There is a BIF at Hankyu Department Store Umeda Main Store. I always stop by on my way home from work, but the line is always long and they are almost sold out. So, I went around 11 o'clock on a holiday and there were only 2 groups ahead of me, so there was hardly any line. As a souvenir, I bought two boxes of Brittany Cookie Assorti (23 pieces) for ¥2,484. It includes 6 types of cookies carefully baked using fragrant butter and packed in an original Brittany tin. The flavors include Caramel Sale, Pistachio, Galette Bretonne Doumi, Framboise, Diamant Chocolat, and Hazelnut. They are all delicious and flavorful. I also bought a box of Petit Financier Assorti (Spring/Summer Limited Edition) for ¥1,620. It includes Plain, Framboise, Caramel Amande, and Spring/Summer Limited Edition The Orange. These financiers are cute and delicious, with a variety of flavors to enjoy. The Plain flavor has a rich taste of burnt butter, almonds, and a hint of salt from Guerande, while the Framboise flavor combines sweet and sour raspberry confiture with buttery goodness. The Caramel Amande features a rich caramel dough with caramel chips and crunchy almonds, and The Orange has a fragrant tea base with slices of orange on top. The limited edition flavors are refreshing and delightful. Overall, the cookies are rich in flavor and absolutely delicious.

I bought a Gateau Nanterre and a Financier. The Financier was really delicious. I chose caramel and berry for the Gateau Nanterre. Both were quite sweet. The caramel had a crispy texture, but I didn't like the taste of the berry.

Gâteau Nante (phrase, orange). Located in the basement of Hankyu Osaka, so it's very accessible. The texture of the dough is nice and crispy, but the ingredients are too sweet for my liking. Also, the taste is a bit monotonous, so it feels slightly overwhelming.

There were about 5 people looking at the showcase when I visited at 2 pm on a weekday, but there was no wait. I bought Gâteau Nantais, apple, madeleine, financiers, chestnut financiers, croquant éclair, galette bretonne, and a tin of 23 cookies. The Gâteau Nantais had a nice acidity from the strawberries, and the apple had a strong rosemary aroma, both were delicious. The financiers had a fluffy texture, but I personally prefer a slightly crispier surface. The cookies were all crunchy with a good bite, and they were the best among the ones I bought this time.

After returning from Koshien, I bought some sweets at Umeda Hankyu before heading back to the hotel. There is a shop on the B1 floor of Umeda Hankyu. I was able to purchase without waiting around 6:30 pm on a weekend evening. I bought the "Fraise" (360 yen) and the "Original" (300 yen) from Gâteau Nant. The "Fraise" had a prominent sweet and sour taste, while the "Original" had a rich flavor. Since I had eaten dinner outside and then had the sweets at the hotel, the sweet and sour taste of the "Fraise" was refreshing and enjoyable.

Gâteau Nanterre is cute and popular. I prefer tart with a crispy cookie base, but here they have a tart with a soft almond-like texture like a cake. It was delicious. Caramel was great, chestnut was good, and orange was okay.

I have purchased from this place several times in Shinjuku and Shibuya in Tokyo, so I stopped by while visiting the department store. The financiers and galettes have consistently delicious taste. Currently, they are selling chestnut-flavored items due to the season, so I chose the chestnut financier. It's also convenient that you can purchase them individually.

I visited the shop with a friend who came from Tokyo at 2 o'clock in the afternoon. I had always avoided this place because I had the impression that it was always crowded, but since it was selected as one of the top 100 sweets shops, I decided to visit. I was worried if the Croquant Eclair was sold out, but luckily there were two left, so I secured them!

I aimed for the limited edition Croquant Eclair. It was sold out in seconds, with only 2 left when I arrived. I sent mental messages to the people in line in front of me not to buy them, but unfortunately, two of us managed to purchase them before they were sold out. We also bought the seasonal Financier, Marron É Marron. There were seasonal products like figs and apples displayed, so I want to come back again to buy more. However, it's in Ikebukuro, so it might be a bit difficult.

First visit. I don't usually eat baked goods, so I was unsure what to buy, but I ended up buying more than planned because it was fun (^◇^;) I purchased Financier, Galette Bretonne, Gateau Nantes, and Far Breton. As for the taste... Financier was moist, Galette Bretonne tasted like Bourbon Moonlight (^◇^;) I really liked Gateau Nantes - the moist dough with the scent of butter and almonds, and the marmalade was delicious (^O^) Far Breton had a mature taste with brandy-soaked prunes, and it was delicious (*´艸｀) I don't usually eat these kinds of sweets, so I ate them up quickly, haha. There is a popular sweets shop on the basement floor of Hankyu Umeda. They sell freshly baked seasonal financiers and galettes bretonnes. The financiers are fluffy with a great combination of flavors, especially with sweet potatoes. The galettes bretonnes have many layers inside, providing a satisfying crunch. Both were delicious.

I was able to buy the last Fabrton quickly because there were few customers in front of the store. It was great to get my hands on this dessert, which has a texture like pudding and just the right amount of sweetness. I'm so glad I found it! From Gâteau Nantais, I chose a phrase with a striking red color. The buttery dough competes with the refreshing sweet and sourness of the red elements. The balance is perfect! It's not heavy, and I finished it in no time.

I only tried the Original, but it enveloped my mouth with the scent of butter, and the rich flavor of fermented butter combined with the nuttiness of almonds was delicious. In Osaka Umeda, one of the confectionery shops located in Hankyu Umeda Main Store (basement 1st floor) called "Brutonne (Hankyu Umeda Main Store)" was recently selected for the first time in August 2023 as one of the top 100 sweets shops in Sweets WEST! On a weekday (Tuesday) around 6 pm, I decided to visit the shop even though it was a bit late. There was quite a line, with 5-6 staff members providing one-on-one customer service. The staff were recommending popular items and providing recommendations, and the service was polite and attentive, leaving a good impression. After waiting in line for about 5 minutes, the staff recommended the popular No. 1 item, "Financier". I managed to get the last piece! I also purchased the original "Gateau Nante". The No. 1 popular item, "Financier" (tax included 216 yen), had a moist and buttery texture with a delicious flavor. The "Gateau Nante (Original)" (tax included 324 yen) had a soft texture and a subtle flavor of ingredients. Both were delicious and well-made confectioneries. The shop offers a variety of items, making it a fun place to choose from. The taste was good, the service was excellent, the atmosphere was nice, and the prices were reasonable. The selection as one of the top 100 shops was a good opportunity to try the shop, but personally, I am a bit reserved on whether the taste was truly deserving of the top 100 status. This time, I purchased three items. <Gâteau Nante White Peach and Black Tea 454 yen> "Gâteau Nante" is their specialty, and this flavor is a limited edition product available until the end of August. The Earl Grey-scented cake is surprisingly moist. It is topped with fresh white peaches, making it visually appealing. The almond at the bottom adds flavor and texture. I bought some madeleines! (5 packs of 2-piece madeleines) The packaging is cute, and I decided to repurchase them because the person I gave them to as a souvenir before really liked them. The taste is quite lemony, so I recommend them to those who like citrus flavors. It's located inside Hankyu Department Store, so it's convenient to go there even on rainy days. Before the night shift, I went to JR Kitashinchi to do some shopping. The izakaya famous for its food was closed, maybe due to the Bon holiday or the typhoon. So I wondered if the Chinese restaurant famous for its food was also closed. The lights were on, but it seemed like you needed a reservation to get in. Nearby, there was a yakiniku restaurant famous for its food. I wondered if it was closed for the Bon holiday. Oh well, I decided to go to the sweets shop famous for its food at Hankyu Department Store. Luckily, it was open. The shop had two sections - one for freshly baked sweets and the other for boxed souvenirs. I lined up with about four people and quickly got my order of the popular financier and the limited edition caramel sale exclusive to Hankyu Umeda Main Store, along with the limited-time cafe chocolat. I used my shareholder discount voucher and paid with my card. I decided to have dinner somewhere else after that. I thought about enjoying my sweets on a bench at Diamor Osaka, but it was closed for the day. So I ended up sitting on a bench at JR Kitashinchi Station and tried the caramel sale first. It was delicious, with butter oozing out. Then I tried the cafe chocolat, which was rich and tasty. Finally, I had the classic financier, which was good but not as impressive as the first two. You can't underestimate the pastries from Brittany, France. Now, off to my night shift.
