I love Baumkuchen, especially from Hokkaido Karyu. I also enjoy Kaitaku Okaki, and ordering sweets online is always delicious. I had been wanting to visit their store in Hokkaido for a while, and I finally got to visit the Sapporo Main Store. I thoroughly checked out the store and purchased items that are not available online. The Chef's snack? This is amazing! Probably an irregular product from the Fairy Forest in a great size and at a great price. There were three types of cream puffs, as well as refrigerated chocolate donuts and baked goods that are not available online. And of course, I couldn't miss out on the soft serve ice cream. Here is my review of the items I tried: Soft Serve Ice Cream: Rich milk soft serve, very creamy and decadent. You can tell the Chef put a lot of effort into this. Custard Cream Puff: Tasty, but pretty standard. I prefer the ones from Gran Mere in Ehime. Hokkaido Azuki Pie: Also pretty average. Considering the price, I think Shatoreze might be a better option. However, when I toasted it at home, it was surprisingly delicious. Chef's Snack: This is amazing! You can only buy this here... I envy those who live nearby. It's like getting a great deal on the Baumkuchen part of the snack. On 9/17/2023, after enjoying some delicious ramen, I realized I hadn't bought ice cream for Hana-chan yet. I searched on Tabelog and found a place in Takikawa where I could buy ice cream, but unfortunately, they had already closed for the season. However, I ended up making a random purchase at that store, which I will review later. My wife suggested going to Sapporo instead, so we decided to visit Hokkaido Confectionery Sandakan Main Store for some soft serve ice cream. The parking lot and store were crowded as usual, but luckily the window for selling soft serve was not busy. I bought a soft serve and a cream puff for my wife, and we enjoyed them in the car. The soft serve was quite sweet, probably due to it being from a confectionery store, but it had a refreshing taste and was better than expected. The portion was generous, but the price was a bit high. However, it was worth it to see Hana-chan enjoying it so much. My wife seemed to be enjoying her cream puff as well. She told me to try it because it was delicious, but I had to decline since I was driving. If both Hana and my wife are satisfied, then that's all that matters. Looking back, I should have also bought some Kaitaku Okaki. I'll make sure to get some next time I visit. It was delicious! Thank you for the meal.

I visited the main store of Hokkaro Sunagawa in Sunagawa City. The parking lot is spacious, the store is spacious, and there is also a large cafe space, making it a very attractive shop. It was a shame, but I only bought some Hokkaro rice crackers to take home because I had another shop to visit. When I arrived at the next shop, it was full (sweat). - Hokkaro Rice Crackers (Hokkai Shrimp) for 490 yen: Not too salty and delicious. - Hokkaro Rice Crackers (Tarako from Tora Hashi Beach) for 490 yen: I wish there was more of a tarako flavor. It's kind of crowded... kind of empty... Compared to before, there are fewer customers waiting, but we had to wait a bit because of bad timing with the turnover. My wife doesn't mind waiting at all. We ordered a cake set. It comes with one drink and costs less than 1000 yen. I think it was 968 yen. The quality of the cake, chiffon cake, soft serve ice cream, and one drink for this price is amazing. I saw in a previous review that this used to cost 680 yen, which is impressive. Hokkairo is amazing. I had the snow dome mascarpone cheese cake, which is the type of cake I usually don't like, but this one was delicious. The flavor of the mascarpone cheese really stands out. And the soft serve ice cream is on another level of deliciousness. It must have a high milk fat content, it's so rich. I had an iced lemon tea. It had lemon slices floating in it. Most places would just use lemon juice, but they actually put lemon slices in it. It's fantastic! I think I'll go back just for the soft serve ice cream next time. No, I should probably have some cake too.

After returning from camping, I had lunch at the main branch of Kitagaro in Sapporo. I enjoyed a delicious plate of Napolitan spaghetti. The flavor was rich and the portion size was satisfying. The interior was stylish and very relaxing. Even though it was during the Obon holiday, I didn't have to wait long to be seated, which was great.

Hokkaido Karyu's main store. There is also a "Sapporo Highway Oasis" on the highway, so I decided to visit. The site also has a small English garden. Inside the store, there is a cafe and a shop, with a wide variety of Western sweets in addition to the famous "Kaitaku Okaki." I purchased the popular "Soft Serve Ice Cream (Vanilla) (450 yen)" and tried it right away. It's not the smooth and rich milk from a farm, but it has a strong flavor and is delicious as reputed. At first, I thought 450 yen was a bit expensive, but the soft serve ice cream was packed all the way to the bottom of the cone and the cost performance is not bad. Honestly, it's not worth going out of your way to visit, but it might be worth stopping by when you're nearby since it's the main store.

It's hot and steamy, melting, but the soft serve ice cream is incredibly smooth and creamy. I always think that... the customer service could be a bit better, everyone... Can't they improve it a bit more? The parking attendant is the best♪

I chose the half-cooked option for the omurice, and it was delicious with a unique flavor. The scallop cream pasta was also delicious with tender scallops. Another customer who came later ordered curry, which was served with rice and curry sauce separately, giving it a stylish touch. I was curious about the taste. On my way out, I got soft serve ice cream to go. It was rich and delicious.

I stopped by on my way to Asahikawa during my trip. When I arrived around 1:30, the omelette rice I was looking for was sold out, which was disappointing. Instead, I ordered the scallop pasta from Nayoro, which was amazing and impressive. It was more like a milk soup pasta than a cream pasta. The large scallops were also delicious.

I received some sweets from a confectionery shop in Hokkaido. The snack I got is called Hokkaido Kaitaku Okaki, with flavors like sea urchin, squid, kelp, and scallop representing the various tastes of Hokkaido. This time, I tried the Esashi Hairy Crab Okaki. It has a crispy texture and a nice crab flavor that makes it hard to stop eating. I couldn't resist and finished the whole pack in one go. It was delicious.

I went to the Sunagawa Main Store to buy Chef's snacks, where you can buy up to 3 boxes per person. It's a good idea to go on a weekday, as there was light snow falling and I was sure I could get them. I arrived a little after 10 o'clock, but I was able to buy them. The cost performance is great at 380 yen, with not only the edges of Baumkuchen but also regular pieces that seem to be available for sale. It was so good that my mouth couldn't help but smile. On weekends, they sometimes sell out in less than 10 minutes, so I recommend going on weekdays.

I encountered this incredibly delicious choux cream at the Hokkaido Fair at Takashimaya. I had the dreamy pastry choux cream. The layers of pastry are stacked on top of each other, filled to the brim with cream. The cream has a distinct milk flavor, with just the right amount of sweetness and richness. Truly a product of Hokkaido, the feeling of satisfaction after finishing it is quite remarkable. You need to make a reservation in advance to purchase it, as it sells out quickly due to its popularity. I was able to purchase it on my second attempt. Once you try it, you'll want to have it again. It seems that you can purchase some products online, so it might be worth taking advantage of that. I would definitely like to visit the café in person at least once.

The main store of Hokkairo in Sapporo, Hokkaido. It's like a cafe and a direct sales shop for sweets. This time, I bought soft serve ice cream from the retail section instead of using the cafe. The milky soft serve ice cream was delicious. I also bought their signature snack, "Kaitaku Okaki," which has a variety of flavors and is very good.

Hokkaido Confectionery. It is one of the famous sweet shops in Hokkaido. Their "Kaitaku Okaki" (Hokkai Shrimp) is so crispy and delicious that you can't stop eating once you start. There are various types, but this time I tried the Hokkai Shrimp flavor. "Yosei no Komichi Baumkuchen" is shaped like a cacao bean and has a rich chocolate flavor inside. It's small but has a strong taste, so it's great to enjoy at home with coffee or tea.

I visited "Hokkaro Sapporo Main Store" after a long time. I bought some sweets as offerings for a Buddhist service and also purchased "Chef's Special Soft Serve Ice Cream" for 380 yen and two pieces of "Chigiri Choux Pisco" for 197 yen each. The soft serve ice cream was rich and creamy with a strong milk flavor. The choux pastry was chewy with a hint of saltiness, and dipping it into the creamy custard filling was incredibly delicious. The products from Hokkaro never fail to impress with their high quality.

I have been going to Hokkaro Honten for over 20 years now, and I always find the café to have great value for money, a satisfying atmosphere, and excellent service. One of my favorite treats there is the "Hokkaido Dream Dome," a large cream puff filled with rich cream. The cream made with fresh milk and the soft serve ice cream are exceptional. One of the popular events at Hokkaro is the Strawberry Festival, which tends to get crowded. This year, I was lucky to get a strawberry shortcake with huge strawberries on top. It was a bit pricey at over 500 yen, but it had lots of strawberries and delicious cream. The strawberries were carefully selected and very tasty. Despite its small size, it was a delightful treat for strawberry lovers. Once again, I was impressed by the quality of Hokkaro's offerings.
