It's Sunday morning in Namba. Today, I plan to satisfy my thirst for knowledge at the Nara National Museum, but before that, breakfast. Skipping the bland hotel breakfast, I headed to Nankai Namba Station. I found a udon restaurant on Tabelog that opens at 7 am even on Sundays. That place is Tenmasa. It's not a tempura restaurant, it's an udon restaurant. It's a standing-style place, but there are round chairs around the counter. I saw on the sign outside that plain udon is only 240 yen. And it even comes with green onions and fish cake! It feels like a blast from the past, like the prices from the 1940s. I found a spot at the end of the counter and ordered the meat udon. I also asked for some kelp as a topping and waited a few minutes. When the udon was served, it looked fantastic. The meat was probably pork belly slices. It was quite generous in portion. The seasoning was a light soy sauce typical of Kansai. The high saltiness pairs well with animal protein! When I flipped over the bowl, the udon noodles were soft and chewy, just the way I like them. The topping of kelp was shredded kelp with a smooth texture. It reminded me of the kelp sushi I used to enjoy in Hiroshima. The kelp melts into the broth towards the end, creating a rich umami paste. After taking photos, I sprinkled plenty of shichimi spice and savored the delicious udon. The combination of kelp dashi and light soy sauce broth was simply delicious. And that's the end of my meal.

Since the opening, I have been grateful for their service. Next door, there is a standing udon shop, which was a bit intimidating for me when I was young. Then suddenly, Tenmasa opened next to it, a bit more expensive but you can sit down and it's clean. I have been going there a few times a year since then. It's cheap, fast, and delicious! When I'm a bit conscious of calories, I go for the meat soba with extra green onions and mixed rice. The curry udon is also delicious. It's a great place to enjoy standing udon at an unchanged price.

Today, I had lunch in Namba for work. I had meat udon for 500 yen, which was delicious with plenty of beef in it! Don't forget to try the mixed rice for 200 yen as well. I had a satisfying meal for 700 yen. Thank you for the feast! Location: Namba, Chuo-ku, Osaka City, 3-3-3. Phone: 06-6641-1846. Open from 10:00 to 20:00, closed on holidays. Don't hesitate to follow us on Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter. Thank you for your support!

I visited for breakfast during my trip to Osaka. It's convenient that they serve breakfast early in the morning for travelers. I ordered kitsune udon. It came out quickly. The taste is simple but the broth is flavorful. It's a safe and satisfying taste. It was crowded with many foreign tourists. Since it's crowded, it's better to leave the table as soon as you finish eating.

This time, I visited Tenmasa in Namba Center Street shopping arcade. This is an old udon and soba restaurant that I remember visiting a long time ago, although I can't recall exactly when. Recently, with the revival of inbound tourism, it has become more crowded. I visited just after the lunch rush on a holiday, so I had to wait a bit, but eventually got a seat without much trouble. I ordered Stamina Soba and mixed rice this time. The combination of bonito and kelp broth with soba, along with egg and tempura, added a nice touch to the flavor. A reliable and satisfying dish. The mixed rice was also delicious. A quick and satisfying meal~. Thank you for the delicious food~.

I received a couple's Zenkai instead of a branch, but my stomach seems to have recovered, so I think I can still go. I remembered that there was a udon restaurant with a great cost performance, so I visited here. The exterior looks like a standing bar that is a bit difficult to enter. Let's just go in. It is a standing-eating place with only a counter surrounding the kitchen. I ordered chopped udon. Half of the bowl is filled with finely chopped aburaage, and the other half is filled with green leeks. I paid and received my order. The chopped udon with salt and dashi soaked in it is delicious. The udon broth is clear and seems to be light soy sauce based. The broth is tasty. I can eat the leeks quickly. If this was priced at 500 yen per bowl, I would rate it around 3 stars, but it's only 300 yen! Even at 3.5 stars, it's still low and I hope I don't get bad luck... (laughs)

I used it for the first time. I visited twice during a one night, two day trip. My grandmother is from the west and always used clear broth when making udon, so I am familiar with Kansai udon and like it. The meat also had a strong flavor, and I want to eat it again. The mixed rice dish in particular was exquisite. A must-order. I wonder if the udon at Kanto's standing udon shops could be like this broth.

Cheap, fast, delicious Tenmasa. I dropped in for the first time in a while. I had the wakame udon for 300 yen and onigiri for 200 yen. You can enjoy a delicious udon with a great broth for just one coin. Great value for money, no complaints. They apparently give you extra green onions as a service (lol). It was delicious!

The other day, I arrived at this place intending to visit for the first time as a pre-theater meal before watching NGK, but it was temporarily closed. Finally, I was able to visit for the first time. Upon entering through the open sliding door, I found this counter shaped like the letter "字". Self-serve water is available. I ordered sliced udon and mixed rice. Payment is made in advance. The sliced udon had plenty of sliced fried tofu and green onions. The broth was flavorful. The noodles were smooth and slid down easily, but personally, I prefer them to have a bit more firmness. The mixed rice had a nice crispy texture and a delicious taste. All of this for only 500 yen, which is very reasonable. Thank you for the meal.

Meat Udon for 500 yen, side dish rice for 200 yen. This udon shop is popular among locals. Payment is made in advance. The Meat Udon is filled with plenty of pork and seasoned with a light soy sauce typical of the Kansai region. The udon noodles lack firmness, but have a chewy and soft texture, characteristic of Kansai-style udon. The broth is light and flavorful with a stable texture unique to the Kansai region. The side dish rice is also well-seasoned and complements the gentle flavor of the udon perfectly.

Because I don't know the area well, I always end up going to this udon shop that I love. I get lost every time, but I always manage to find it (laughs). For me, Big Camera is the landmark. The shop has only counter seats, and it's often full, but if you stand by the door that says "entrance," you'll eventually be called in. The turnover rate is fast. In an area with many foreign tourists, the menu photos have English, Chinese, and Korean translations. The prices are super cheap, like "Tsukimi Udon (300 yen)" and "Stamina Udon (400 yen)." Prices may have changed since my last visit due to rising costs, but for tourists from Europe and America, the prices must be unbelievably cheap. The Osaka-style udon with clear broth is delicious and nostalgic. I also like the chewy Sanuki-style udon, but the Osaka udon that I've been familiar with since childhood is also delicious.

Udon restaurant located in Senichimae Chuo-dori shopping street. The best thing about it is the price - Kitsune udon was only 300 yen. The simple yet flavorful broth was refreshing. The noodles were chewy and had a good texture. For this price, it was quite satisfying. The kitsune had a nice sweetness to it. Thank you for the meal.

For breakfast. Seating was separate as we entered separately. Payment was made when ordering. The meat udon was 500 yen. It was average. The noodles were not like Marugame, but the broth was decent. The portion of noodles was a bit on the larger side. It's located near a busy area and is popular for being open early in the morning.

It has the same atmosphere as a standing udon shop. There are only seats at the counter. I was hungry after school, so I ate udon with my friends and then went home. It's located in the bustling Namba district, so it's a bit crowded, but it's good for a quick meal. I ordered curry udon and was tempted by the person next to me to also order a white rice ball. The curry udon was delicious. Curry udon 400 yen, white rice ball 100 yen. Thank you for the meal.

The place was conveniently located and busy from the morning. Inside, there were about 12 counter seats surrounding the kitchen, making it feel small. I ordered the meat udon, which had a decent amount of meat and overall seemed to be good value for money. The restaurant had high ratings, but I personally prefer the meat udon from Marugame Seimen. It was crowded in the morning, so I think it's popular among locals.

This is not a standing udon restaurant, but a counter udon where you can quickly order, eat, and leave. It's a holy place for salarymen. In the past, I visited Tenmasa in Fuse shopping street a few times, but this is my second visit here. Of course, it's the morning after drinking (-.-;)y-~~~ This shop has a line, but there are plenty of seats, so even if there are 5-10 people waiting, you can enter the shop in about 5 minutes. I ordered the meat udon with tempura topping and rice ball (_ _).。o○ I forgot about my hangover. I received my bowl in about a minute, slurped the broth, chewed on the meat, took a bite of the rice ball, slurped the broth again... I overdid it with this amount in the morning. I could have done without the udon noodles Σ( ̄。 ̄ノ)ノ Just as I was watching the person next to me order ??? and then receive their bowl, I was like Σ(゚д゚lll) Huh? There was a way to order like that! I'll try ordering it next time and upload a photo, but for now, I'll keep it a secret here. It's perfect for a hangover morning σ(^_^;) Although I have a long history of standing udon restaurants... I didn't know there was a way to order like this. I wonder if I can do this at other shops? Stay tuned. Thank you for the meal (^人^)

In July of the 5th year of Reiwa, from 9:00 to 16:00, there is sliced udon for 300 yen in Namba. It's just the right amount for breakfast, with low prices, quick service, and delicious taste that will make you want to drink up all the broth.

It's comforting. I want this Showa-era style restaurant to continue existing. The taste, portion size, and speed are all satisfying, as well as the staff. However, the system of letting single diners in first and then filling empty seats with single diners made it a bit tough because it felt like I couldn't get in forever. But it's a good restaurant.

You can order onigiri individually. When I went after a long time, there was no one there, haha. I wanted to order zaru udon, but my friend accidentally said zaru soba, so I ended up ordering that... Next time, I'll order katsudon with extra green onions, lol.

Today's lunch was at Tenmasa in Namba. It was my first visit to this traditional udon and soba restaurant that only has counter seating. I ordered the tempura soba for 340 yen and a rice ball for 200 yen. The rice ball arrived quickly, with two triangular rice balls sprinkled with furikake and a generous amount of kelp. Since it was a bit crowded, the soba arrived in 2-3 minutes. The tempura was thin and crispy, with even the shrimp tails included. The soba noodles were ordinary bagged noodles, but tasty. These kind of soba restaurants always have delicious broth. A quick and satisfying soba lunch. Thank you for the meal.
