Last night, I had the pleasure of dining at the hard-to-reserve restaurant, Torisho Ishii Jr., located in Nishi-Temma, Kita-ku, Osaka, with MyRebi-san and a friend. It was a fantastic experience that left me still feeling satisfied the next day. For lunch the next day, we went to Kappo Kuon in Toyonaka, a restaurant we love and have visited multiple times since moving to Toyonaka. They offer authentic Kaiseki cuisine for lunch, which is one of our favorite spots. We had to make a reservation in advance as it is a popular place. The lunch course we had included a variety of dishes, and we also ordered drinks. Overall, it was a great experience and we left feeling very satisfied. The restaurant is a popular spot for authentic Kaiseki cuisine, and we will definitely be returning in the future.

It's been about 4 years since my first visit, but I have been revisiting this place from time to time. In recent years, I have been going more frequently, and last year I went a total of 4 times. Due to the recent price increase, the lunch course with 6 dishes is now ¥3200! Considering the content, I think it's a great deal. It's definitely great value for money. Although I can't eat much these days, the tempura that can be added for ¥1100 is really delicious! When you want to eat delicious Japanese food without a doubt in the Osaka area, this is a highly recommended restaurant. Thank you for the meal.【2019.4.26 First visit】【2021.1.17 2nd visit】【2022.1.30 3rd visit】【2022.3.30 4th visit】【2022.7.16 5th visit】【2022.10.15 6th visit】【2023.3.25 7th visit】

This place "Kuon" has been on my radar for quite some time. Not only is the food highly praised, but the prices are also very reasonable. It was a restaurant my family wanted to visit when we went to Kobe. However, there was a strict rule for us - children under elementary school age were not allowed (this may have changed now). This time, my younger daughter became a middle school student, so our long-awaited wish came true and we were able to visit the restaurant! We had been looking forward to this for 5 years! This time, it was not a trip to Kobe, but a short trip to show the children the "Tower of the Sun" at the Expo Park. We stopped by the restaurant before the visit. It is located in Toyonaka City. Contrary to what I had imagined, it is quite urban. The restaurant is on the first floor of an apartment building. There is parking space in front of the restaurant, but it is narrow, so we parked at the recommended coin parking a short distance away and entered the restaurant at 12 o'clock. The restaurant has a stylish feel with a counter for 6 seats and 2 tables. The place is run by the owner, a young chef, and three other women. We had the 7-course lunch for 6,200 yen, which included appetizers, sashimi, soup, grilled dish, fried dish, rice dish, and dessert. The dishes included: - Crab in a box with mozuku and jelly - Assorted appetizers with fish, vegetables, and lotus root - Sashimi with tuna, sea bream, and more - Soup with fish and turnip - Grilled fish with seven-spice seasoning, chestnut, and ginkgo nut - Tempura with shiitake mushroom, conger eel, onion, shrimp, and sweet potato - White miso soup with pickles - Eel and daikon radish simmered rice - Japanese sugar panna cotta Overall, it was a stylish and delicious Japanese course meal. It was a satisfying lunch. However, in terms of balance, the tempura felt a bit like an addition. Perhaps the other course might be more balanced for lunch...that's how I felt. This was my impression of the day. It's a great restaurant where you can enjoy delicious Japanese cuisine at a reasonable price. I recommend it for those who live in Osaka and love Japanese food. Thank you for the meal.

I had been interested in this restaurant for a while, and had been turned down for same-day reservations twice before. However, this time I was able to secure a reservation on the same day. I made a reservation for a 9-course set menu at 9000 yen per person over the phone for two people, while my child ordered a la carte items after we arrived. There was a parking lot in front of the restaurant, and I was allowed to park there after confirming with the staff. The staff was very accommodating towards my child, which made me feel at ease. The child was served a mushroom mixed rice dish first. The rice was a bit soft this time, which was slightly concerning, but everything else was delicious. I tried finger lime for the first time, which was a nice discovery. For the main dishes, I had grilled red snapper scales, while my companion had grilled blackfish. The dessert, a sweet and salty manju with salt and red bean paste, was also delicious. The total bill for two 9000 yen course menus, one draft beer, two shochu, one apple juice, one oolong tea, two a la carte items (shrimp tempura and grilled black wagyu belly with black pepper), came to 30,303 yen without a detailed breakdown. Thank you for the meal.

A few years ago, I had a tough time with road closures and a week-long power outage during a typhoon, so whenever there is a typhoon or heavy rain warning, I immediately evacuate to Osaka. My home is surrounded by a river in front and mountains in the back, so it's better to evacuate somewhere so that others don't have to worry about me. I pack up lots of stuff and head to Osaka. But before that, I make a dinner reservation just in case. Since I'm alone, I can usually get a reservation on the same day. I decided to take a taxi to the restaurant in Osaka as it's a bit far to walk. I chose the 9000 yen course. The meal included shrimp with taro, assorted sashimi, a simmered dish, grilled tilefish scales, tempura, vinegar-marinated crab, crab rice with matsutake mushrooms, dessert, and sake. The food was fresh and delicious. The chef was friendly and the restaurant had a cozy atmosphere. The meal was filling and worth the price. I might try the 6000 yen course next time. It's a great place to enjoy good food without breaking the bank.

Kuon is located a little away from Okamachi Station on the Hankyu Takarazuka Line. I made a reservation for lunch kaiseki and visited. The lunch kaiseki is priced at 2700 yen (excluding tax) and offers great value for money with each dish being very delicious! There is parking space for 3 cars in front of the shop, but it can be a bit difficult to park, so please be careful! The meal includes: - Appetizer (five varieties): Yuba, taro fried, marinated tomatoes, kinkan, and kelp with eggs - Sashimi: Grilled golden eye snapper and tuna - Soup: Hichin chicken and shiitake mushroom - Grilled dish: Salt-grilled Spanish mackerel - Rice dish: Rice cooked with small fish and rapeseed blossoms - Dessert: Warabimochi and tea Additional options include deep-fried assorted tempura for 1300 yen (excluding tax) and a tempura platter for 1000 yen (excluding tax). We ordered one of each for two people, and they were served separately on different plates, which was very pleasing. We will definitely visit again.

I found out that the additional tempura I ordered was also delicious (*゚∀゚*) I was in the mood for a nice Japanese lunch, so I decided to visit "Ryouriya Kuon," a restaurant I have visited twice before and was very satisfied with. It is located in a residential area a bit far from Toyonaka-Okamachi Station. The course meal, priced at ¥2700 each time, is so refined and satisfying that it might just be the best value for lunch. The delicate flavors of the dishes, starting from the appetizer, sashimi platter, soup, grilled dish, rice, and miso soup, are truly impressive. However, this time, I was amazed by the "Seasonal Tempura Assortment" that I ordered for the first time. Priced at ¥1000, I thought it would be a platter-style assortment, but it turned out to be individual tempura pieces! The assortment included udo, smelt fish, red eggplant, golden threadfin bream, and sweet potato, all of which were very appealing. The frying technique was also flawless, surpassing many specialized tempura restaurants. For ¥1000, or ¥500 per person, this is unbelievable. You must definitely order this as an addition! I want to visit this restaurant every month; it has become my favorite Japanese restaurant. I will definitely go back soon. And I quietly added it to the recommended restaurants in my profile section. It's that good. Thank you for the delicious meal☆

In a residential area in Toyonaka, there is a small Japanese restaurant called "Night Kaiseki" that stands alone. The kaiseki course costs 8,000 yen and starts with a dish of conger eel with wasabi oil and plum. The conger eel is rare, moist, and tender with a firm texture, while the white radish is crunchy. The flavor of plum in the dashi broth is delicious, and the wasabi flavor is mild and easy to eat. The assorted dishes were all delicious, but the fried buckwheat seeds with red miso were particularly tasty, with a sweet and salty flavor and a crispy texture with a hint of sansho pepper. The abalone, turban shell, sardine, and grilled blackthroat seaperch sashimi were all delicious, especially the sardine and blackthroat seaperch with their rich flavors. The crab and shiitake mushroom soup was comforting with its soft texture and fragrant sudachi citrus aroma. I chose the grilled sea bream with scales from the selection of grilled dishes, and it was incredibly delicious with its crispy scales and tender, sweet flesh. The tempura of green eggplant, young corn, prawn, red sweet potato, and conger eel was served hot and each piece was delicious, with the red sweet potato being particularly amazing. The corn soup with grated corn had a subtle sweetness similar to sweet sake or sake lees, with a refreshing cold and smooth texture that I enjoyed. The meal ended with eel and bell pepper simmered rice, miso soup with kujo green onions and grilled eggplant, and caramel ice cream with sweetened condensed milk, which was divine. My personal top three favorites were the caramel ice cream, miso soup and sea bream, and the corn soup. The portion size was just right, the cost performance was good, and everything was delicious. The location may be inconvenient, but the taste and service of the restaurant were wonderful. By the way, the lunch seems quite reasonable, costing less than 3,000 yen, so I would like to revisit for lunch.

Toyonaka City, Okamachi, "Ryoriya Kuon" offers a great value lunch course! Today, we decided to treat ourselves to a slightly luxurious lunch and headed to "Ryoriya Kuon" near Okamachi Station in Toyonaka City. It's a bit away from the station, but there is parking space in front of the restaurant, so we drove there. We were amazed by the high level of hospitality. The atmosphere inside the restaurant is very calming. There are tables and a counter, and we were seated at the counter as a party of two. The attention to detail in the tableware and cutlery is impressive. The atmosphere is great, and the service is incredibly polite. The staff explained the dishes clearly, and they even changed the tea cups each time. They gave change with crisp bills. The list of great service qualities goes on. It's perfect. The lunch kaiseki course is priced at 2700 yen and 5400 yen (approximately). The quality and quantity of food for this price are outstanding. We visited in March, as the weather was starting to warm up, and the dishes reflected the arrival of spring. Enjoying the changing seasons. It makes you appreciate being Japanese. The appetizers included a refreshing dish of mozuku seaweed, a spicy miso-flavored kumamoto eggplant, a sweet and sour pickled tomato, and a delicious quail soy sauce marinade. The dishes like butterbur and fuki white miso salad made us feel the arrival of spring. The sashimi course featured firm swordfish, tender yellowtail, and a flavorful tuna. The soup had a delicate balance of bamboo shoots, wakame seaweed, and wood sorrel. The salt-grilled golden-eye snapper had a crispy skin and a savory flavor enhanced by wasabi oil and citrus. The rice dish was a comforting clay pot rice with fresh baby squid, perfect for seconds. The meal ended with a sweet honey and milk sherbet and a tangy buntan citrus. Overall, the value for money was exceptional. Thank you for a delightful lunch experience.

There are surprisingly few restaurants where you can be impressed even on your second visit... But this Japanese restaurant in Toyonaka is definitely worth a visit, even if you have to come from another city!! I felt that again♡ They carefully select seasonal ingredients and skillfully bring out the goodness of those ingredients with exquisite seasoning... You can feel that every detail is well thought out♪ Above all, for a lunch, the quality of the food for ¥2700 is seriously amazing!! I think they could easily charge double the price. The small octopus appetizer was exceptionally delicious this time♡ I'm curious about the dishes for summer and autumn, so I want to visit again when the seasons change! This time I sat at a table, but next time I want to sit at the counter... I'm also interested in dinner, but the lunch deal is probably the way to go (*゚∀゚*) Thank you for the meal☆

The first installment of the highest series. This is a restaurant located in the suburbs of Toyonaka City. The streets and the atmosphere of the restaurant are nice. All the dishes are excellent, rivaling even famous restaurants. The staff does a great job, providing subtle and helpful service, willingly sharing cooking tips. The variety of alcohol is abundant, with some drinks not listed on the menu, which is great. The cleanliness, including the restrooms, is well-maintained. The cost performance is also good, with nothing to complain about. It's truly a great restaurant. Thank you for the meal. I will definitely come again.

I went to a Japanese restaurant called Kuon in Toyonaka. The appetizer of crab dish was filled with plenty of crab, making me look forward to the dishes to come. The soup with matsutake mushrooms and yuzu had a gentle and delicious flavor, reminding me once again how tasty Japanese cuisine can be. For the grilled dish, I chose shirako (milt) which was followed by oysters, allowing me to enjoy seasonal delicacies to the fullest. I couldn't finish the eel rice, so I was able to take it home. I heard someone saying "happy birthday" for a toast, and they even wrote "happy birthday" on the dessert. It's a wonderful restaurant that pays attention to details, and I definitely want to go there again.

I visited Kuon-san, where I sometimes drop by. There is no mistake. The dishes, with a good understanding of seasonal ingredients, were delicious as always. It may not be innovative, but you can enjoy it with peace of mind. I also often visit Rokka-san for bento, and it is really good for lunch.

It is a stylish traditional Japanese restaurant called Kappo Kuon. There are many delicious restaurants in Toyonaka City. Some Michelin-starred restaurants can be found here, unlike in Takatsuki City. I went there for lunch. You can park your car in front of the restaurant. Inside, the decor is stylish and appealing to women. However, on the day I visited, there were no other customers, just me. I ordered the 5,000 yen course, but the 2,700 yen course seems to be more popular. The food was delicious, but nothing particularly memorable. Maybe the ingredients used in the 5,000 yen course didn't allow the chef to showcase his skills. I thought the 2,700 yen course would have been sufficient. It's a nice and stylish restaurant nearby where you can enjoy a 2,700 yen lunch course. Finally, I had a conversation with the chef, who mentioned that he trained at a traditional Japanese restaurant in Osaka. His humble attitude left a good impression on me.

Each dish is delicious. However, I was a bit disappointed that they didn't ask about dislikes such as bowls, fried foods, and desserts, so eggplant appeared twice. Well, it seems like they still have room for improvement in terms of attention to detail!

Continuing from the battleship review, now it's time for the airplane reviewヽ( ・∀・)ノ. On this day, I went all the way to the northern part of Osaka... The reason why I went to the northern part was because I wanted to try "airplane watching" from the embankment of the Senrigawa River, which is quite close to the airport. Before heading to the airplane watching point from the station, I decided to inject some alcohol first. The day before, I checked my food log and found that there were 2 restaurants with high ratings... After much deliberation, I chose "Kuon" over the famous Uwajima Tai Meshi shop that my trusted reviewers had visited. I'll have to come back for the Uwajima Tai Meshi another day♪ The restaurant is about a 5-minute bike ride from Hankyu Okamachi Station, located quietly in a residential area.➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖★Menu★●Lunch Course ¥2700♦Appetizer (new potatoes, firefly squid, eggplant, kelp with roe)The appetizer was served in a small dish style with various wild vegetables and tree buds, making you feel the arrival of spring...♦Sashimi (first bonito, sea bream)Fresh bonito sashimi is a sign of freshness♪ The thickly sliced bonito had a satisfying texture, with just a hint of fishiness... The sea bream marinated in kelp had a strong kelp flavor!! Personally, I prefer a bit less kelp flavor.♦Soup (asari clams, fat greenling)I love asari clams♪ Spring is all about shellfish. The asari clams in a delicious broth couldn't be anything but delicious! Along with the clams was a type of wild vegetable called fat greenling, which had a unique aroma and texture.♦Grilled Dish (grilled salmon with miso)The moderately fatty grilled salmon was delicious. The standout was the fried fuki buds placed on top!! It beautifully tied the flavors of the whole dish together♪♦Rice Dish (bamboo shoot mixed rice, eggplant miso soup, pickles)Bamboo shoot mixed rice is my favorite♡ The seasoning was exquisite, and I couldn't stop eating♪ When I asked for seconds, they also brought crispy rice at the bottom. The eggplant miso soup had a slightly stronger flavor, balancing well with the mixed rice.♦Dessert (homemade warabi mochi)The homemade warabi mochi had a chewy and creamy texture♪ It was a high-level dessert for a Japanese restaurant!➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖♣️SummaryThe fact that you could enjoy such a elaborate Japanese course for ¥2700 (tax included) was truly astonishing!! The course included seasonal ingredients like wild vegetables, asari clams, and bamboo shoots, which I personally enjoyed♪ The chef, who runs the restaurant, may not talk much, but he was friendly when I spoke to him. Despite drinking a lot of sake from lunch onwards (as usual w), the bill came to around ¥4000 per person. It was a wonderful restaurant that made me want to visit again at night♪ After that, I bought some sweets from "Mori no Ohagi," a famous shop in Okamachi, and rode my bike (despite being under the influence of alcohol...) to finally go airplane watching... However, the sunny sky suddenly turned dark with black clouds, and by the time I reached the embankment of the Senrigawa River, a sudden torrential rainstorm hit((((;゚Д゚))))))) Thanks to that, I got completely drenched, but I was extremely excited to see the airplanes up close on that day in Aprilヽ( ・∀・)ノ. Oh, if you're looking for a lunch spot in Okamachi, I highly recommend this place without a doubt! Toyonaka is not to be underestimated w. Thank you for the meal☆

I had been wanting to visit a restaurant in Okamachi for a while. I had called a few times and was turned down, thinking it was because the place was small. When I actually visited, I found that the space was quite large. The name "Kuon" means eternity. The fact that it has "ku" in common with my name gave me a strange sense of familiarity, haha. The food was also delicious with some creative touches. And the prices were reasonable. Great value for money. I want to come back to this wonderful restaurant regularly.
