The gourmet tour had been mostly focused on sweet treats, so we decided to change things up and visit a wine factory. After a quick tour of the factory, we headed to the tasting corner. There were both free and paid tastings available, and even though I couldn't drink wine as the driver, I enjoyed some grape juice instead. The most popular wine at the tasting was the Portland.

Hello everyone! Let's visit a wine factory today. Honestly, there aren't many highlights as a factory (^^; but the nice thing here is that you can freely taste three types of wine barrels, white, red, and the recommended one for the day, on the second floor. No one is watching over you (๑˃̵ᴗ˂̵). Of course, let's taste and then head to the "Furano City Fruit Research Institute Shop" at the back. There are many delicious Furano wines lined up there. Oh, what's this? A white wine limited to 9,000 bottles in the city for 1,200 yen! It's so cheap! Even though I failed with the limited red wine last time because it was too sour, I'm foolishly trying the white one this time (^｡^). Let's head back home♪ It has a light color and the aroma is already quite acidic. When I sip it, it's so sour! It's not as undrinkable as the limited red wine last time, but this white one is quite acidic. The label says it's a blend of varieties, so maybe they are using leftover grapes to make it. Even so, I wish they could make it more drinkable (･･;). This wine wasn't recommendable, but Furano wines have many delicious ones. You can taste them, enjoy the beautiful view from the hill, so it's a good tourist spot, don't you think? Thank you for the meal♪

I tried the Furano red wine from May 2022. I enjoyed it during my evening drink. It has a very nice aroma and is light and not heavy. It has a moderate astringency and is very delicious. It goes down smoothly, so I end up drinking too much.

I visited the Furano Winery to purchase their wine. The winery also has a lavender garden, and the lavender was in full bloom when I visited. As I entered the garden, I was soothed by the beautiful purple color and fragrance of the lavender. You can do tastings at the winery. Near the entrance of the shop, there were barrels of a few varieties where you can freely taste, but unfortunately I was the driver so I had to pass. I purchased a 360ml bottle of white wine and a 360ml bottle of rosé, both priced at 690 yen including tax. Back at the inn, I chilled them in the fridge and enjoyed them right away. Both the white and rosé were medium-bodied, not too sweet or too dry, with a pleasant taste. At 690 yen including tax for 360ml, it's a great value for money.

When you come to Furano in July 2017, it would be nice to stop by here, also for a wine factory tour. I came here because I enjoyed the juice I had at Elbestella. I came by car, but I wonder if there are other transportation options? Are there buses or something? When traveling around Hokkaido, it may be more convenient for sightseeing to go here and there by rental car or car. Since I am the driver, I cannot drink wine, but I am happy to have juice tasting. I purchased the following items: my daughter had never seen Furano cider dessert wine, and I also bought Soleil Bear for the evening drink. The wine factory tour was fun. Thank you for the meal.

In October, on the fourth Saturday, I suddenly found myself in Furano. Since I had come all the way to Furano, I decided to stop by the Furano Wine Factory. I have been mostly abstaining from alcohol since New Year's this year. However, occasionally, I playfully sip on wine, as I have mentioned in previous reviews. While I used to have a habit of drinking shochu, I have completely cut ties with that and have started to develop a new connection with wine, albeit in small amounts. I didn't have much interest in wine before, but recently my interest has grown, and I thought, "If I'm in Furano, maybe I can get some wine that I can only buy here." So, out of curiosity, I casually stopped by this place. First, I took a tour of the factory with lively foreign visitors. I have visited beer, sake, and whiskey factories before, but this was my first time at a wine factory. Whenever I visit such facilities, I always wonder who first came up with the idea to create such wonderful liquids. I can't help but admire human ingenuity. After the tour, my wife enjoyed wine tasting while I settled for grape juice as I had to drive. But even the grape juice was incredibly delicious. I had never tasted such delicious grape juice before. Finally, I reached the shop area. I wanted to buy a bottle that was unique to this place. I couldn't decide between the regular "Furano Wine" and the "Furano Wine Factory Limited Edition Label." Ultimately, I chose the latter, a Rosé wine, which was a local specialty. I also found Furano Wine Chocolate, which I bought as a snack to enjoy with the wine. At the checkout, I was surrounded by many foreign visitors, making the shopping experience a bit tiring. I purchased two items and looked forward to tasting them later. Later, my wife and I tried the Furano Wine Factory Limited Edition Label (Rosé). It had a light-medium body and was quite easy to drink. It was not as sweet as I expected, but it left an impressive impression as a souvenir from my journey. Lately, even my wife, who used to prefer beer, has started talking about wine, thanks to my influence. I couldn't help but smile to myself at how the barrier to purchasing wine has lowered. Overall, I was satisfied. As for the Furano Wine Chocolate, it was a delightful treat to enjoy with the wine.

In April 2021, I received Furano wine as an omiyage. I love white wine, so I was very happy! I had it for a nightcap right away, and it was fruity but not too sweet - a refreshing wine with a smooth and delicious taste.

The process of making wine is explained clearly on panels, and you can sample wine and grape juice. I purchased two bottles of wine for home drinking (*´∀`)♪ Both were easy to drink and refreshing.
