Once a year, it's routine for me to drive through the mountain route and come here to soak in the hot springs. It's usually around early summer when the warm breeze feels just right and really pleasant. I thoroughly enjoy the outdoor bath. And after that, I treat myself to some delicious soft serve ice cream, even if the price went up a bit, it's worth it. That's true happiness. I have to eat it quickly though because it starts melting as soon as I take a picture of it (laughs). It's even more convenient now that I can use PayPay. It's a great holiday, isn't it? Well then, back to enjoying it! (laughs)

Shirogane-so. The sauna here is amazing. It seems like a lot of celebrities also want to come here. It's a happy feeling to have such a sauna nearby. I'm savoring the moment (laughs). You can also experience a loyly. After taking a bath, you can also enjoy soft serve ice cream. It was not too sweet and delicious. I feel like going there again tomorrow.

I usually visit this place in the summer, between May and September, coming from Biei side. I often go in August, but this time I visited in July. I love outdoor baths, and in this season, when I get out of the bath and sit on the bench, feeling the gentle breeze on my body is so relaxing that I can just sit there without thinking about anything for a while. It's not just the comfort of the bath, but also the delicious soft serve ice cream afterwards that makes the experience even better. This summer, I was able to reward myself for my efforts with this treat. ^^

Once a year, I never miss my pilgrimage to Shirogane-so. Except for Tokachidake Onsen, which is located a bit higher up, Shuparo Onsen is one of the top mountain hot springs in Hokkaido. Passing by the entrance to Tokachidake Observatory, you continue on. Relaxing in the open-air bath here is pure bliss, even though it was a bit cool with light rain on this day. The temperature difference of about 10 degrees from down below was also a nice change, especially since it had been a string of hot summer days. Ending such an extraordinary experience with this soft serve ice cream is truly special. I am so happy to have accomplished this again this year. Thank you for the meal.

I had planned to climb Tokachi-dake. Despite being worried about the volcanic microseismic activity alert issued the day before, I managed to reach the summit. There was thick smoke rising, making my throat feel itchy. Most of the mountain was covered in clouds and smoke, so I couldn't see the full view. After descending, I arrived at this place. There were few people, and a friend kindly drove me to a nice hot spring. I decided to avoid alcohol and instead enjoyed a post-bath glass of milk, just like in the Showa era! When was the last time I had milk from a bottle? It was so delicious! I struggled a bit to open the lid of the bottle, which was made of plastic instead of the paper ones from the past. There must be a trick to it. Thank you for the bath and milk!

My companion had been wanting to visit this hot spring for a long time. The drive from Kami-Furano is quite steep, and our old car can barely make it up the hill without being in third gear. When we finally arrived and got out of the car, there was an open-air bath for men right in front of us! It's not just a little bit visible, you can see everything (sweating). From the open-air bath for women, you can see Mt. Tokachi emitting smoke. There are various types of baths, from hot to warm, so I relaxed in the warm bath while gazing at the mountains and before I knew it, 50 minutes had passed. The sulfur chloride salt spring is said to dissolve excess fat, and I felt like my body had become lighter (definitely just my imagination). After a refreshing soak, I bought some soft-serve ice cream for a cool down. It's not too sweet, with a rich and creamy texture, quite delicious (*^^*). If you visit at the right time, you can find strawberry soft-serve ice cream topped with strawberries. I will definitely visit here again! Thank you, "Shiragin-so"!

In Biei, we went to the Makigari Onsen together. It's a popular hot spring with a nice atmosphere, including indoor and outdoor rock baths. The outdoor bath is a large rock bath, and it's quite hot and seems to be 100% natural spring water. Despite feeling lukewarm at first, the hot water eventually warmed us up nicely. Overall, it's a good hot spring, although not as impressive as the Maure Sanso we visited yesterday. It's a popular spot, with soft serve ice cream available for 130 yen. After enjoying the hot spring, drinking cold milk felt refreshing. Overall, a nice experience, although some people may prefer a cold beer instead.
