpectedly lavish lunch (I regretted not sticking to a set menu, which would have been the most economical option). Dishes like braised pork and lu rou fan had a strong anise flavor and incorporated local spices, so they definitely delivered more authentic flavors compared to typical neighborhood Chinese food. However, dim sum and shrimp chili had familiar tastes, making them easy for elderly diners and children to enjoy. The crispy chicken was a bit on the bland side (it would have been nice to have some table salt and pepper). I think this restaurant is a good choice for those who want to experience a bit of authentic cuisine since we were in Chinatown.

This is a restaurant I almost always visit for lunch or dinner when I go to Yokohama. It's famous for its lu rou fan (braised pork rice), but I usually go for the dim sum course or the Taichung course, which is a standard choice. This time, I opted for the Taichung course. I was satisfied with everything—taste, portion size, and variety—considering the price. The seasoning is on the saltier side, but that makes it even more appetizing and addictive. During lunch hours, the place gets crowded mainly with local businessmen, but during dinner time, it's usually easy to get in without a reservation. I always find it strange that, despite its good reputation, it doesn't get overly busy. It's one of the places I definitely want to keep visiting.

This is the go-to place for the long-standing specialty of Lu Rou Fan in Chinatown. Although the price has increased from 500 yen to 600 yen, I think the cost performance is still good. The restaurant has been renovated and now resembles a Chinese family restaurant, so I miss the nostalgic atmosphere of "grandma's house" from back in the day.

I arrived at Shiumien for lunch just after 11 o'clock. The restaurant had only table seating, and there were about four groups ahead of me. I was seated at a table and checked the menu, ordering the Lu Rou Fan for 600 yen. It was served in about five minutes. The dish included two pieces of braised pork belly, minced meat, chopped pickled mustard greens, and a boiled egg, all on a bed of rice soaked in plenty of sauce. The pork belly was slightly tough, but the fat was wonderfully tender. I mixed all the ingredients together and enjoyed it. It was quite filling, and for 600 yen, I felt very satisfied. Thank you for the meal!

Before visiting two acquaintances’ shops in Motomachi Chinatown, I had to quickly grab lunch! With lunch hour coming to an end, I hurriedly dashed into a restaurant. It appeared to be a long-established famous place, as it was mentioned on TV and advertised on its menu. The restaurant was spacious and had a relaxing atmosphere, which raised my expectations with its rich variety of options. I decided on Taiwanese-style fried rice vermicelli. The dish was served with thin noodles similar to soba, accompanied by ingredients like chives, carrots, dried shiitake mushrooms, dried shrimp, and cabbage. It was hearty and the seasoning was simple yet delicious. They also provided a soup with seaweed and tofu as a side. It was light and, with such a generous portion, I ended up feeling very full. Thank you for the meal!

I was surprised at how affordable the lunch was! And it was delicious too♪ At first, I was seated near the entrance and felt a bit hot, but they quickly came to assist me, which I appreciated. There were so many options on the menu, and I really wanted to try the Lu Rou Fan, so I definitely want to go back.

There’s a restaurant in Yokohama Chinatown with plenty of table seating. I had the Lu Rou Fan! It featured thick, tender meat and ground pork, topped with something like pickled mustard greens. Although it looked like a small serving, I felt completely satisfied after eating. I ended up really full. I think it’s a great value for the price!

In Yokohama's Chinatown, there’s a Chinese restaurant located on a side street, just one block away from the main road. Even though it was a weekend, we were able to get in without any wait. I ordered a ramen filled with meat and vegetables. It had plenty of veggies including carrots, what I think was bok choy or spinach, green onions, and wood ear mushrooms. It was packed with nutrients and absolutely fantastic!

I saw photos of the dishes on Tabelog that looked like they had a lot of volume, and the reviews were good, so I was excited to go. However, the food turned out to be just ordinary. I was also a bit concerned about the tea pot having some tea stains. Since I have a good impression of restaurants in Chinatown, my expectations were high, which made it feel a little disappointing compared to what I had imagined.

I had oil chicken for lunch. I previously tried lu rou fan and found it incredibly delicious, so this was my second visit, and this dish was also very tasty with tender meat and a generous portion! The soup had a nice balance of sourness and spiciness, which made it quite flavorful, but since I'm not good with spicy food, it was a bit disappointing for me...

I wanted to go to a different restaurant for lunch, but it had already closed, so I decided to visit here instead. I was set on having Lu Rou Fan! The braised pork was tender and delicious, but overall the dish was bland and lacked punch. I was expecting the rice to be amazing based on the rumors, so I was disappointed. It's a good option for those looking to fill their stomachs cheaply, but I wouldn't recommend it for anyone expecting a delicious Lu Rou Fan.

I recently visited "Xiu Wei Yuan" on the Kantei Temple Street for a long-awaited lunch in Chinatown. For a long time, this place has been famous for its "Braised Pork Rice." I ordered the "Braised Pork Rice Set" for ¥900, which allows you to choose between wonton soup or fish soup. Since I’ve already tried their wonton soup, I decided to challenge myself with the fish soup this time. The soup is light and features fish paste, squid balls, lettuce, and chopped green onions in a salty broth. It serves as a refreshing palate cleanser while enjoying the braised pork rice, which comes topped with pickled mustard greens, ground meat, and a whole boiled egg. The boiled egg is naturally hard-boiled, and the seasoning of the rice is not overly salty, making it a classic and standard version of "Braised Pork Rice." Outside the restaurant, there is a blackboard with the daily lunch special, so those looking to try a set meal at a lower price should take a look. Even after 2 PM today, the place was still quite popular!

I came to Chinatown, but since it was a bit late, many restaurants were closed for lunch (;;). Fortunately, this one was open, so I was relievedᐡ⸝⸝> ·̫ <⸝⸝ᐡ. We were talking about wanting to try something unfamiliar to us in Japan, and I also asked the staff for recommendations. We ordered crispy chicken, fried duck tongue, and shrimp (⸝⸝⸝ᵒ̴̶̷ ᵒ̴̶̷⸝⸝⸝)♡ I got a small dumpling as a bonus with a coupon from Tabelog, which was lucky❁⃘*.゚ The dumplings were a bonus, but they were delicious! (⸝⸝⸝ᵒ̴̶̷ ᵒ̴̶̷⸝⸝⸝)♡ They were juicy and full of flavorful meat with every bite! I wanted to eat more⋈*。゚. The chicken was incredibly crispy, and the umami flavor was really intense, just as the recommendation suggested♡ I was curious about the duck tongue, and it turned out to be really easy to eat, but it had a completely different taste from the chicken, which was interesting❁⃘*.゚ I wonder how duck tongues are made, though; they had such a funny shape!♩ The shrimp was the most ordinary dish, but I was really satisfied because I could enjoy the taste of river shrimp. I was worried about not being able to find a good place, but I'm glad I ended up in such a delicious spotᐡ⸝⸝> ·̫ <⸝⸝ᐡ.

I went on a trip to have lunch and unfortunately, the weather was bad, so Chinatown was quite empty. It took a little over 5 minutes to get to the restaurant from Motomachi-Chukagai Station. The entrance showcased their recommended Lu Rou Fan, along with various set and course menus! When I entered through the automatic door, it just so happened that there were no other customers! (laughs) My main goal was to try the Lu Rou Fan set with some additional shumai! It took a bit of time, but the Lu Rou Fan set and the shumai were served almost simultaneously! First, let's talk about the set. It includes Lu Rou Fan, soup, and dessert – a three-item set for just 900 yen! I couldn't help but worry if that was too cheap! (laughs) However, I heard that it used to be even cheaper… As for the Lu Rou Fan, it consists of braised pork belly, minced meat, seasonal greens, and a boiled egg. I was surprised by the size of the braised pork and the egg! The seasoning was light, and the spices like star anise were quite subtle. Some people complained that there wasn't a clear menu for the set or commented on the price, but there's actually a notice about the set right at the door level! (laughs) Spices are generally expensive ingredients, so it’s natural for prices to increase when used. The individual item is 600 yen, and the set is 900 yen, which seems quite inexpensive. It's important to note that while this Lu Rou Fan is made to be "generally" easy to eat, those expecting something "authentic" might feel disappointed. However, I think it's quite rare to find a restaurant that serves both braised pork and a boiled egg in such generous portions! Plus, it comes with wonton soup and almond tofu. The wonton soup was delicious, and if I had to nitpick, the almond tofu was missing cherries, but that’s just a minor remark! (laughs) Recently, I've been exploring various Lu Rou Fan places, and this restaurant offers great value for money. It was really tasty. Thank you for the meal! ♪♪
